Escanor never boasted. Even when he said he stood above all the races, he immediately bodied angels and demons with ease.

I don't think he fully explained how disrespectful Escanor is to Estarossa. Anyone who fights Estarossa with hatred in their heart, even the tiniest little bit, will be unable to harm anyone else. Escanor straight up walked up to him. With absolute zero hatred, and told the guy straight to his face, that he only felt bad for them to face such a triumphant opponent. He won that fight just walking up to Estarossa.
