Thanks for another excellent presentation on one of my favorite TVs at CES 2024! I just built our webpage on Samsung's new 2024 flagship Q900D 8K NEO QLED.
Awesome, Robert! I can't wait to film it in your stunning gallery location!

Would love a link to your page? Thank you 👍

@@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY Thanks Brian! 👍 And great job with CES this year! 💪👌 You always get the scoop on Samsung'S 900 line before anyone else. I know it's a premium line that doesn't get much love for a variety of reasons, but 8K/900 series fans do exist, even if just for the larger sizes. Thanks for giving us some love so we don't have to wait months for some info 🙏 Best to you for 2024 ✨
PS - any word on what type of panels? VA, ADS or ADS Pro?
Cheers 🍻
I’m glad that they’re pushing the technology forward on the resolution and focused on processing . Just curious what the processing will look like on streamed content and not curated demo material.
Duh I really get tired of people complaining about no 8k content or 4k content if a any k tv can take sd content and make it look like 8 k or 16 k or whatever or make compressed tv look super good that’s what is going to matter I don’t think a lot of people understand that
The sad part is that hardly any reviewer will show off the 8K Neo Qled. Brian will of course show it at Value Electronics. But not an in depth review with technical stuff will be done by any RUclipsrs. They don't even care. It's all just OLED for them. It's down to you Brian, you're our only hope, lol.
I'm happy Samsung has kept their 8K lineup. I'm using the 65" QN900B as my PC Monitor and I absolutely love it. As a PC Monitor, the 135 PPI at that screen size is indispensable. I might not game much at 8K or watch content at 8K, but for daily computing tasks like displaying web pages, text documents, and the OS desktop, you absolutely need the 8K at that screen size.
@leo7onfire great choice for your use case leo, I hope you doing great, OLED is definitely not suit your heavy usage
@leo7onfire wise call, thanks 👍
Given I just bought an 85 inch QN900c a replacement is not in the cards, buy if they offer the QN900D at 65 inches, that might be tempting for a monitor experiment....
Enjoying my 57 g9 neo at 140 ppi. It’s awesome. I prefer the 32:9 vs 16:9 for gaming when supported.
Yes the PPI but it's really how it resolves to PPD (pixels per degree). I'd love a 65" 8k on a stand set back from my pc desk someday but I'll probably have to wait on an appreciable price drop on the 900D from samsung's higher launch prices. Quads of 4k resolution would be great, but if the PPD is too high vs. a reasonable viewing angle and not sitting with my head right up against a wall, I might have to scale text up to more like 6k of desktop/app real-estate. That would still keep the un-scaled pixel density for graphics and imagery though, and the scaled text would be made up of more pixels per character too. Really, I'd love a 8k 1000R ark format. I also wish that DSC wouldn't disallow running other native resolutions 1:1 pixel mapped, letterboxed for gaming. Like 4k, 5k, 6k, and various uw/super-uw resolutions. Samsung's 8k screens so far seem to all force upscaling to full 8k screen, prob due to DSC (display stream compression). I'll be very interested in reviews (RTings, etc) of the 900D in regard to the amount of input lag with 8k upscaling on the set, rather than 8k upscaling via gpu DLSS. i.e. could you send a 4k signal from your gpu at 240hz and let the 900D upscale it with their new processor without taking an appreciable performance hit on the screen/game responsiveness. I haven't seen any info on this or heard any reviewer even mention it as a question or consideration so far.
This past couple years I've been like, oh I wanna replace my OLED with another one. Then I was waiting to see y'all do S95D v. G4 v. the presumably A95M. But now, Brian's gotta come in here and make me be like, well damn maybe this is the TV I want now 😂 Awesome video as always man!
Great content Brian I just wish Samsung would finally fix the one connect box , me my son who is a engineer and 2 of his engineer friends once they saw my sons tv bought one all 4 of us bought the s95c and all 4 had blackout issues, we all replace them with other tv manufacturers.
I had the same issues with my S95C 65". I removed my TV from the mount; now I'm using the included stand, shorter Fiber Optic cable, and FIBBR Optical HDMI 2.1 cables. My PC still cuts out at 144Hz, but I'm moving that to a different TV. The other devices work fine, but I can't wall mount the TV. It sucks, but it is what is.
Brian, you are spot on with AI Video processing. I have an Samsung 85 inch 900C. It has an outstanding picture due to AI Video Processing. Samsung has tremendous clout in Processor Design and they are well known for their Galaxy Smartphones.
Perfectly said my friend! Thank you for watching!
8k is not of interest at all - native 8k source; wheee??? sharp unveil behind closed doors was the real news for me
Ok😁
@@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY great coverage BTW - enjoyable presentation and thoughtful insight. Regarding tv for 2024 - will LG G4 83 inch overtake the current champ for 23 Sony 77 inch A95L?
@cestmoi7829 thank you for the kind words. The G4 at the same size will be a formidable competitor to the a95L. But at 83 g4 vs. 77" a95L it will beat it on immersion alone
@@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY insightful thank you 🤩 any thoughts on G4 processing and up scaling / motion handling for ‘24? Improvement over ‘23?
When will there be enough 8K content to justify buying a 8K TV. I certainly don't need all the content I like to watch upscaled up to 8K. 😊

And the new processor can upscale 1080p to 8k
@@ehenningsen But how good does it look?
This is michael. Excellent presentation, and I think you hit it right on the head. This third generation AI processor is going to be a game changer. QD OLEDs still have burn in on the 95C, and on LG's and Sony's top of the line 2023 sets. So I'm going this way with the Neo qled
That resolution cleanup is very noticeable. Probably not if you're watching it on a cell but on a TV it is! Looks great. I'm really interested in if it makes a noticeable improvement for 4k Blu rays
Awesome! Glad you enjoyed it!
Other than new chip NQ8 Gen 3 Ai has 512 neural network and is 4k/240 gaming , dont know if theres any other information, have to see if you have more knowledge and was able to talk to someone in there. Also the new stand made the illusion that tv flooting in the air mirror effect, thats pretty kool
The new information is the super resolution and seeing it which no other Samsung TV can accomplish my friend. I'm here to show it to you 😁
Thanks for your coverage on the 900 series. I had the 85" 900C and was loving it until one day the local dimming wasn't working (no black colors and cloudy/ washed out screen) so BB is picking it up tomorrow. I haven't decided on what to do, try another one hoping I got a odd bad panel, try the Hisense UX or just wait it out for another 6 months for a 2024 900D or maybe a TCL, Hisense 98"? Decisions, decisions 😅
I'm sorry to hear about your 900c . Personally, I'd wait. There Alot big jumps this year. Thank you for watching
I would personally wait and see the new Sony MiniLEDs and also the 900D with new Processing. So basically wait and see what 2024 offers.
Samsung is really weird. They completely neglect their 4K Neo Qled. They literally show the exact same Demo material with that girl walking around in colorful environments from last year. Not even a new demo. No information.
Yet they put all effort into the 8K lineup but they price them so damned high that the vast majority of people can't even afford them. For the price of a 65" 900C last year you could get the BETTER X95L at 85" . It was a terrible year for 8K and 900C in 2023. They were pretty bad and blooming and so on. Worse than 900B in many aspects. Never released the QN95C properly.
Now they do a huge OLED lineup with choices. What is their thinking and they constantly lose market share to Hisense and TCL. Because they price their own customers out of the market and hand them over to TCL and Hisense that offer 5,000 zones and 5K nits etc and WAY less price. Sure the processing is probably great on the 8K. I would even consider one. But Why would I pay 3x as much for them?
No for me it's X95M and hopefully the new Backlight which I am sure is coming out. Barring that I might even go for G4 instead. Samsung is becoming a brand I barely think of when it comes to TVs soon. All I ever hear about them is S95 TV. That is not my cup of tea and it's not for 97% of all Samsung Customers either looking at last years sale of QDOLED by Samsung.
Remember, in game mode, always go with OLED
LED TVs get screwed in game mode
Brian is there much difference in picture quality with this one and the qn800d?
Hi Brian. Very nice informative video. How was the black level on the new 8k ? What about blooming control? It's very annoying. Is this year any better?
It seemed very good, but it was very hard to tell with this demo material in a bright room.
@@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY Thank you for the reply 🙏
Keep up the good work 👏
@geofousteris2669 my pleasure as always my friend
It really feels like Samsung is just trying their best to get people to buy more expensive tvs. There is no demand for 8K and likely won’t be for many years.
Looks like the new battle between oversaturated colors and brightness tvs a the new thing now, how much brightness is enough for the human eye?
8k #HDR is amazing because it #upconverts and is Sharper
When will we get the industry standard 16K displays???
Does each 2024 set get AI Picture Picture Quality Upscaling?
Is it used same processer in qn 800D Or not please reply
800d goes up to 165hz
@@josh8k23please tell more information about Neo qled 4k Qn90D
The 900D and 800D should have the same processor but no other TV's in their line up will have it.
No major networks are broadcasting in 4k. Mostly, Netflix, RUclips TV, and Apple TV are showing 4k content, so why would I need an 8k TV at this time?
Was thinking of getting the x95l but I think I'll wait and check this one out. It looks amazing!
This tv is going to be a beast with visual and audio.
Any idea if they’ve managed to fix the mini led grid being visible on solid light blue content? The only gripe I have with my QN900b
Please make a comparison video about sony x95L vs Samsung Neo Qled 8k

I most definitely will! Thank you for watching!
Im choosing between this and the LG Z4 this year.
Im probably going with this one
Unfortunately no Z4 this year. The Z3 will be released and carried over. Which means it will be gen 9 instead of having the new processor.
Yo Brian great job at CES bro.
I'm on the market for a 75" or 77" OLED TV. What do you think of buying the 900C 75" at half price compared to its lauched price? Would you recommend it or the LG G3 77" for the same price?
G3 all day long
The 900C was very good but was easily beaten by it's own sibling S95C. G3 is the better TV. The 900d is a huge jump. Thank you for watching
Brian what did you think of the omage quality of the 110 Hisense and 110 TCL? Im not expecting Sony quality processing but have never owned either of those two brands.
Hi Samsung tv QN 900d recver tuner to tv dvbs2 or dvbs2x?
I think the 8k is gorgeous but I can bet even an 85" will be 6k or more. Too expensive especially since they don't last that long.
They definitely launch expensive . Thank you for watching
How long do they last? 😂
Another great video! I'm also looking forward to seeing their new line up of gaming monitors this year!
Thank you, my friend! The monitors are looking amazing as well.
8k upscale processing not available in game mode.
Some portion of it will be available but not the full AI super resolution.
The talk at CES for mini LEDs were about bigger TVs. What's the content going to look like at 720p and full HD from a 75" compared to a 115" TV?
That's when the seating distance becomes important. The processing is also important for upscaling that large if it's sub 4K. We will see. Thank you for watching
For me I think Hisense had more life around it Samsung looks dead like people don’t care anymore which I can relate to smh Samsung is dead who cares about 8k there is nothing in 8k
I used to subscribe to all these channels. Great advice that helped me select a Sony 77inch a80j. Absolutely loved it. Two months after the two year warranty ended, my panel went bye-bye according to the repair shop. So bummed I spent $4500cdn for two years of TV. I could have handled ten.
I'll watch and appreciate your channel and maybe in a year, risk it again. Until then, it's my 48 inch 20 year old Panasonic plasma.
Our Panny plasma still rocks !
Sorry to hear about your TV, my friend. Thank you for still being here
Having had the QN900A, for me the issue with color when compared to even an Apple Studio Display, is making me doubt this version. I hope this version is an improvement on the black levels too, the QN900A was often not great with black levels. No review out yet to see what the backlight controller improvements are for this years model and promo material is all very bright.
Once you have seen 8k content you wont want to go back to 4k. The 900c I own is also a superb tv
I love my 900C as well. I almost wished I had waited for the 900D for that upscaling. I care much more about 4k to 8k upscaling than anything else since there's almost no native content.
However, that's tech for you. Always something amazing around the corner making current tech obsolete, lol
I agree, I almost wished that I waited for the 900D for the upscaling.@@buenasondas1147
Hows the blooming?@buenasondas1147
Is there a difference in sharpness due to 8k resolution vs 4k?
@@avijitjha1614 there's almost no blooming whatsoever. There is a bit of overall screen dimming in extreme scenes with a huge bright object on a completely black background. It's not bad looking and doesn't bother me since content doesn't look like this 99.9% of the time. 8k from 4k is noticeable on large screens, with native content. There are a fair number of 8k RUclips nature videos etc, and a few with fashion models ;) that look great. Some of the 8k channels look better than others.
If you want the best miniled you have to look at sony and its future x95M, or hisense and the ux. Samsung has lost its way a long time ago
The micro led are said to be resolution free, so not 8 k or 4k. What exactly does that mean?

Even on Netflix it’s not even true 4K in my opinion the only reason to upgrade is because of the newer processor in theses 4K & 8K tv other than that it’s the same through the naked naked eyes .
We'll have to see how well that image upscaling does with 4k to 8k content😊

As 1 who keeps there TVs for 10+ years. I saw the Q900C dropped lower than the price of A95L. With that being said….which one in your opinion lol?
The 900C is very good however it was beaten badly by the S95C. The A95L would only beat it worse with superior upscaling. The 900C only wins in a very bright room and a larger size.

Bro, who is brighter in HDR Z9K or QN900D ? Is the QN900D actually noticeably brighter than the QN900C? Samsung shows everything beautifully at the stand, but as we know, manufacturers often deceive at exhibitions
Seems everyone is stepping up in the mini led game. Glad you covered these! They flew wayyyyy under the radar on RUclips. The first video you showed made the panel look like a window. Do these 8Ks actually look That Much Better than 4K resolution? Like 1080p to 4K but SO Much Better?? Thx.
I purchased the 85" QN 900c 4 weeks ago... I sent it back for a few reasons, nothing major though ,the narrower pedestal plinth makes the tv very unstable indeed, HD content was poor, rough looking,4k streaming great,4k bluray disc, amazing now l paid £5250 = $6700 USD this TV is NOT worth this amount of money and to be honest l wasn't a fan of the bezel less frame, now l am a die hard Samsung fan l have a 98" QN90A and a 85" QN95B,55" QN90B,in my home all great tv's best being the 98" QN90A....Samsung need to lower the starting/launch prices of their 8k tv's so more folks will them as of now they are a niche TV model if they lowered prices a bit more sets would be sold 😀
That was a big thing.. the 8k screens didn't look better than the 4k ones. On the same content, they were reportedly slightly worse looking even. That's what the new AI upscaling tech in the 900D has potential to change. Nothing to do with the 900C though.
Price wise, yeah, because there isn't competition in pricing and features from other manufacturers in the 8k segment unfortunately. Very disappointing to me how the freeze on 8k played out.
omg the plosives! pop filter please
I'll get right on it! Thanks for the feedback
Taking heads. Brian, can we see your TV?
Is it still impossible to disable upscaling and therefore it is basically useless as a desk mounted gaming monitor as everything will always be 65" when gaming in fullscreen even if you set the resolution to QHD or 4K?
I'll have to see when I get it home my friend. Thank you for watching
What is the native HZ of the 900D screen? Can it do 240hz without cutting the vertical resolution? Does the one connect box on the 900D even support a 240Hz (4k) signal directly? In short, is it interpolating to 240Hz internally or is it accepting a 240hz 4k signal from the PC gpu and displaying that hz 1Hz : 1Hz (yet upscaled to 8k) ? According to flatpanelsHD, the native screen resolution of the 900D is 144hz, but they list a "one connect 240Hz Mode". If the panel itself is "only" 144hz, does that mean samsung is using some halving of the vertical frame rate like TCL 8k's do to achieve higher Hz? - or maybe it's using some kind of frame doubling like the game boost mode for consoles on modern LG OLED gaming TVs do (typically for 60fps console games though) - and they are counting the doubling of 4k 120hz as "240hz" ?
Waste of Money Why Bother ....TCL and Hisense 1/2 Price
Cost plz
Pricing pricing pricing will always be the big story
Hey man when you get one to test, any chance you can hook it up to a top end PC to see the 240hz. Im dying to know how this will compare to s95c for pc gaming. I use this oled for it atm
If you sort by newest first, you'll see my reply just before this asking about it. From what I saw on flatpanelsHD's listing of this screen at least, it appears to have a 144Hz native screen unless they listed it wrong. The flatpanels HD spec sheet does list a "one connect 240Hz mode" but that might mean it's doing frame doubling or something, like modern LG OLED gaming tv's do for 60fps consoles games with LG's "game boost mode". If that's the case, (unlike nvidia's AI frame generation generating an "in-between" frame state) you wouldn't get any more motion resolution, motion articulation (more dots per dotted line curve, more unique animation cells in an animation flip book that is flipping faster). So that would be a little disappointing. However you might get less input lag compared to 120fpsHz or 144fpsHZ . . and you'd probably get less FoV movement blur (half as much at 240fpsHz compared to 120fpsHz due to cutting the sample and hold blur, otherwise known as image persistence). The game boost mode on the LG OLEDs doesn't add input lag, in fact it reduces it compared to the non-doubled (60fps) version. More "flipped page"s, even if it's the same "drawing" twice, should still cut the blur by up to half at least. I wonder about how it will actually work and look forward to detailed reviews of PC gaming on it.
EDIT: the game boost mode on LG gaming TVs only boosts 60fpsHZ to the 120fpsHz native of the panel, so if the 900D is 144Hz native that wouldn't work. So idk how they are supposed to get 240hz if flatpanelHD's native resolution listing of 144Hz is correct.
can someone please tell me when the new 2024 tvs come out
Let's see if samsungs 8k processing can match or exceed xr clear at 4k.
Surprised that there was only like 2 levels of backlight control on most lcds. Sonys more granular control will make it harder to be accurate maybe.
Just wait until you see Rob Brennan of Sony explain the new backlight next week
I'm confused. Why would more granular control make it harder to be accurate? Wouldn't the point of adding more control be to improve accuracy for different gradations?
@@buenasondas1147 bc the color has to change with each level. Lcds lose their color accuracy with back light control.
Another excellent video Brian! 2024 looks to be a more promising year than expected. So I’m looking to upgrade my 65” LG C8 sitting between 10-12’ depending on the seat. I was set to get a 77” A95L but your opinion of this X95M Sony MiniLed seems intriguing. Is there going to be a 75” and how would it compare to the A95L for sports, gaming, and movie watching? Sound will be handled by my 5.1.4 Revel system. Thanks!
Could you send a 4k signal from your gpu at 240hz and let the 900D upscale it with their new processor without taking an appreciable performance hit on the screen/game responsiveness? I haven't seen any info or marketing detailing this, and I haven't heard any reviewer even mention it as a question or consideration so far.
So far the samsung 8k's haven't been able to run other resolutions natively, letterboxed either afaik. So you can't run 4k, 5k, 6k, and various uw resolutions letterboxed 1:1 pixel. I think due to the screens forcing DSC (display stream compression) , any signal will be upscaled to 8k full screen.
This would be the hope my friend. I'll know very very soon. Thank you so much for watching.
The 8k 60Hz 900c at 120hz 4k was rated at 6ms input lag by RTings which is great imo, but I'm very curious if the new AI chip would make that 4k "look more like 8k" when upscaled, and if using that chip, if any input lag is added. I guess I'm even wondering if the AI upscaler is going to be used at all in game mode for 4k 240hz? and if so, at what cost if any in increased input lag. Idk how good the 4k gaming at 240Hz would look, if upscaled without the chip, but I've never seen 4k 120Hz on a 900c to compare that even. Very curious. Looking forward to reviews when it's out. @@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY

Seems like 2025 should be an interesting year in that every company should come out swinging with way better processing now that they will have gotten a chance to see this chip and sony's chip. Good for anyone buying a TV then 👌
We saw it with 4k, it's pointless to upgrade until it's semi supported and semi mainstream. You just end up paying too much for something lacking enough features and future proofing.

What would be nice if it had an auto AI upscaling sensor that could automatically detect lower than 4k resolutions and apply it.
I suspect that is what it has. It will automatically upscale ANY content to 8K or as near 8K as possible. That is what the AI and 512 Neural networks are for. They would clean up the image. "fill in the gaps" so to speak to recreate the image as clean and as 8K as possible and that would include any resolution.
They are only getting better each year.
Would love to have one. Out of my budget!
Ein Panasonic in diesem Design wäre ein Wahnsinn . Schade das die Technik und das Bild nicht an Panasonic ran kommt
This was better than Hisense 110 inch TVs?
Got the QN90C Love it replaced a Samsung first 55 inch Curve tv which still works, love my upgrade.Hope this last as long as my curve,no 8 yet look great!!!! Thanks for ur work!!!!😊
Awesome Paul! So glad you are loving it ! Enjoy, and thank you so much for watching!
I want this tv… hopefully I’ll like it.
Samsung is dead to me now that they went back to pushing low contrast led 🤦♂️
Hopefully, it changes this year, my friend
I would like to have smaller size is. 32 or 40 inch
They do have ultrawide 8k monitors. However that size makes little difference with 8K. Thank you for watching
Is that a 98 inch 8k tv to the left of the 85 inch?
I’m looking for a 65 inch good gaming tv thanks
My pleasure! Thank you so much for watching
Chinese brands push for size and Samsung for 8K
Finally a review on the QDleds brilliant
Hey Brian tech therapy do u think thank samsung will win this year apart from tcl and hisense
Great video Brian. Im a bit like..."Why arnt they putting a better processor in the top end 4k models? Will the 8K look better than the new 4k tvs then Brian?
I bet they’re trying to stretch things out until next year or 2026 for the newer processor, plus to boost 8K sales.
@@icemanandbobtechandgaming Sounds about right!
Outstanding video…. I will own one this year
@leo7onfireI’m a tv tech junkie… I’ve owned them all
Sony better
As always
Actually, I wish my Xbox Series and Ps5 did a lot of processing for streaming. Those GPUs and CPUs could deliver Trinnov equivalent levels of AI and supersampling if they used them to that effect.
That's why people use the NVIDIA shield for streaming my friend
@@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY yeah but I already own 2 devices that are 10x more powerful and can upscale better than anything that'll hit the market over the next 5 years. For Xbox, it's a no brainer to increase sales of xss and xsx since they'd be super fast media and streaming players and there'd be no need for Apple TV or Nvidia shield.
@@BRIANSTECHTHERAPYYeah I just did a deep dive into the AI features of the Nvidia Shield. Do you use one? It's really impressive and I wonder how Sony's processing stacks up against it.
With all their processing capacity that's lying dormant while I'm using my Google TV, the consoles would have a party with streaming apps.
Actually, it'd be even cooler if both the PS5 and the Xbox Series X worked together to upscale it even more 🤣
Kinda like bi-amping your speakers but in this case AI bi-scaling!
