    Hey 👑. Prince formed the Time, and pretty much wrote and produced their first couple of albums, Gigolos get lonely too was on their first album. You remember your reaction of Prince's demo track for "Gigolos Get Lonely Too" you recently reacted to? That same song (which is also on the the Time's album) was a guide track for the funk group Prince conceived--The Time. The dude on the cover (Morris Day) is/was Prince's best friend and former bandmate. and a GREAT drummer. Prince came up with the Time to unleash his new wave funk side. "777-9311" is one of the Time's most groundbreaking jams. So yeah, Morris "looks" like Prince for a reason. The Time was basically him on mostly all the instruments with the great Day on lead vocals and drums. Prince's genius' knew no bounds.

    • @smoothsavage2870
      @smoothsavage2870 5 месяцев назад +1

      You might've helped with my issue with listening to Prince's music. I have a hard time listening to his full albums because i'm always trying to look for a consistent sound (particularly Funk more similar to I Wanna Be Your Lover), but that sound wasnt consistently in his own music. So i gotta go listen to the Time. Makes sense. Prince was basically doing the Parliament vs Funkadelic thing that George Clinton did based on what you're saying.

    • @keithmurphy5356
      @keithmurphy5356 5 месяцев назад +2

      @@smoothsavage2870 Yeah....Prince wasn't one for boxes or consistent sounds. He's all over the place. The Time albums (The Time, What Time Is It, Ice Cream Castles and Pandemonium) are filled with that "Prince funk" groove. But if you want to hear Prince going hard on that sound check out: "Uptown," "Head," "Controversy," "Let's Work," "Lady Cab Driver," "DMSR,""Iressitable Bitch," "17 Days," "America," ""Anotherloverholenyohead," of course "Kiss," "Housequake," "Scarlet Pussy," anything on the Black Album, "We Can Funk" feat. George Clinton, "Gett Off," "Billy Jack Bitch," "Mr. Happy," ect....

    Prince went by the alias Jamie Star. He produced, wrote, and produced albums for the Time, Vanity6, and Apollonia 6. The Time was made up of a few of his childhood friends like Morris Day (lead singer) and Jimmy Jam who would later go on to form the great production team Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. Terry Lewis was also a member of The Time he was the bass player.

    The band The Time was created by Prince in the late 1970s. Prince handpicked the members of the band and mentored them. He brought together talented musicians and performers, including Morris Day, Jesse Johnson, Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis, Monte Moir, and Jellybean Johnson. Prince served as the producer and songwriter for the band's music, and they became known for their unique blend of funk, pop, and R&B.

    Its interesting to observe a woman's modern day take on music of the past. The fact that you said "he could be a serial killer!" as the first thought shows just how much society has changed. Most women from the 80s would not have seen a man asking for a phone number with intent to come over as being "creepy" or with an intent to do harm. Women back then knew the intentions of the men of their era. For them, it was a simple yes or no, and that didn't mean never, it just meant "not today" and it was no harm, no foul. Society has really devolved and I think the modern music is both an example of it and the reason behind it.

The true band guitarist was Jesse Johnson who went solo but never had a breakout hit but several songs that did ok on the dance and R and B chart. Lead singer Morris Day also went solo and had several hits. Prince Purple rain movie this group was his rival.

    IT'S PRINCE WITH HIS BOYS. Morris Day, Terry Lewis, Jimmy Jam all grew up together. Prince's homies since childhood. You can hear Prince in the vocals.

    You're on it.....Prince brought them together. They were all doing music in different groups. You can hear Prince all through this, and that was the look of those times. Jesse Johnson went solo, and his album was full of that "Minneapolis" sound. The Time has some classics under their belt. I love their muzak!!

    "MAD HOUSE"

    The Time were a rival band from them growing up together. He said when signed a record deal, he did it in a way where could bring them (and other folkx they played with--and write for them. But they are the band he said he feared in a competition because Morris was more of stickler for rehearsal than he was😂 The Time included Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis who go on to write tons of cuts for other artist, namely Janet Jackson who made it big with their writing and production her second album, "Control" that put her on the map.

    Only Prince could create his alter ego group, do all of music and trained them to the point where some nights on tour they kicked his ass. Who does that😂 I remember dudes who didn't like Prince saying they preferred The Time NOT KNOWING IT WAS ALL PRINCE. No matter what you wanted Prince had it on his shelf.

    Morris Day is the lead singer of The Time. He and Prince went to high school together and started making music together. Prince put The Time on his Paisley Park label. This is that Minneapolis Paisley Park sound! Prince discovered a lot of great acts like The Time, Vanity 6, Sheila E., and more.🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
