Preach! Some people get discouraged when they see someone who knows more languages than them but never got to see their process. Also there is no secret. Good things are coning for you! Keep going girl❤
Wanting everything yesterday literally expands to pretty much every aspect of our lives: instant music, instant movies, super fast internet, next day delivery, click and collect, 5 minute meals...the list goes on. A lot of people are forgetting what hard work is.

It’s the journey that will free you and lead you to who you are, it’s judgement, egoism and the race for power that will make you a prisoner and stop you discovering new lands
Thank you for this video Lina! This topic is definitely one that needs to be talked more about in the language learning community, because it is both those who have had lots of experience learning languages and those who have just started who are influenced by ego, not feeling good enough, criticizing, etc (myself included!). Learning what we want is a very personal journey and the noise from social media can definitely negatively effect all of us. I have followed you for a while and you are one of the influencers I really admire, even more so after this vid!
I was always thinking that I'm falling behind in language learning but now I'm happy with the little steps I take everyday to reach the goals I've set. I now enjoy the process. No more pressure anymore. Thank you so much. 👏👏
Muchas gracias por el consejo. No es fácil aprender un idioma y luchar con el perfeccionismo. Siempre suelo pensar que no soy lo suficientemente buena y que no aprendo rápido, pero todos somos diferentes, el punto esta en no rendirnos. Thank you so much for sharing content that it's realistic and encouraging. I'll probably struggle with Turkish and hebrew forever but I am sure that I won't regret it.
Good talk! Today I have my "motor" running. Yesterday my motivation was low, but I still "plugged" away with some language learning. Language learning takes time!! Cheers
Hi Lina. Thanks for further emphasising the truth and giving those that are learning languages some confidence. Learning a language is a marathon not a sprint. But most importantly is to not let other people’s judgement mar your love of learning a foreign language in the first instance. I especially agree with you that there’s the 10000 hrs behind the scene before achieving your goal. I speak French and I am forever learning new words/expressions etc but it took me quite awhile before I could speak French automatically and I still make many grammatical mistakes. In the end I realise that life is a journey and learning languages is a lifetime journey and don’t be a perfectionist ( I was very harsh on myself) but to enjoy speaking your target language. The objective is to communicate and have fun not a competition with others. Bonne continuation. Salut. 😍👍
Many times I searched videos about language learning struggles and one of yours popped up with the answer I needed. Thank you for making this honest video. You're not only a great teacher, but you also have a beautiful soul. I think you are right. "У нас есть вера". And that is our power.
Your videos are so high quality, you put in so much time and effort and i am just so happy to be able to watch and learn from you! ♡ never been disappointed by one of your videos. only inspired
Thanks for this Lina. As so often, you're saying what needs to be said in a very helpful way. The urge to compare is often so strong yet none of us can see the private struggles of the others. If we are comparing, it should be with our earlier selves. Let's see our lives as a voyage of growth and discovery and rejoice when we get to share a little or contribute towards the journeys of others.
I'm learning Italian because I love opera. I'm not planning on being an opera singer, I just love opera. I started learning Italian a year and a half ago and made friends with lots of native Italians. I'm even taking a shot at writing my own opera. I'm having one of my Italians write the libretto.
I really needed this. I'm a 2nd year French major who's also studying Japanese on her own. Sometimes I'd see some of my classmates who are already at a C1 level speaking bloody fluent French,it can be very frustrating coz they make me feel really dumb coz my french is nowhere near perfect and it has been hard to com to terms with that. This video really broadened my mindset, thank you.
I so wish I get the chance to meet you in person one day and tell you that out of all polyglots I have been following throughout the years you are the only one I can truly relate to! Thank you so much for providing us with such sincere and insightful videos. They are much appreciated in the Era of hype and everyone wanting to stand out as for little effort put onto things.
This is great advice (especially the part on egos). By the way, have you done an interview with Days of French n Swedish? If not, it would be interesting to see one.
I struggle with a 2 or 3 steps forward. one step back scenario in my language learning, but I hear that is normal. I am also a musician, which I think helps me accept that mistakes and corrections, because it is also inherent in music. I also find that the people who are the most critical of la gauge mistakes are those who are monolingual. So what do they know, really? ;) I enjoy the process and will let no one steal my pleasure.
Thank you for your motivational videos! I really needed to hear this right now. I have been working extra hard to improve my French (was supposed to go for 2 weeks last May), and now I feel like I’ll never get back there to use it. Thank You so much for this video! 💕
Your charm is irresistible!! You look energetic. You have a great smile. I love you!! I have a frustrating experience. Not knowing where to begin or hitting a plateau can feel demoralizing and make it hard to hit the books and study like you know you should…Having friends from other cultures makes me more creative. In fresh ways about space and how people create their own world and environment. It is best way to connect between creative thinking and cross-cultural relationships
You always have so good and true tips, its truly inspiring. I wondered if you could make a video about selfloving books? like the book you are reading now. I'm sure it would be helpfull for a lot of people. Have a nice day :)
Lina, thank you for the wisdom and inspiration that you provide. You have brought new life and motivation for my journey. Best to you and maybe someday we will meet. That would be so much fun.
Well thank you my Lady for such beautiful, sincere inspiration. We all need a boost of confidence and perseverance to continue the learning process of acquiring a new language, I'm sure it was tough for you at the beginning although some people such as yourself have the right attitude to achieve the goal. By the way you are an extremely beautiful lady
Спасибо, this is a deep knowledge that is required in any kind of profission, this deep knowledge wont make the long road short but for sure will alleviate its length and sevirity.
Спасибо дле видео. The frustrating thing for me is not neccesarily trying to be perfect, but at the least, be slightly better than before. Granted, I'm learning Russian, and after 8 months, with the last month emphasizing grammar, I still make the most cringeworthy basic mistakes.
When I reflect upon my learning journey with English and French, I often find myself regretting the way I learned, especially with French, since I'm not yet fluent. I keep wondering, could I have done it better if I had tried this or that?
Lmao just work..... Psychological state psychological warfare psychological torment independent housing away from abuse many factors come into play when it's actual work these days you have to wonder are you even allowed that time to yourself or are other people destroying it until your big enough to not get fucked with. All though now that I am big enough to not get fucked with I am studying a lot.
"We want everything yesterday"...the sole sentence that describes this day and age.
Spiritual awakening 👌🏾👌🏾
Well said, but I would go further..."We want everything yesterday... AND FOR NO EFFORT"
Preach! Some people get discouraged when they see someone who knows more languages than them but never got to see their process. Also there is no secret. Good things are coning for you! Keep going girl❤

That’s all that matters! It really does have to be that inner drive and passion and hope that gets prioritised.
