I own two different optics from Arken and I could not figure out what the different series meant. I am about to buy another and this cleared things up tremendously! Arken should attach a link to this video on their website.
I have a SH4GEN 2 4X16X50 on my PA10 GEN 3 308 20" SS heavy barrel ..... I am testing out a Monstrum G3 4x16x50 on a ar15 5.56 1/7 got. profile 20" PA rifle ..... so far both are holding up here in mid eastern Tennessee .....
Thanks. Actually today I just purchased the Arken Optics EPL-4 4-16X44 FFP Illuminated MIL-VHR Retical, 30MM Tube. I own high-powered PCP FX airgun. He asked me what distance I would be shooting and I told him for the most part 50 to 300 yards occasionally 400 yards. I'm thinking about shooting competition do you think this scope is adequate for that purpose? I'm not a hunter. Mainly target shooting.
Great review man. You got a tell me your secret on how you were able to get so many? 3 weeks ago and still waiting on my EP5 to ship, lol Thanks again for the video.
I think the move to Japanese glass with the SH4J may be due to quality control issues with the Chinese glass, There have been some complaints of chromatic aberration (CA), both axial and transverse, with the Gen 2 SH4. Since the optical formula itself doesn't change between samples, the CA issues some are reporting probably comes down to inconsistent quality of glass, inconsistent assembly of the optical elements, or to inconsistent coating.
Just got my Arken scope, is the illumination knob on all there scopes pretty hard to turn? Just wondering if mine is defected or if they are all pretty stiff to turn.
Are there qd mounts that hold a zero well enough for longer range shooting? Say I use an EP 5 and want to use Zulus, are there qd mounts that I can use for each scope and just swap out but still be confident in holding zero for each scope?
@@RugerGundog Thanks much. Most accounts that I've read sounded like padded optimism. I guess the best move for repeatable accuracy would be to have two uppers. I'm a bolt guy just getting into the gas guns and looking at my options. I live and hunt in the mountain west so distance is often just the reality of the day. Repeatable accuracy being a necessity. Thanks for the informative videos! I've been using Leopold but just bought an Arken, I wish I had seen your videos first, except now I feel like I may need a second one.
Now "to me" it's splitting hairs on these. The eye box seems more dependent on high you soom it in. I feel they really are pretty darn close to the same. On that I don't have an issue with either once I using it for a bit.
@@RugerGundog Looking for the best scope for NRL22 Base class and this may be the best option and keep under the dollar cap. I’m using a CZ 457 Varmit @ $649.00 msrp.
I use a lot of apps that need access to much of that. It really doesn't bother me considering that. I told hackers and suck can basically access phones if on or off at Wil these days. But if is issue I think can click only assess while app in use
@@RugerGundogyes you can. But it states they can keep info even after deleting app ,so they must keep it anyway. Plus bank card numbers, your wages amount etc. Bit crazy but it's a Chinese app so that fits in with their social credit score system they have. Pity because I love to get the scope
My problem with Arken scopes is I don’t know what is real and what isn’t. There are so many shills putting forth reviews on Arken scopes it’s impossible to know. It is nearly impossible to find a pro Arken reviewer that isn’t compensated in some way.
Discovery optics is better than Arken. Im in Northern Saskatchewan Canada, ive had 4 Arkens that all fogged up inside. Not one of my Discovery optics have. -40F tested and Arkens fail. Discovery laughs and keeps going and says hold my beer!
Are you absolutely sure you are not getting condensation on outside lense; perhaps under a scope cap? Having one optic with a seal or purge failure could be plausible but four I have a hard time with. I've run them in the mountains of Wyoming and winters in Northern Michigan without an issue. Have not seen this issue surface elsewhere. Would love to see some content or a short video of the issue if you can.
I do see discovery is another budget friendly optic. I will reach out to them and see if I can obtain a few to put through some testing. Sorry about your odd misfortune with Arken. Hell I buried one in the mud in a frozen swamp for a week, froze it solid in a bucket and used as a boat anchor and it didn't fog. Seal finally broke after air impact rattle it for 10 mins
@RugerGundog was an SH4 and an EP5. I only bought one of each. Each had to be warranted with same issue. I've also seen several torture tests where the Arken has sealing issues. I really likes the scopes, just unfortunate I had those issues. I'm starting to wonder if it has something to do with the extreme cold I subjected them to. Hard to say. But I did move on. My Discovery ED PRS 5-25x56 Gen II has been amazing going into my 2nd year with it now.

If you do abuse testing and tracking the Arken will perform better.

I just order them once they first come out.
Great review…. I have two Arken scopes✅
Good choice!
Thanks much been waiting for this
It's pretty basic but I hope of some value.
I’ve almost bought an Arken scope several times. I’ll buy it one of these days 😂 great video
Snag one. You won't regret it. Lots of good stuff at a great price.

I mean sure it could be. In my examples I really can not tell any difference.

Yea..pretty stiff. It will loosen some.
Good info
Glad you think so!
Thanks for this video. I live in SE Michigan, have not found an outdoor rifle range greater than 150y. Do you have any recommendations?
I'm in Midland. We have 100, 200, 300, 600. at the range. Beyond 600 I use farm fields.
What is that tan cover on that EPL4? I wanna get one of those to match my flat earth color rifle
Scope Chap! Check em out!!

Meaning two scopes and two mounts. I'm just not familiar with the reliability of qd mounts.
They exist and I run into the same situation. The remount shots will be close but not precision target close with what I've found.

I buy my Optics. So you are conversing with one.
I'm a shooter and a hunter and not a pro youtube...hence the very amature quality of my content and part reason to keep it as such.

Dont buy any. they your money knowing they do not have inventory.
They do list what items are in stock and lead times for others.
