Hello everyone 🤗. I am having such a great time watching this awesome build! There isn’t a reason for me to know how everything works together but I have to, because it just fascinates me to watch how Chad does this so precisely one step at a time. It’s a feeling of being here with family on this channel as they share so many wonderful days ❣️. I hope you and your Darlin’ have a lovely week ahead 😘🇨🇦
Good morning Chad and Ms. Olive. I am enjoying watching you build the sawmill cover. I don't know how you do that all by yourself but doing a great job. I really enjoy watching you play with Ms. Olive. Oh how I luv her. She is soooooooooo sweet and cute. I just ordered the ceramic mug and zip hoodie with Ms. Molly's picture. Can't wait to get them. Molly's pic reminds me of Ms. Olive too. It has taken me awhile to order Ms. Molly's items but today was the day. Now I can see Ms Molly and Ms. Olive as I drink my coffee. Until the next video, you and Darlin have a fun week.

A week’s visit is still on my bucket list as soon as my sister-in-law finishes retiring. We can visit her sister in Ohio on our way up from Virginia-maybe win some more interested folk. Looking good Chad, nice progress. You can rent out some AB&B rooms, sell it as an outdoor experience! lol, that place is huge. I have shop envy. Really cool watching the shop progression.
Chad, when you mentioned that the last beam you set up would be stained in case the rain slanted in, a thought occurred to me - something I've seen elsewhere. I'm wondering if the way your exposed rafters slant down on the same side of the shed as the last beam encourages draining rain water to follow the beam and drain into the shed. Even if you are planning to block off between the rafters, the downward slant still encourages water to run down to the wall. I've seen a notch cut into the bottom of the rafters that would cause the water to drip/run off before it gets to the wall which would allow the lower extended roof to drain it away and maybe help keep the water from rotting out the rafters and the area right below them. Sorry, without pictures, I'm not even sure what I said makes any sense, but I'm hoping maybe you already know what I mean.
Did you ever think of putting 2 rails on the side of the saw bed, kind of like a loading rail. Just set the log on the rails, then roll it onto the saw bed. You wouldn't have to go so far into the building to get the log on the saw bed. Just a suggestion.
@@toddgiornesto6884 yes I’ve seen others do that. The main purpose of those log bunk things is so the equipment doesn’t accidentally drop a heavy log onto the mill and bend it. Thing is I’m planning to eventually add barn doors so I’m not sure how it would work.
@@lorineidtinytoadplot744 oh no. While I did record this episode 2 weeks ago, the leaves on all our trees are still changing and only starting to fall. We probably still have 2 weeks of leaves left and it’s a high of 24c today.
New to the channel. Love all your cat videos. Wondering if you're living on the farm now and if not, why not put a camper or mobile home or small home vs driving to the farm daily?
I have an electric Wagner sprayer but I find it sprays to much since the stain is very watery it’s just runs down the boards and I have to fix it with the roller anyway. Maybe I’m just not good at doing it 😉
How are you going to do the rafters on that extended part there? Are they going to be at an angle like the other side? And are they going to come off the roof of the other side? I’m trying to envision how this is going to work….
@@HiddenSpringFarm ok,, that’s what I was thinking… I just wanted to make sure I was thinking what I was thinking lol… if that makes sense 😂😂😂 my brain works a little weird… my husband says I operate on a different frequency than "normal" people… I told him that's because I'm from Jupiter… 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I have no knowledge of building but have been watching. You have put some big logs on your mill. How will you get logs in now without knocking down what you built? The space between poles don't look like too big of logs will be able to get in there? Just asking because I don't know this things but I am curious. Hope its not too stupid to ask.
I filmed the tractor putting the log on so you can see how it will be done. The space to load and unload is 24 feet which will allow be some wiggle room to do the logs. The mill does up to 16 foot logs.
