Another really interesting video! I just really enjoy your building videos! I enjoy all your videos. This sawmill shed is really taking shape, looks sturdy and well thought out. Please keep making them,
That Stain you were painting is the same color as my garden fence color called CA Rustic. It is also a woodish red color, It lasts a very long time in this hot CA sunshine, I painted all of my fences in 2016.
You are a genius. You're really good at thinking things through before doing it. I'm praying for you. Wish you would wear good gloves with that metal. Be safe. GOD BLESS YOU!!
@@milliealford8968 hardly, but thanks. I do wear gloves sometimes but all that metal roof it’s been sitting in the rain the gloves just get soaked after one piece 😉
Yes…..it will be solid as a rock 🪨, just like you, Chad! But I think Olive is getting tired of this project. It’s totally interfering with playtime now😂
Chad, to protect the wood buy some Copper Sulfate to coat your lumber. It can be brought at any Hardware store, Nice Job Chad. That is very sandy soil, easy to dig Chad. You are very lucky to have a large amount of prop. for your lumber and farm. How's the cats doing? Hey Chad who is running the camera, I noticed that someone is zooming in on you at times.
@@stanleykeith6969 haha I do all the filming, that’s just editing techniques. Cats are doing well. What’s copper sulphate for? I thought was just an antifungus. I thought copper sulphate is a bad chemical no?
@@HiddenSpringFarm I got this from Google Chad. ..........Yes, copper sulfate can be used to protect new lumber from decay, fungi, and insects: How it works: Copper sulfate is a blue, crystalline solid that dissolves in water and other solvents. It can be applied to wood using a variety of methods, including soaking the wood in a solution or inserting the solution into holes drilled into the wood. The hydrostatic pressure of the liquid forces the preservative into the sapwood, pushing out the sap. ( I have used it before along with Thomson Water Seal ) Many types of uses for this, you can ask Google for your self. Thanks for the Reply, Chad !
When your Episode 9 came up it up yesterday, it reminded me of 60 years ago when my dad built a pole barn by himself that is still standing strong today up in Ohio. (Well, he had 18 year old tomboy me and my 10 year old brother to help but none of the more advanced tools you have.). Boy, did I hate that post hole digger after a while-no powered augers! I made a comment about how your future visitors, and even a way in the future you at 80, would be amazed at the massive undertaking you did all by yourself! I was serious, not mocking or a satire. Hidden Spring Farm evokes memories for old timers like me. Thank you for that😊
May I suggest something you could try with Bubbles to get her outside a little bit while keeping her safe? You could install what is called a skyline trolley. It looks like a zip line, but it allows your cat to roam around safely. Sorry, I can't help but feel bad for her being cooped up every day. I know you don't want her to wander off, but it's still sad to me. Love your videos though, keep 'em coming! ❤
@@Akutheos the biggest problem I have with Bubbles is that she is so skittish. Every few months she shows me she can do it by coming over and letting me pet her first a few strokes, other than that she runs away every time. If I try to corner her she jumps and runs away and if I keep going after her she becomes even more scared of me. Just today I went into the cat cave and all the cats come to me for pets except her and Mango. But she was literally standing within petting distance the whole time, then after a minute she ran away. The only way I can get her I believe is to use a live trap while the other cats are out and I’m positive that will make things worse. I’m not really worried that she’ll wander off, I’m worried that I just won’t be able to get her back in. I’m sure she knows this is gone but her fear will take over and there’s a high likelihood that she’ll just hide at the end of the day.
Hello Chad, mate you’re a working machine. Mate with all the concrete mixing you do would it not be better to invest in a small portable concrete mixer, less strain on the body. Chad thanks for your inspiration. Greeting from down under Australia 😊
I appreciate that, but I don’t mind the physical work, it keeps me young 😂 You'd think I'd come to my senses and just buy one. That's the one piece of equipment to add to the list.

@@HiddenSpringFarm :) gotcha….ok, I'll leave you alone for the day… thanks for the replies! Have a a blessed day and give Olive a lot of pets and a Kong toss for me! Wouldn’t the jack pine continue to grow being left there? I mean if you fell it at the right height to put the beam on top, it will still continue to grow taller…. And when it does, it will lift the beam and the rest of the structure… would it not be structurally sound doing that… I would remove it…. @@ZippedUpKitz yeah they’ll get larger in diameter but what I did to the tree will kill it anyway. Plus if I do observe an issue later on down the road I can always replace it.
