  • I spent $1600 trying to blind people so you don't have to.
    Just get one of these:
    The king $200 + $100 for body: hrttacticalgear.com/product/h...
    modlite.com/collections/light...
    One-stop TACTICS $310: modlite.com/collections/handh...
    Budget option $25: www.aliexpress.us/item/325680... (CULPM1.TG option)
Let me know in comments how many times I said some variant of "tactic"

This video deserves more likes and your channel deserves more subs (you earned both from me). I teach low light classes and you literally took the words out of my mouth when I relay information on lights, minimum thresholds for outputs for a defensive flashlight, as well as the unrealistic choreography of flipping the light via Switchback in a defensive situation.

Great video! Wish I had the funds to test like this. Love seeing stuff tested. I ended up with the Cloud Defensive lights. Combination of simple Ui, power, programmable, and their lifetime warranty. As long as I don’t run into flickering issues I feel solid in the choice.

I have been on the exact same hunt for the "best" high candela, simple UI, handheld flashlight and ultimately have come to the same basic conclusion. The Modlite OKW and PLHv2 are tight, both literally and figuratively. The HRT AWLS is a monster, but with a considerably shorter track record than its competition. And now with the SureFire EDC2L-DFT Turbo out, we have another strong contender in the market. My OKW rides in my pocket most days, however all of the lights I purchased have a place in the arsenal.

Great video man. Thank you. Have you had a chance to check out the Goonbeam assault light? They claim 1800 lumens/110k candela... Let me know what you think. I have one and it's pretty crazy light for the price.

A good light paired with fox labs works wonders for annebriated people

I see awls make their own handheld now might be a better budget option vs a modlite

You should check out the modlite hog with the OKW HEAD

  • @RyanRBurns

Sir, do you have the link for the modlight body you recommend? Also, can I buy the 18650 rechargeable battery from modlight too for this setup? Great vid

  • @Unstoppable2174

Did you have any issues putting the HRT head on the modlite body? I recently got the HRT light head and it doesn't seem to be up to the manufacturer specs. Just curious what your experience was.

Do you know if any of the Convoy heads will work on the Modlite body? Or any other similar, inexpensive options that I could put on a Weltool or other Surefire compatible scout light body? I know of the psf-mk6, but looking for something closer to the $15-45 range if possible. Thanks!

If the size of the HRT AWLS PSF-Mk6 doesn't matter to you then the Convoy M2 should be in your recommendation instead of the S21B.

And I have to disagree about the CD getting so hot it burns you in ten seconds. Also about their button being hard. And if you need a lower output for walking around your neighborhood, you can set it to Hi/Low or Low/High. If their programming mode is too difficult for some, I just don’t have words. I’ll make a video testing your temperature and hard button claims.

Power tac? Or How about A.E lights.
