The "secret" to getting over the beginner hurdle is leaning forward slightly. Every beginner starts by leaning back to mitigate falling on their face. Just accept it's going to happen, lean forward a little, and you'll quickly find out how easy it is to turn.
I've been snowboarding on and off for the last 15 years and watching you this years has gotten me so pumped to actually improve myself this winter. I have never been so excited for snowboard season! Thanks for the videos.
@@EverywhereDrums man switch 360 would be amazing. I can properly ride switch, but even just a decent perfect straight ollie riding switch is so difficult. At least, that was last time, 'bout 2 years ago. Can't sleep now because tomorrow I'm finally on my board again, curious to see how much skill I lost. Anyway, switch 360 it is, will definately go for it
Dude, im from the Southeast so i dont get to go often. Im 30 now and started a few years back. I taught myself and really struggled with toeside. I watched a few of your vids and day 1 after 2 years of no boarding i was on toeside. Thanks a lot.
Bro you just described me 100% except I'm just now watching this video and I'm going to work on my toeside this season. I'm in Atlanta and usually go up to NC.
Here’s a video you should make: I see so many videos on how to carve or how to slide etc but I haven’t seen a video on when to carve and when to slide and what it actually looks like all put together going down a complete run. I think it would be great to see what it’s supposed to look like riding from top to bottom on your average resort run, just carving and sliding and whatever else you’re supposed to do to be proper.
I have to say, watching these vids prior to my first & second lesson, helped me tremendously to do all of the fundamentals needed to learn to snowboard. After 2 lessons, I’m able to do turns & was even able to do a blue run on the second day. Thank you for helping a newb fall in love with snowboarding because I was able to “get it” quicker.
wasn't able to ride as much over the past so many years until last season. when i finally started feeling like i was in snowboarding shape, i felt sloppy, almost regressing. watched your videos in the middle of last season, found the bad habits i picked up, corrected them and PROGRESSED! wound up riding like i was about 10-15 years ago. going to ride better than ever this year. that's why i'm watching! got me psyched.... thinking about driving to mammoth right now. you're awesome
The king of side hits!! I know you have to watch out for people more freestyling outside the park, but it's so much cooler to play around wherever, great stuff!
Hi Tommie, thank you for all these great videos that making us so exciting for the first snow this season, also thanks for the amount of technique you teaching us and the effort you putting on these videos.
I def need to find a new person to ride with, I need friends that are better riders, I love riding with all my beginner-intermediate friends but I don’t get to push myself that much with them
im a super beginner and have only been snowboarding once last season. your videos make me want to go more often and improve so i can do park and fun shit like that
Get a season pass and try to go 10+ times in a season with consecutive days in a row. The trips where I was able to go 2-3 days in a row, I feel like I saw the biggest improvements. Good luck dude! Once you get better, you get hooked for life.
Awesome videos! Can you make a video on how to catch an edge, showing diff types/directions/angles/possessions of the rider and the board? It'll be useful for many of us beginners & intermediates to watch out for. We all know there are only 2 edges but many ways to catch 'em. I recently caught an edge and dislocated my shoulder. Cheers!!
Love your videos, however if you organize you're videos a bit more into playlists, you'd likely get more traction later on, plus it would be easier to navigate. I look forward to more of your videos!
Hey Tommie, would so much love to how to progress do you have some guide for us? From beginner to to caring and jumps and tricks. What shall we practice?
You should go quicker than you think in my opinion. If you send it, there is a little more stability, but you really gotta go for it mentally. Breaking there is failing beforehand. Try something playful slowly on boxes and go what you know on rails
keep your upper body straight, above the heel edge or even a little bit behind and bend your knees more. Your knees being bent will allow you to press your heels harder, keep your CG lower and help absorb any bumps if riding in icy conditions. Sharp edges help too.
Hey Tommie, my family and friends are coming out there Dec31st to Jan7th. Can you tell me if there is maybe a 3 day pass that you can hit multiple parks with? I don’t want to only go to one with a 3 day pass, if I can hit more than that…..you’re killin the videos bro🤙🏻 thanks!!!

Totally true.
Gnarly tips
This is exactly me right now
As a beginner you are 100% right
Tea Pot style; back hand handle, front hand spout. Pour the tea, ride better.
I've been snowboarding on and off for the last 15 years and watching you this years has gotten me so pumped to actually improve myself this winter. I have never been so excited for snowboard season! Thanks for the videos.
Dude same for me. This channel has gotten me stoked for this season....and to finally switch 360
Snowboarding is really an art i like it a lot

I usually hit the mountains in the summer on the bikes! Going very soon in the snow. This is getting me hyped!!

I like to go fast and be awesome. Count me in!!
Could You please make part II of a snowboard maintenance video that you coped with Senna Leith?
Buckhouse needs to watch this video. I know he's a "pro" and all, but seems like he could really learn something ;-)
Haha. That’s hilarious. 😬😂
Tommy, don’t be mad….imma Rick that sweatshirt to support, but keep my Dragons. That logo of yours is dope.
Hi Tommie, where is the down jacket? Great to see you again in this new snow season
I’m going to learn switch this coming season
Sick little tricks hes doing. I like the style. Good style.🤙
Appreciate your video, well done.
1:16 that was fresh!

Love the videos keep up the good work any tips on board slides or just getting over the fear of rails as a whole.

Have you made that vid on job opportunities to snowboard more? I really want to quit my professional IT job and move out of Florida
Hey Tommie i wanna ask. Do you do streaching/yoga or other exercising. Great videos, keep going.
Best RUclips coach out there
This guy’s flow is insane
Hey Tommie, what's the average cost of your summer camp and usually how early is is?
the music volume should at least be in the same level as the talking volume. The music is wayyy too loud.
Hey Tommie, could you do a video on hardway rotations?? Specifically front 3s?? I tried finding one but doesn't look like you have one yet!!
What is your opinion about listening to music while on the slopes?
Carving and your favorite song are like peanut butter and jelly.
have a hard time heel stopping but find toe stopping to be natural, any little tips and tricks on body mechanics to improve on heel stopping?
keep your upper body straight, above the heel edge or even a little bit behind and bend your knees more. Your knees being bent will allow you to press your heels harder, keep your CG lower and help absorb any bumps if riding in icy conditions. Sharp edges help too.
For me, it helped to think of it as acting like I was about to go into a squat cause you wanna keep your knees bent so you can dig your heels in more.
hey Tommie, what size is your board? It looks short and nimble!
Great video as always :)
Love your vids bud! Just curious, do you ride a traditional camber board, or a rocker?
Yo Tommie, where are you riding? Most slopes are barely open. Going to Colorado next week and Breck isn't even open yet 🙃
Tommie, do you do lessons at keystone? I’m there 2-3 times per month, only my second year and trying to get better every outing.
When do the tame dog video come?
Hi Tommie! Which board do you ride this season?
Hey I just wanted to ask where you were snowboarding this video?
Tommie Bennet, how to ski video plz
@tommieb if I beat you to a double our deal still counts 😜
Where is that? Keystone? Breck?
cool video +1 thanks
Hey Tommie, I always wondered how long is your board that u uses, I'm about your height little lighter in weight.
Hi! What pants are you wearing? and which size?
Where can I get those black mittens?
Just checked my funny-mentals and they are a wreck
sidehit 360 god
When landing tricks/jumps are you aiming to land on an edge or flat?

"If I can snowboard 5 days a year" ... literally me :(

Where do you usually snowboard the most?
Hey Tommie, my family and friends are coming out there Dec31st to Jan7th. Can you tell me if there is maybe a 3 day pass that you can hit multiple parks with? I don’t want to only go to one with a 3 day pass, if I can hit more than that…..you’re killin the videos bro🤙🏻 thanks!!!
Hey Tommie, are you PSIA - AASI Certified? I am going for my Level 1 Specialist this year.
Hey Tommie, where is this ski resort?
Keystone in Colorado
Tindy means you found sick match on dating app right?! Not sure what that is but I know your steezy Tonmie ☝️
Chewbacca sounds
Not really snowboarding for a career, more like an escape for the day from my career.
Who’s going snowboarding this winter?
Meh too much fluff, not enough substance
Weakanessiz
Yoooo
Is It just me or does he land and are doing some great ground tricks but doesn't look good doing them?
It’s just you
You always get so much height off everything. Very cool 🫶
