If you'd told me a week ago, before I discovered this channel, that I'd spend about an hour or more every night watching sewage getting cleared out of blocked drains I's have said you were mad, yet here I am again....

That is why you always jet the whole line regardless of if you think you got the plug or not. So you don't have to do 3 tries to be sure.

Have you ever sent the high pressure hose too far and ended up in the toilet?
@@scroggg I think that's what this plumber was trying to avoid, those tiny nozzles can go too far and into the toilet and smash it. I don't like those nozzles and would only use one of them to get through a blockage if a larger one like a root cutter wasn't getting through.

My neighbour tried jetting his own drain with a karcher drain jetter adapter hose, but he sent it too far up and it came out of the toilet and the metal nozzle smashed his toilet, he flooded his bathroom. I had to reboard and skim the room below the following day. Good job anyway guys well done .
I can only imagine what his wife had to say about that xD
His wife went absolutely ballistic! This happened during lockdown as well, so finding a toilet wasn’t easy either.

I was kind of surprised you didn't run the hose up further the first time, then the 2nd time.
I knew it wasn’t cleared that fast. He only ran the jet up there for like a min. Always seems like he’s conserving water, even when there’s a supply around.
Same, I knew it wasn't cleared because Ratty from over at drain addict told me. The rat always knows.

Congratulation on finally solving the issue. I am curious why you didn't send the camera in to check the reason for the blockages. Possible broken pipe, roots or foreign body.

Good lord, it must stink like crazy with all those openings.....wow !! I understand it but that wouldn't fly here in the states. Our lines and clean outs are all underground and buried.......and a pain to clean out, where yours are much easier to get to........but DAMN.......it's got to smell !!! We never smell a thing until it's worked on !!

Does pouring disinfectant down the sanitary system mess with any of the microbs at the treatment facility?
Might be a coincidence, but when we last had the council rat catcher out, he put his bait onto a piece of wood like that across the manhole, as he said it was better to kill them outside the house than in.
That reminds me. I must get some peanut butter tomorrow.

This was a real turd of clog hey!?! *Persistence; great job!* Suggestion? I understand it may not feasible every time, but a tripod would be great on many of your videos. Just edit out the video portion of the trips to the van while keeping the audio; then if necessary, describe what you need to do or did at the van, and do a "voiceover" as needed where the tripod is set up. Just a suggestion to let ppl see better w/o all the movement. Again *great job* and new subscriber.

I'm guessing to minimize the smell a bit ? And to try to dissolve anything that might try to clump (Not sure how strong or what chemical he uses to disinfect soooooo can't really say if it is a real bonus/reason to use it)
*You can see in the 3rd and final go two big wads of something came out - I reckon someone flushed massive wads of paper down there, too much for the piping to handle*
do you need a qualification to do this or can you join fresh off the street and learn on the job, av always found this interesting and somthing I think I would take pride in getting a blockage cleared and clean.

Whilst you were unblocking, did it not occur to you to unclog the left-hand side as that was also partially blocked?

Ive been wondering why you pour the disinfectant in - does it dissolve fat?
No it kills the smell, And cleans the area
I quite often disinfect my poo before I flush the toilet to send it on to the sewage works nice and clean
Is the water pressure that horrible everywhere in the UK? I guess I'm spoiled but damn, i can piss faster than the faucet can fill the bucket.

Varies but not that badly, the attachment for the hosepipe doesn't help in this case.
The water pressures coming out of those jet nozzles will cut through some of today's plastic sewer laterals and mains that a clogged sewer will the be the least of someone's plumbing problems.
Scientists have said that the most difficult thing in the world to flush down a toilet bowl is a ping pong ball.
This is due to its hollow, air tight centre.
After seeing the wood in the manhole I believe the garden fence is more difficult!
