    Great information. Something I found just by dumb luck when setting the center shot. I was looking for a clear piece of plastic so i could eyeball the arrow through it and mark the distance between the riser and the arrow front and back. happened to have the clear plastic from inside of a CCI .22 100 round plastic box and figured with all those holes it would be easy to see arrow shaft. As soon as I pressed the edge of the plastic against the riser you could see from the holes the shaft needed to be moved to the left.. then i checked for horizontal alignment and it was perfect. i keep that silly piece of plastic on my bench to this day. it gets me really close in a fraction of the time it did when i used other methods

    Great video. I think a lot of people get the tuning steps out of order and it starts to get confusing, so this really helps. One question about nocking point. I know you said center shot left to right and i know you said the arrow should be 90 degrees on the string. The question is: Where should a standard diameter carbon shaft be, in relation to the Berger hole (location on the string)? Do you recommend the bottom of the arrow intersect the center of the hole or should the hole be dead center of the arrow? hope that makes sense.

    Hello... Thanks for this great video! I just bought a riegn 7 and the tech at my local shop said that these bows should have cam lean. That its set from the factory. I can't find any other info on this. Have you ever heard of that? Should I make sure there is no cam lean? Thanks.

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  4 года назад

      Yes it should have lean. There are charts in their website how much lean there should be and where a laser dot should land if used to measure how much lean it has. If you don’t have a laser and need to tune it, remove all cam lean and shoot through paper. Add a half twist to the yoke on the side where your nock side treat is. So a right nick year you add twist to both t he too and bottom yoke on the right side...

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  7 лет назад

      The micro sync dials are for when you don't have a bow press and need to make the adjustment. I guess you could even just use them if you have a bow press, but that is how I have always done it, and since I have a bow press that is how I did it. I guess next time the bow goes out of tune I can make a video on how to adjust draw stop timing with them. God bless ya.

  • @tonyallen9131
    @tonyallen9131 3 года назад

    if your bow has those micro sinc dial bowtech say to use the dial to put tension on the cable that is on the cam that's slow witch is the same as putting twists in the cable to get the cam to catch up so I don't understand why you would put twists in the cable that goes onto the cam that is hitting early/to fast

    • @seansoutdoors

      The adjustment knob has a limited range of adjustment. I would get it close using twist and then fine tune with the micro adjust.

      @tonyallen9131 3 года назад

      @@seansoutdoors the main thing that I'm finding confusing is that your saying that you add twists to the cam that is too fast were as the manual say to shorten the cable on the cam that's slow ether by adding twists or using the dial

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  3 года назад

      @@tonyallen9131 You can test it out yourself. Add twist to the cable that goes to the cam that is hitting first and see what it does (which is what I recommend doing to fix the cam timing) then put it back and add twist to the cable that goes to the cam that is slow and see which one is fixing the problem. I can basically guarantee that it is by adding twist to the cable that goes to the cam that is hitting first. God bless you.

    How many turns did u do on your yoke string. My arrows whip really hard to the left after release. Then I put 2 1/2 turns on my left cable. It's shooting better but I can still see it whiping. How much turn can I put on the string. It looks like my cams are leaning pretty far. Kinda risky to put more turns in. I changed from 400 spine to 340 spine and still shooting the same. What else can I check

    Is the nocking point on the bow tech reign 7 in the middle of the string?

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  4 года назад

      You typically set the nock point by first placing the arrow going through the burger hole. Sometimes the arrow rest will dictate where you have to place the d loop because of where the rest needs to be to have clearance when it drops away.

    I have a question. I have 2 bowtech bows a BOSS & Fanatic 3.0 XL. 1 of the things I'm seeing a lot of people do is GUESS at cam lean. Why is that ,I can understand if its not a bowtech. Now bowtech says they have the proper cam lean position for each bow. So if your setting top and bottom cam straight than how can the bow be in tune? Is the string truly center of the bow top and bottom. Watching the bowtech university videos their not guessing at any part of the tuning process. whats the deal?

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  7 лет назад

      I take out cam lean as the starting point, then shoot through paper. It will tear right or left which indicates which side needs the cam lean put in. I then add the same amount of twist to the same side of each cable that goes to the limb. I'm not sure what you are talking about guessing because there is no guessing in that. You set the cams at no lean to learn which way you need to lean them and then you lean them till the arrow pears perfectly in paper indicating that it is coming off of the bow true.
      Good luck with it and God bless you.

    • @t.n.t-man1095
      @t.n.t-man1095 7 лет назад

      i'm new to archery & i know everyone has their own style so when i got to this point in tuning i asked bowtech directly about this they told me every bow that leaves their factory is set to the proper cam lean. so the guessing part to me is why take the correct cam lean out just to put lean back in but not to the factory settings ? also instance on the boss bowtechs cam lean chart has the correct lean just off center of the of the inside limb. now for the fanatic correct cam lean is middle of the limb. now before checking my cam lean against the chart i tuned the bow myself twice (1st time by myself 2nd time with some help)and both times shot bullet holes. Than when i checked the top cam lean against the bottom cam lean and than against the chart i'm 2 full twist out at the top and 1 full twist out at the bottom. or are you just bypassing the rough set can lean? thanks again for your prompt response
      ruclips.net/video/VkLTN3jafcM/видео.html

    • @seansoutdoors
      @seansoutdoors  7 лет назад

      I bypas the rough set, because that is all it is, a rough set. You still fine tune after the rough set. As for my bow, when they sent it to me, it was not in time, and the draw length was at 28 whereas I am 31 inch draw. I like to start from scratch because things obviously needed to be changed. They may have had it tuned for 28 inch draw but 31 is quite a bit longer and that can have an impact on the way the arrows behave coming off of the bow, so I just like to start from scratch. To each his own. Enjoy your bowtech.

      What i have noticed with bows that have flexible cable slides the top cam has to have a bit of built in cam lean.
      If not( Top cam perfectly straight) at full draw when the cables come in toward the arrow the cam will have left came lean.
