I can’t remember the video but I saw a video of you doing steep terrain and it looked like you were tail pressing every turn, that changed the game for me tbh thank you for doing this and teaching everyone you’re a G I’m on my 2nd season and riding double blacks already. Never thought I could progress so fast
Came back to this vid cuz I’m bringing a buddy to ride for his first time on Tuesday, just tryna get myself re upped on the fundamentals. You’re the man
I've been riding for a long time and still have trouble with slipping out when stopping at high speeds, that belly button tip seems like itll really help.
Dude this guy throws tips and tricks that really make you change... I have learned/ taken so much from this Channel and actually implemented it in real life. and yeah .... dudes sick and a sick teacher
I really enjoyed the video. Help my understand when going fast it can be very situational with split second decisions, but overall having balance and control! Love the vids and guides!
wish I saw your video before I went snowboarding today. Slipped out many times -> thought I didn’t lean into the edge enough -> slipped out even more 😅 luckily, you just land flat on powdery bumps so not too painful, except once it was icy and I almost slides till the bottom 🥲
Hey Tommie, can you please do a nerdy snowboard sharpening and tuning vid. I really liked the nerdy waxing one. Keep up the good work. Love the content!!
glad I watched this recently before I went to Heavenly. Finally broke 40mph. :D Still need to work on my hip and knees on mogul runs, but super helpful tips Tommie. :)
I noticed you don't list your board in your gear... are you on the hometown hero here? A bunch of my boards are at the end of their lifespan and I am looking at the yes standard & hometown hero 160w or 165w. Never gone below 163 so I'm uncertain // I am 6'4" 210, with a 12boot... ride 23.5in apart in stance (-9/+12) on my everyday board. Used to be of that old school train of thought get a big wide board go big and fast, but recent seasons I've taken my all rocker jib board 164w into the trees and slashed around I realized the rocker keeps me afloat and the shorter board is super maneuverable and forgiving on trees & bumps. I do want to carve deeper so camber underfoot is a must on the next board. Anyways holler if you or anyone has thoughts! Thanks so much for making these vids!
Sometimes I get knocked off balance. Specially going through moguls. I’m definitely going to try your technique. I know I’m to tall or lean forward to the deception that I think I’m low. Any at home tricks to do till u hit the slopes?
@@dootdoot1867 yup. learrned to ride and still ride mount hood. went to utah last year and dipped off the groomers into some '' bumpy'' looking terrain and it felt super smooth. the boards nose just blasts right thru the bumps. colorado and utah dry snow you ride through it, cascade concrete and sierra cement, you ride ON the pow
This is probably a stupid question: is the there a way to fly through moguls like bump skiers? I saw one part of the video you were going pretty fast through it around the 13 minute mark.
Honestly, it would do potential viewers some good having this video labeled "for beginners/novice" since I think everything discussed here is fairly low-level in the progressions tree/ladder. I try to keep an open mind and watch a lot of content to find useful tips for improving my riding, but going over the importance of knee bending and weight stacking (which are interrelated) is fairly basic and should be one of the first things most riders learn to work on even before going fast. I was expecting some additional input about using up-unweighting on groomers for the high stability and/or using down-unweighting to help bleed speed and adding control in the bumps, but instead it can basically be boiled down to knee bending. I'm sure you have plenty more to offer than that.
So to go fast on flats should one just bend their knees on the down hill leading up to the flat? I have trouble keeping speed on flats or getting over the first roller in a series.
Is the exaggerated arms for display purposes or is that your normal position? You have the arm rudders looking like you're a noob, but then you pull off all this awesome flow and control, beautiful airs and landing smoother than cream. Great content with easily digestable tips to apply to the next session.
Use the heck out of your arms. Riding with your hands against your sides might look like you're super in "control" but in reality, you're not maximizing your body.
Maybe riding like that isn't noobish? I been doin it since day 1, its j they way my body reacts to keep me balanced and move the board appropriately. Eveyine has they own style, in my opinion arms are crucial
Dude, stop telling people to bend at the knees to bring their bellybutton down! Like squats, you want to bend at the waist by pushing your hips back, which CAUSES your knees to bend and you bellybutton to come down.
Outstanding camera guy, to be able to follow you at high speed through those moguls and video tape you is outstanding.

Bro, I watched your carving video and my wife, (a skier) was like holly shit you got so much faster this last time.
Question: in what situations do you want to be passive with bumps?
Great footage... keep it comin'

how to ride fast on bumpy terrain- do it in colorado or utah. soo much easier than on cascade concrete and glacier wind blown ice in the PNW
Just had a great time on some shasta cement.
WA represent 🤙🏼
Going fast down baker and whistler is a vastly diff experience from Breckenridge or keystone.

Hi. I am 5.10 height 170 ib in weight, what size lib tech orca 2021 I should get. Great video ,well and truly explained and stickers are brilliant
Probably a 150 or the next size up from that. I’m 5’9 160 ride a 150 and it’s pretty incredible
For an Orca you are gonna want around 154-157cm. Definitely don’t get anything lower since that is a big time powder board.
