I know how reheating food affects food y’all… I’ve been eating since birth in case you ain’t know. And yes, I’m putting hot sauce on my food because I’m eating it the way I like it. This is for ENTERTAINMENT purposes. If you want to watch a chef with a trained palate test food… turn on food network! 😂

You can’t heat bread items such as cornbread, rolls, or buns no longer than 10-15 seconds in the microwave.
Also using a damp paper towel brings it back to almost normal

I haven’t been to OLG in about three years. When I dined in, I ordered the exact meal! However, I did not experience the cornbread being hard. The cornbread was actually good, I ate all of it 😂 Darn that sucks your cornbread was hard, it may have been sitting too long. Overall, the food was pretty good. I ordered the peach 🍑 cobbler for dessert and chileeee that right there was EVERYTHING, that’s definitely a hitter!! OLG is definitely for tourists to visit or a place where you would take your family or friends when they visit the A!
Last time I ordered from there it was mid 2021. The chicken was dry and salty. I'm glad to hear it was better this time. Some people don't actually cook soul food. My hubby was a Southern chef in the kitchen, so you could say I'm a bit biased.
See that's how I feel. Just because you're Blk doesn't necessarily mean that you can throw down in the kitchen with some soul food like my dear southern grandma or your husband hehehe! 😄 I've never tasted anyone's soul food as good as hers. She wasn't a chef by title or trade, but she sure was one to me! I miss her cooking so much! I haven't eaten the same since she passed on in the 90s.💔 And I can cook, but not even as well as her and she taught me how to cook. It's close but no cigar.

Not shading Frank's, but Texas Pete _is_ good. I usually reheat in the oven at 350 degrees to try avoid as much taste change as possible. I wonder if the quality dropped because they've been open awhile? Most restaurants try really hard in the first year they're open and then things slowly drop off to a _meh, it's still ok_ level. Seems like a quality consistency problem.

Now I'll bet that those 2 aunts can really cook their butts off..You can give people the recipe, but it doesn't mean that they can cook it as good as you can. I haven't tasted anyone's food yet that can touch my grandmother's or mine for that matter. 😄

In Grenville, SC there’s a restaurant called “ Southern Comfort” . The food is so delicious & made with high quality ingredients. It is for high end.
Well I am a chef! I went there when I was in Atlanta like OCTOBER of 2021. Went twice Friday and a Monday to see if the food would be consistent.
The drinks were lit 🔥 but food was definitely better the first time. Overall the experience was good!

I went like 2 yrs ago; everything was BOMB. Our food was cooked by Chef Melvin he came tobthe table and introduced himself and all I had a very pleasant experience 😀

I had that same plate on 3/10/22 at the actual restaurant on Peter's St. I did not enjoy. First of all, I got 3 pieces of ckn, not 4, lol. 2 legs and a thigh. (I absolutely hate legs). But the chicken was not seasoned/flavored enough for me and the legs were rubbery. I only ate one because I didn't want to be hungry. I gave away the 2nd one. The greens were not flavored/seasoned enough, my Mac and cheese was just decent. I actually liked the cornbread because it tasted EXACTLY like Jiffy. My peach lemonade was not sweet at all, and barely had any peach flavor. That was my first visit because I was taking a friend who was visiting from NJ. I'm good on them, I'll never go back.
try the greens before adding the the hot sauce this way you get the true flavor.

I would be upset with those two small pieces of unrecognizable chicken, little greens and mac & cheese. I don't eat anybody corn muffin or corn bread because I don't eat pork/lard. I can get Popeye's 10 pc chicken, hard biscuits (lol) and two large size for $22 Popeye's Offer.

I was there in July 2022 I wasn't that press about the food the chicken was dry the green beans wasn't hot enough the Mac & cheese was ok. But I did like that fried green tomatoes
When you have to add pepper sauce on a fry chicken then its not that good its sauce that make the difference its not well seasoning

I just went to OLG in Jan, this was my second time. The food is just okay. The drinks were better. The best part was that Aunt Nora sat at our table and chatted for like 5 minutes and took a picture with me. I don’t need a 3rd visit, I’m good lol

When you have to put hot sauce on everything you're eating you know the food ain't no good your first taste should be with no hot sauce that's when you really know if the food is good but when you have to pour hot sauce on everything you're eating you know the food ain't no good

If you warmed it in the microwave too long it will change the texture of the food.
I usually re-heat chicken or fish in the oven..keeps it crisp.

Fluffy cornbread? You like jiffy which is fake cornbread. You probably never had real scratch made corn bread which is not fluffy but more crumbly.
This is the same meal my daughter ate at the East point location and she had food poisoning! It was terrible! I was taking her back to college and we stopped their to eat straight off the plane. She was SICK! MY food was actually good, but I will NEVER eat their again because my daughter was sick, asf and I just had the bubble guts! Never again! Todd was there and he is so cute in person, he was just very small, he even opened the door for me!

When you’re doing a taste test you can’t put anything else on the food . You’re not tasting the natural flavor of the food. Everyone doesn’t favor the same taste because people who’ve been eating nasty food all their life doesn’t know what’s good to me. Yes the smacking was a bit much

I ve been there twice and the first time it was good (I went to the camp creek one) and then the second time went to the original olg and ordered baked chicken and it was bad. Like everything was BAD. I’ll try it again cause I love kandi but 3 strikes you out

Soul food have heavy flavors. You probably had a sensitive palette. My son was like that. Unfortunately, as you get older and eat random things, it dulls your taste buds so you have a higher tolerance for flavors.
