Camille is a star, and I'm rooting for this to work. As the kids say I love her aura. I think Novelists are still trying to figure out the right combination of their music with her voice, which makes sense because this sound is pretty unique within the space it operates. A true pop singer with a djenty prog band.
Apparently he has learnt the screaming over the last 12+ months so is still new to it. That's a terrifying thought as she's incredible live and recorded.
one of my favorite things about music is when you can feel a band that you enjoy start to "figure it out". these last 2 singles to me feel like this band is starting to find their sound with this new singer. i loved this and ko especially and im excited for them if they keep moving in this direction
The song is so fun, had my head bopping so quickly. I like the guitar personally, I love how subtly Novelists mash in their amazing guitar work on songs in a way that it's not egregious. Absolutely said the same with the synchopation - at first I thought polyrhythms but then realised it was synchopated.
Looks like Lady Gaga, sounds like early 2000s Kelly Clarkson mixed with a little Katy Perry. With instrumentals similar to Rammstein and Electric Callboy. The Eddie Van Halen nod in the solo was chef’s kiss.
😂 I mean I’m not into the intricate details of mad guitar solos. I like what guitars can do more in terms of chord progressions that support melodies. But “a guitar guy” tends to be someone who focuses mainly on guitars within songs.
Yesssss! I always felt the soft outro at the end of Mourning the Dawn reminded me so much of the outro of Last Hope by Paramore, and then I watched an interview Camille did and she confirmed Hayley was a huge influence on her.

Camille doing Rick Astley at 1:47. Great song.
I can't believe they're getting hate, Camille is fr a gift to metalcore
fr indeed

Pierre is amazing guitarist
His very technical
Guitar lick at the end of the song
Is pure master class ❤🔥👏👍

"Fashion-core", and I love it
Absolutely love Novelists! They were amazing live and such incredibly nice human beings.
I’ll never understand disliking a short guitar solo that much lol
You have to listen to K.O. that they released along with Coda. One that brings me back to the Souvenir album days.
0:55 "lovely sequence of notes!" I'm gonna use this one whenever a friend shows me new music lmao
Fantastic song and video!! Blown away

LOVE this reaction 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
❤ So much elements in this song! And all works fine... witchcraft
Camille definitly put this band to an absolutely higher level! 11/10
This gives me Thornhill/Spiritbox vibes
"I'm not a guitar guy"....has 3 of them hanging on the wall.....LOL
😂

@@SteveOGRock I got ya
I adore this track but that gospel vocal Okapi still has me in such a chokehold
4:00 reminds me of Hayley Williams. I get huge Paramore vibes from some of the vocals.

Love it!
My favorite band 😍🤘🏻🔥
Chris Turner has a new track out -10k. Definitely one to check out, especially given he's an alien on the drums
Camille makes this band for me; yes the guitarists are freakishly good and I fully appreciate them, but man I love her she is a star.
Glad you ended up mostly diggin' it
🇫🇷💛🇫🇷💛🇫🇷💛🇫🇷
New novelists and Landmvrks within 1 day 🙂↕️🙂↕️
❤
Novelists make me happy to be French lmao
I second that
This is exactly what the genre needs, more women at the forefront.
If you don’t like guitar work or songs that take huge detours novelists is the wrong band for you lol.
Nah it's clearly backwards compared to NOIR.
Novelists was amazing with Souvenirs, Noir and C’est La Vie. They’ve sucked eggs since.
