Sorry it’s been 2 weeks to get back to you…we kept the edges straight from factory. There is a 1/8” lip on both sides of the 1x8 to the 1x10 on each side, you cannot see that detail from the floor. Let me know if you have any more questions! I’ll get back to you faster than this time! Have a blessed day 😎
Thank you so much! Appreciate your time watching and comment! Also appreciate watching you most mornings when I have the time getting ready for the day! The wood used is Hemlock. The same wood used for the mantle and the handrail...looks real clean once all is stained the same color! This video was taken just a couple homes up from where you are at, the ranch home with 2 garages...hope you still love your new home and are enjoying those views from the back deck! Great hearing from you! Have a blessed rest of the weekend!
@@huntercarlson5446 thought I was incognito. 😎 Lol Found your channel a few months ago and realized you were working in our neighborhood. We've been doing a bunch of DIY trim work in our house. Videos have been super helpful. Guess what, now my wife is looking for a place to add a few beams. 😁😁 Cheers!!
Lol, you thought! But the secret stays with me...😉 yea I noticed a bunch of material being delivered to house a while back! Glad you and the family are doing some projects around the house! The source for my material is Alpine Lumber Millwork off of I-70 and Tower, they can help get any material delivered to your house, no account needed...might be better pricing than Home Depot or Lowe’s as well. Please reach out with any questions! I would be more than happy to stop by one day as well, I live in Parker and am constantly in and out of Castle Rock! Appreciate what you do for this beautiful state!
We have a rip of 3/4 MDF glued and nailed to the ceiling for our “cleating” material…I know that MDF isn’t the strongest, but for hollow beams its definitely enough support to hold them up there! I don’t always order the material for these projects, DR Horton does…I completely agree with you! If I had 2X material I would have used that instead. I’ve already cut my labor costs by 7% this year to stay on with DR Horton so it’s hard to spend any personal funds on material…hope you kind of understand my view…thanks for commenting and watching a couple of my videos!
I thought the same..you can’t see the mdf cleat in the video but mdf or anything works as long as you have a nailer..what kind of laser do you use for your long measurements?? Is it accurate? Great video, new subscriber & I smashed the like with my sledge
Unfortunately I have only done a few projects with stair risers and skirtboards...there will definitely be another in the future, but nothing scheduled now...the next time I have the chance I will totally get some footage!
Some pretty acrobatic scaffolding technique. The beams look very nice.
You guys do a awesome job . Master carpentry it's awesome.
If you ever have any questions please let me know! I would be more than happy to try and give you my opinion or help with a project in the house 😎
Did ya'll keep the 1x10/1x8 material square on the long edges or did you 45 them to make the box? I couldn't tell by the video. Thanks!

Beautiful gents
Beautiful
Thank you so much! Appreciate your time! Have a blessed day! 😎
There is nothing holding them up? Why did you not run a 2x first to give you something to nail to?

They are getting so much for these homes it’s a shame you had to cut your labor costs! Love the videos

If possible, I would love to see you guys do stair steps and the skirtboard!
