  • The B.S. Chorus (BS doesn't stand for Boy Scout) is a tap community standard that has been passed down many generations. The creator of the dance is unknown, but this 32-bar standard was popularized by The Copasetics. While there are many variations on the steps, the format of the piece itself is consistent featuring Timesteps, a Crossover, Wings, Trenches and Over The Tops. thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. I've tap danced since I was 9 years old but had no clue about tap history until around age 25. Now I can pass this down to my students!

fast for my level but I loved it. I will repeat often. I finally got the shim sham. slow and sloppy but so much fun. more practice. I have to learn to tap fast with little background. And it feels very good on my body. Despite a difficult right hip. ;) thanks..

It's starting really great - with slow time explications... and then - so sad - the steps are getting quicker and quicker and quicker without any detail explication any more... for tap dancers with a good knowledge it's great, but for beginners or intermediates at the end it's to fast.... Maybe you could cut the tutorials and explain more????

Hi there! The BS Chorus is a piece of choreography best for intermediate and advanced level dancers, but for beginners, I recommend the Shim Sham. The remixes that I put at the end are bits of inspiration for advanced level dancers, not meant to be broken down and taught in this video. Glad you enjoyed the breakdown in the beginning!

Hi, you can always slow the speed down by going into the settings on the bottom right of the video. Maybe that will help you.
