Coda feels like they finally cracked the formula on blending the pop elements with the old Novelists style. The damn chorus is gonna be stuck in my head for weeks lol. Her vocals also sound 10x better. On the last EP they sounded pretty dry but they mixed them much better here.
New Novelists fan here. Saw them live recently and was blown away. Pierre and Camille are great additions to this newer lineup. I didn’t get into the band earlier when they had other members but I do appreciate their old sound now too. Their new sound is more up my alley though. So melodic and catchy
Besides her vocal quality, Camile is a great visual performer too. Her moves are mesmerizing and seems like every little thing is intentional. Like, at 5:14, look at how she sings while she poses her feet preparing for the next section. The video is full os these little details that are so fun to watch and notice.
I only hear the similarities with old Spiritbox like Perennial and the Spiritbox EP, but Novelists with Camille doesn't really sound like modern Spiritbox, it's literally just because they both have female vocalists
The courage they had to release this material is honorable. This is a completely different band now. This song (Coda) is going to be their launching point to the mainstream. I asked AI if the band is trending upward or downward, and it was clear that they are trending upward. It said they have garnered an 8% gain in listeners already from this song and that 19% are unique listeners (new fans).

Both songs are great, but i love K.O. more and its been on repeat. Camile's voice is incredible 🤟
Love CODA. Liked your reaction too - this is the song that brought me to your channel. You got a new subscriber
Novelists are great, truly, but my god she gives them that BIG sound.
My favorite band 😍🤘🏻🔥
Blues-core ❤🔥👏
🎉
Coda reminds me of paramore meets spirtbox no offense.
That’s a compliment lol
Huge compliment!
I hear people comparing the band to Spiritbox but honestly Spiritbox has nothing on Novelists instrumentally both are totally different in every way

Coda is great, KO is gorgeous-but I think they could have left out the harsh vocal bits on that track.
I also love KO more, but I'd say I like the harsh part, it goes really well with the lyrics, very hardcore emo. love it.
