The road to south of france is so beautiful. The most beautiful moment for me is always when you see the mediteranean sea the first time. And the air smells so good, omg! Monaco is like a total different world. There is so much money that it doesnt even matter anymore. Thats pretty cool and the feeling is just unique!
Maybe next time do England 🏴 to Australia 🇦🇺….it won’t take you 16 months to get here like Captain cook but would be fun.🤩

Great video both, really well edited, enjoyable to watch.. reminded me of the Monaco roadtrip I did a few years ago with a neighbour in his 911 and 6 other decent motors. Brilliant time. We stopped over in Dijon and then St Tropez though before Monaco, via the Napoleon Pass, then Lake Annecy for a night on the way back. Incredible trip, superb memories. Your M140 is 🔥👌🏻, I've just bought another one - 2018 Shadow in EB with manual box. Love it. I'm almost 50 ! 😄. Keep up the good work Luke

Curious to know how much the public transport cost and the m140i fuel ?
Around €350 in fuel for the M140i, and around £300 for transport from memory
@@hampshirephoto If you're travelling as a group of people the car is really unbeatable cost wise
The B58 is the best, you can tune it to 630/730bhp, and it's still as usable and reliable as always. 10/10 to you too.

I did this journey in my Golf 6 R but went via Luxembourg, Germany (Autobahn) Austria, Switzerland and Italy via Stelvio pass down to Lake Como. Around Milan and then down to the South of France.
It took me 2 weeks and saw some amazing places. I drove back via Disney Land as I took the kids.
The 2 week trip including Euro Tunnel crossing, fuel, Air bnb, food and drinks cost me just over £2,000
Best 2 weeks of my life and the cheapest holiday I've been on.

Did you just drive past Luxembourg, Germany and Milan or did you stay there for a few days as part of the trip?

Seemed like you were very much behaving yourself on the road (that we saw anyways). I have to wonder if being a little heavier right-footed would make much of a difference. I can’t even imagine how quick yours is; mine’s a 480bhp manual 3dr and already stupidly quick. Impressively I can still get 41mpg+ cruise control at 70 in eco mode (yes eco 🤢). Love this channel and your M140i vids! Hopefully we’ll see some more challenge videos in future.

Enjoyed the vid, gutted you and the car lost, especially when the driver has to concentrate and be focused the whole time compared to public transport, but I'd always choose the car, all car lovers would.

I’d of been on the peddle in the 140i forger the speeding you’ll only get a little fine of about £12 lol trust me i no,so you could of absolutely smashed it on the times
top tip - recline your seat forward if you are short so you don't need to lean forward to park or maneuver all the time. Your back will thank you.

What difference does the HP of the car make? All cars can make the highway speed limits these days.
It makes a huge difference and trust me there’s plenty of opportunities to safely push on. Plus that power is great for overtaking. I’ve got a tuned M140i so I know full well what this epic car is capable of.

Why not Eurostar to Paris?
Eurostar schedule didn’t allow for it, plus getting from central Paris out to the airport is almost impossible due to really poor transport links, so much easier to approach from Lille on a local TGV train

There are 8,000 miles of autobahn and 70% have no limit on speed for cars.
The longest de-restricted stretch of autobahn is 150 kilometers long on the A24 between Hamburg and Berlin FYI.

What kind of wheels are you running??? Those are beautiful
Would your car have been more suitable in standard guise? I’d expect 33~35mpg from my M240i which could have removed the need for a fuel stop (or two) with a range of 350 miles or so. Saying that the next logical conclusion would be a big diesel car with a monster tank and I don’t think that’s what I’d choose for the trip either! Another excellent piece and more like this please!
