I just got handed down a 2010 3 with the 2.5 that my mother had from new (zero problems) . Runs like new and I have to say, I'm bloody impressed with the handling. My current car is a Fiesta ST. I love it, but with three kids, it's time to move on. The Mazda's handling isn't nearly as far off the Fiesta as I thought it would be. The 2.5 has great power. All I really miss is the 6 speed. Love those wheels btw!
That's awesome glad to hear you've been enjoying your new Mazda 3! Yeah a Fiesta ST must be a fun car to drive around, but if you need the extra room it makes sense!
14' Mazda 3 with 245k miles on it bought it with 20k miles. i'm gonna keep it till it as long as i can! After just a few modifications & blacking out the chrome it looks like a different car, I get tons of compliments on it wherever I go and people always trying to race me 😂
I bought a Mazda 3 (2023) 6 months ago. Long story short I was driving through an intersection and ran over a curb I didn’t see. It was quite a jolt and I thought I tore up the front of the car. Upon inspection the front right side of the plastic bumper popped out of the fender and looked pretty bad at first. I could also see where the right tire hit the top inside of the fender well and some plastic fasteners popped out. I was able to push the bumper down and snap it back in place. I bought some oversized plastic fender snaps from the local hardware store. The accident did seem to damage anything else (small scratch on wheel). Car did not go out of alignment! I now have the impression the car is built like a tank.
im hoping my 24' M3H makes it this far! i saw a video where a guy was reviewing his ownership of a 2016 Mazda6 2.5 skyactiv, and he also had to replace his HPFP, but at 300K miles/ 482kms.
The 24 still have the skyactiv engines so I you should be able to rack up some mileage like these haha That's good to know about the HPFP that others had some issues with it but it makes more sense at 300 miles to let go then 200km thanks for the feedback!
would you say this is a good representation how the 3rd gen mazda6 would be reliability wise too? Looking to get a 2.5 N/A with a manual transmission. Theres a local one for sale nearby me with just under 100k miles
Avoid the 2nd gen Mazda3s. If the oil ever gets low, the ring bearings will get damaged. If you're buying used (which obviously you have to now), you may be getting a time bomb. The 3rd gens are mostly bulletproof from everything I've heard as long as you do your basic maintenance. Most common issues I've heard about are rust (depending on where you live), problems with the infotainment screen, and Bose speakers being flimsy. Sport mode likes to stay in lower gears, so when you step on the gas you're already in the RPM range to get instant power. Makes the car feel a lot lighter. It does make your MPG worse since it's not the most efficient way to run the engine, but if you're hitting the fun button it's not to save gas! I don't know if it's doing anything else (advanced timing, sharper throttle response, etc). If you drive a lot on water (liquid or frozen), the traction control on the 3rd gens is pretty solid. Obviously tires matter the most but it's a good system.
That's great info! Thanks for sharing! I think it was the first gens that had the ring issues with the 2.3. From what I've experience the 2nd gen are pretty solid with the Skyactiv or MZR engines 2.0 or 2.5 Thanks again for sharing!
Thnx for putting the info out here. I am thinking of getting a used Mazda suv. Can you say if the cx9 is a better choice than the CX90? And why. I would really like get some info on the reliability on the engine and trans. Thnx again.
Glad you enjoyed the video. I personally would go with a Cx9 since the engine transmission have been pretty good. They did have issues with some of them, especially early models with cracked cylinder heads on the 2.5T but Mazda revised the head design in newer models, and replaced the heads if it was still under warranty. The cx90 seems to be having a bunch of problem from what I've heard Mazda techs say. Some have even reported replacing the transmission and lots of leaks on the engine. Hope this helps!

thank you, it did help a lot.. now I am not even thinking of the cx90 anymore.@@DrivingProduction
Hello, pls keep up the good works. I love to ask, can someone successfully swap or put a 2.0 skyactive engine into a first generation mazda 3 hatchback? Thank you.
Thanks! I haven't heard of anyone doing that swap as the skyactiv engines are very different from the MZR. Would definitely be a cool swap, if you had a second gen skyactiv as donor car you could probably swap over the majority of the parts over, but not sure if you would need anything else.
Cool video. Just bought a 2014 one in red. Where im from its called an SP25. Need to do the bose speakers just like you. They are rattling away. No doubt I will break some clips so I will wait until I can get some spares.
That's great! Hopefully you're enjoying the car! The speakers make a big difference when you glue them. I don't think I had to get new clips when I did this. 👍
Man, that's weird. I had a 2012 Mazda 3 Sky 6 speed manual, hit a deer with it just after Christmas and totaled it, RIP miss her, I just picked up a 2015 Mazda 3 I Touring 6 Speed manual. I want the Injen cold air intake but it says automatic trans only and I'd like to know why, and if it is possible to install on manual.
Sorry to hear about your accident, glad you were able to get another Mazda! I don't see why it would be auto only as I'm pretty sure they have the same intake system. That's great you swapped out the info system! I've been looking into doing that also!
I have a question for you as a Mazda owner myself. I have a first GEN Mazda three can you tell me if the second or third GEN Mazda threes have the same amount of cargo space in the back I wanna move over to a new version but I really don’t wanna give up cargo. Space. Thank you.
Yes cargo space is very similar for the first 3 gens, the fourth you loose quite a bit of space. For the 3rd gen you do loose a bit in height cause of the angle of the hatch.
Because of the snow here I change over to winter tires for almost half the year. I do like my Michelin tires I have, I X-Ice for winter and on my other Mazda 3 I have Pilot Sport 4S.
I felt the same haha that's why I have my other Mazda's lol but as far as auto's goes I learned to enjoy this transmission it almost feels like a manual
I got a 2015 for $800 cad. 270k kilometers. Runs good, drives good. Manual transmission. 800 bucks to learn to drive manual, ill take it.
That's an awesome deal you got!! I'm sure you can keep that car for a long time still if you wanted! 👍
What was the reason of the sale by the previous owner?
@@thaik56 not sure. Didn't ask
I love my 2016 MZ3 with 2.5 I just got mine with about 107k miles. I love it so much as a daily
That's great! They are awesome car! I'm sure you'll be able to put a lot of mileage on it!

Mazda3s are awesome. I have 313k miles, or just over 500k kilometers on my 2016
That’s amazing
Hi there from England i have a mazda 6 deisel 2.2 estate 163bhp 2009 on 207k owned it 9 years floorless motoring best car i have ever owned incredible
That's awesome! We didn't get the diesel here but they are great cars!
I own a ‘12 3 Sedan, ‘13 Speed3, & a 2018 3 Hatch and I love this one! Been a 5 year owner with basic maintenance and no issues!
That's awesome! You got a full fleet! They definitely are great cars!!
I miss my 08.5 true red Speed3 so much, but I just bought a 15 soul red M3gt and it’s filling that hole, I miss that turbo still.

That's great to hear about how solid they still make their cars! All our Mazda's (except my Speed) are over 200km and are running strong!

Nice video! Can you post a link about the grounding upgrades you did?
Thanks! I just added both video's I made on the topic a while back in the description. 👍
We dont get gen 3 with 2.5 engine in europe. Just the 2l. Can you do a carbon clean on the valves for us thanks.❤❤
That's too bad! But the 2.0 is still a great engine! Yes definitely working on a carbon clean video!
Think this is a good first car?

Bad luck.
