Honestly, i'm blown away by how many awesome improvements this video shows off, I cannot wait to get my hands on this game. Going to be hundreds of hours of fun here! :D Great job CA!
Gotta say I love the slave economy. For the first time since Medieval 2 have we gotten actual numbers to represent a "population" (of slaves in this case). I always preferred being able to see that my settlement had 6900 people in it rather than seeing my settlement is level 4. It gives more of an immersive feel to the empire management side of Total War games. I'd have loved there to be a population mechanic in TWW where you could check a tab similar to the slave tab in this video which showed the population in your cities and what races there are living there. Having alliances, military access and shared borders could increase the population of different races in your region. Once it hits a certain level you could build a unique building. Like in an empire city, if the dwarf population grows to a high level you could create a "Dwarven Quarter" which could give bonus' to armour and weapon strength to units recruited there implying the dwarfs are forging weapons and armour.
Jesusssss this is looking like the MOST polished and complex total war yet! I loooooooove the details of the map, units, UI, game mechanics, everything! CA really really reaaaaally ought to be praised by this new high standard. Looking forward to seeing TW2 get all the prestigious prices of the year.
It seems like a lot of features that could translate to future total war games are being tested to good effect here in this series where they can really play around with off the wall concepts. As much as _some_ history buff fans have been whinging about these fantasy titles, I think in the end Total War: Warhammer may ultimately be the best thing to happen to those historical titles. It's laying a lot of the groundwork for future success...not to mention how it's been a rather profitable boon for the company, helping fund larger scale projects going forward. So, I say even if you're not a huge fan of fantasy, I'd at least be supportive of the development of these games...
I really like the quality of life improvements they've implemented to the smaller features. Even just having more info about each hero available on their unit card makes such a big difference over time. If 3 is like 2, the series will be much better when it ends compared to when it started.
Love the extra role-playing element of naming Dark Elf lords. A cool implementation of the lore, and should make you a bit more attached to you generals.
love those mechanics the dark elves seems to have. They greatly improve on each race compare to when the first game came out. Very well done CA. I'm really excited to play this game.
What's with all of these stupid selfish and narrow minded comments? All whining and begging. How come there is no comments like: "Wow the Dark Elves look awesome! Lot's of cool new features and uniqueness. All of the new things with tech trees, rites, and random events look awesome!" or "Wow the UI changes and updates look great! Everything seems real streamlines and easy to comprehend. Map looks great too!" Can we get more of those comments please? Because everything does look awesome. Can't wait for all of the new adventures to be had in the New World.
Thank you!, great taste of the dark elves power and might... they are so regal and proud, the soundtrack for them is amazingly enthralling and engaging. I did wanted to see an actual battle against any factions..sad face but overall excellent stuff
Incredible amount of depth and information from the game now! Hopefully we will have much information about units as well so we don't need to rely on fan-made websites for hidden unit stats.
I am actually really happy with the way rituals work. One thing I hate not just in TW:WH but in ALL total war games is how your most awesome fortified places never get attacked.
So I was a bit scared that this game would be nothing more than a reskin of the first one, just with a different campaign victory condition. It seems that is not the case, they changed enough stuff (even changing some of the layout, color schemes, etc.) to make it yet again intresting. All Total War games are quite alike in a sense but it is the minor detail changes that make them playable again and again. With Warhammer there was a lot of change (and a lot of change I liked since I'm a big Warhammer fan) hence my fear off getting more of the same because they already changed so much. This video already proves that I was wrong to fear. Thanks CA, keep up the good work! Looking forward to play!
Man, A Mod where you play as a Rougue Army would probably be awesome. You choose which faction you want to do rituals as, but you get randomized units of each tier
Humans are the best, and the empire has the best of them. The elves are just failed humans, but they will be given land. And we will surround this land with fences in order to protect them. Also because we humans aren't cruel we'll give them free showers to help loosen them up. Followed with a trip to a relaxing mud pit or maybe a sauna, both of which they'll never want to leave. Praise be onto Karl Franz and may you elves accept this generous offer.
Plz CA. If Tomb Kings are added, please give it flavor by being the only race that has 2 different objectives. Arkhan and his minions would of course use the Vortex to resurrect Nagash. While Settra and the other Tomb Kings would use it to gain True Immortality, as was promised long ago.
Awesome. You guys have really improved upon the game, more than anyone's expectations despite saying it will have the same general mechanics, engine, and graphics. Congratulations. I have full trust in you to make this launch smoothly and become the new most popular TW game
Loving this slave management mechanic, just because I don't feel like we've seen this much detail in economy and civic planning before in Warhammer. I hope the Greenskins get something similar for bossing around the boyz. Norscans seem like they'd have a slave resource as well, even if to a lesser extent, since they prefer fighting to empire building.
For the love of god CA either have an option to have all spells & abilities shown on the main battle screen together so we don't have to keep clicking on each unit with spells or abilities (all of which have different cooldowns) trying to predict when they will be active again, while we are either missing a part of the battle as we do so or having to pause and play the whole time, breaking up the pace and fun of the action. Or better yet give us an autocast option so we don't have to get bogged down in unnecessary micro, if the AI can cast in AI armies then the AI should be able to cast in our own armies, these changes are surely minor in implementation in comparison to how much they would improve the game.
Its really great to see some return to some complexity with the campaign. Even though corruption was essentially the same as sanitation from previous TW games, all the rest seemed really gutted. Now all we need is a return to hand crafted siege maps that your studio has proven to be fully capable of
I love how calm and cool your voice is. Would be awesome if there was an outtake of you going "well ****" when something surprises you making one of these videos lol
Yeah...you don't have to read much about Warhammer learn that it is definitely not as child friendly as it appears. It just maintains a light outward appearance so that a wider audience will buy the minis.
i'm frothing at the mouth to play this. Skaven>Dark Elves>Lizard Men> HighElves in that order of hype. Excellent work CA. I request off work for these launches. :3 Warhammer 1 was me staying up late playing a VC campaign. Sooooooo good.
I hope other major factions get mechanics like the Black Ark. The Dark Elves aren't the only race with immense naval power, or huge elaborate constructions. It would also give something unique to naval mechanics.
Well sir, I would argue the personality matters more as his playthroughs consist of more than just sheer gameplay. With an attitude like yours, I couldn't bear watching you play for half an hour, no matter how much better you play.
Looks like the devs are listning to player-feedback with the changes we are seeing between TWW1 and TWW2. Love it! This is without a doubt one of the VERY VERY few games i am comfortable pre-ordering!
Rites make Grombrindal' bonus a standard for all races. This is good, I would like to see more gameplay features available across the board when it makes sense. High Elves influence and diplomacy for example
This looks cool, love the complexity of handling slaves please don't shy away from this stuff. I'd love to see an expansion focused on CITIES AND SEIGES literally call it that and release dope seiges combined with more building choices and the abilities to view our cities in 3D like old Total War titles !!!
This is really cool. I like a lot of the changes they've made. That roaming naval carrier is very interesting. I'd like to learn more about it. Love the new trait system; they're definitely going in the right direction with that. Love the whole slavery bit and how you can move them to different cities to keep slavery/public order balanced - more domestic administration is always good in my book. I really like how your main holdings can be threatened if you choose to do rituals. But the best part of all is how big this map is. I really hope they''ll consider adding naval battles/units/armadas in a patch for the game. But regardless, looks great!
i agree with everything you said, but i'll have to disapoint you in regards of the naval battles, they won't come because of legal rights to the naval franchise, they belong to man' o war the game unfortunatly, i would love that GW would give their licencing to CA, this map would be even more awesome, i mean so much water, and monsters, and i mean the treasures could be guarded by monsters or fleets, so much you could do with it, but still CA is doing an exelent job with what they have :)
I also wonder: will the old factions be getting some of the new features like rites? Or will rites be totally absent from the combined map? But I suppose they'll have to be in, or else the Dark Elves won't be able to recruit Black Arks. So maybe each Old World faction will be getting their own rites? :D
Did you not see the video where the show the Vampire Coast, New World Human settlements them fighting a rogue Orc army? Or the fact that they just said near the end that Chaos armies are spawning all over the world?
Vamp coast and human colonies are different factions and start off on the map. "All over the world" obviously an exageration. The chaos armies are meant to interrupt your ritual not attack everybody.
WOW,TTW 2 have better mechanics than the first one,dat slaves mechanic, complex system ,new treasure things, can conquer evrything, better auto resolve, bigger map. TT:W 1 is good but the sec one is BETTER,but still need to look forward until this game released,so far so good, nice CA,i hope the other team that making historical one is better, cause majority of TT players love historical settings,so dont dissapoint them, thank you CA you still making the best strategy game ever
Honestly, i'm blown away by how many awesome improvements this video shows off, I cannot wait to get my hands on this game. Going to be hundreds of hours of fun here! :D Great job CA!
Malekith voice is already way better on this video than on the destroyer Quest battle.
TheKindredblades Sounds like they made it a bit deeper right?
That's my impression as well.
TheKindredblades its the same voice actor only difference is that hes shouting in battles.
It's been the same voice the whole time, in that quest battle he's yelling which is why it sounded different.
I think it comes from yelling vs normal speech.
Gotta say I love the slave economy. For the first time since Medieval 2 have we gotten actual numbers to represent a "population" (of slaves in this case). I always preferred being able to see that my settlement had 6900 people in it rather than seeing my settlement is level 4. A slave for his own personal use. Well, I guess when his mother isn't avaliable he has to settle for the next best thing.
It seems like a lot of features that could translate to future total war games are being tested to good effect here in this series where they can really play around with off the wall concepts. Looks absolutely stunning! The map is sooo huuuge. The amount of work puted into creating this is .... TREMENDOUS?
Love the extra role-playing element of naming Dark Elf lords. A cool implementation of the lore, and should make you a bit more attached to you generals.
love those mechanics the dark elves seems to have. They greatly improve on each race compare to when the first game came out. Very well done CA. I'm really excited to play this game.
1:42 That lovely slave mechanic on the left of the screen
The old dude is still alive! I thought Tzeentch pecked his face off...
Andreas only the great deceiver truly knows
chaos clones, what else?
This game technically takes place at the same time as the first game. Also that was a Lord of Change, but not actually Tzeencth himself.
WarlordOfRome Which is technically still Tzeench as all demons are fragments of their respective god.
Tzeentch has fingers in all the metaphorical timeline pies.
This one time he wanted the Greenskins to win, was weird.
What's with all of these stupid selfish and narrow minded comments? All whining and begging.

Can we get more of those comments please? Because everything does look awesome. Can't wait for all of the new adventures to be had in the New World.
I'm loving this game already.
Those options for the campaign map and being able to chose what to see are amazing. Thank you, CA!
2:30 I-I couldn't, I-I... ELF SLAVE! WAT DO!?
Maybe Malekith really just wants a friend.
And in AoS he fuses with his female Dragon poor Guy
Karl Zuhlke
We do not speak of such heresies here! :P
Perhaps this one screams particularly loud and pleasantly
Hey thats the only cool Part of this heresy
Thank you!, great taste of the dark elves power and might... they are so regal and proud, the soundtrack for them is amazingly enthralling and engaging. I did wanted to see an actual battle against any factions..sad face but overall excellent stuff
I was a little disappointed how far down chat I had to go to find a "sunken booty" comment. Come on chat! Get with it!
Love the new feature between turns where you can focus on exactly what you want. So cool, glad it's finally happened!
Incredible amount of depth and information from the game now! Hopefully we will have much information about units as well so we don't need to rely on fan-made websites for hidden unit stats.
I am actually really happy with the way rituals work.

The music is brilliantly malevolent. Love it
Malekith in the diplomatic menu sounds much better :D I guess that must be his indoor voice when not making magnificent speeches.
4:11 "Kalgughun"? Blimey, I know Dark Elves aren't the nicest parents, but that's taking it to the next level!
Blood and souls for the bloody handed God!
Blood and souls for khaine!!!
Wow, gj guys, much deeper hero progression and the new end of turn camera options rock.
Damn, this looks so much better than the first TWWH game, can't wait!!
i love how the Dark Elves are looking :)
I have so missed naval bombardments, Fall of the Samurai was well underrated!
I have to say everything that's been shown so far is awesome, can't wait to see that bombardment support in action!
the dark elf music in the game is perfect , really awesome , I hope the high elves soundtrack in game is just as amazing
Man, A Mod where you play as a Rougue Army would probably be awesome. You choose which faction you want to do rituals as, but you get randomized units of each tier

Really great job from you guys.
And a big nice F you for the cliffhanger :D
Plz CA. If Tomb Kings are added, please give it flavor by being the only race that has 2 different objectives.
Arkhan and his minions would of course use the Vortex to resurrect Nagash.
While Settra and the other Tomb Kings would use it to gain True Immortality, as was promised long ago.
Unnamed Shadow and no chance of confederarion between them.
Just make Nagash playable and make him rebuild his Black Pyramid to harvest the Vortex
The black pyramid is actually buildable in the game so when they do release the TK its there waiting
It's buildable ??
www.totalwar.com/blog/total-war-warhammer-ii-achievements/ There was an achievement f or building it
Autoresolve shows how many kills each unit gets now!! thanks CA, little things like that really do make a difference
Hail to the True Phoenix King!
Awesome. You guys have really improved upon the game, more than anyone's expectations despite saying it will have the same general mechanics, engine, and graphics.
Congratulations. I have full trust in you to make this launch smoothly and become the new most popular TW game
That map looks amazing
The improvements to the UI is.. beyond this world
Excellent job!
Hey Total War! I'm loving what I'm seeing so far!! Awesome job! Can't wait for the combined map!
Total war warhammer was realllly good i have nearly 600hrs with it
AND THIS IS SO MUCH BETTER HYPEHYPEHYPE
Loving this slave management mechanic, just because I don't feel like we've seen this much detail in economy and civic planning before in Warhammer. Ah, as I suspected, Black Arks are acquired through rites!
I love how calm and cool your voice is. Would be awesome if there was an outtake of you going "well ****" when something surprises you making one of these videos lol
Did anyone else notice the hero in the settlements garrison at 8:26? Looks like they've taken a few good ideas from mods, which is fine by me.
Nice catch. I didn't notice that.
Those Dark Elf unit card models are incredible compared to the previous title. Nice upgrade!
All looks good. And malakiths voice sounds better than I feared.
wow, the UI improvements and trait tracking looks amazing
Shout out to the palm trees by the glaciers 8:58
I love the look of Warhammer 2 I hope they update the old world at some point to look as great as this.
This game looks so much more complete than the first game ( not saying the first is or was bad!) Its a straight step up. Bravo CA.
Malekith's voice indeed is different in campaign. Sounds cooler here.
Dark Elves look so awesome, i cannot wait to play them!
This is getting better and better,.. can't believe it
Darren is why these games succeed.
High elf slave for his own personal use... I THOUGHT THIS GAME WAS FOR KIDS
Daniel Carlotta-Jones It's fine, they play hop-scotch and chequers together
Yeah...you don't have to read much about Warhammer learn that it is definitely not as child friendly as it appears. It just maintains a light outward appearance so that a wider audience will buy the minis.
Malekith has two Dragons his Mom and Seraphon he doesn´t need more then this
me too, I was gonna buy this for my 6 year old niece now i'm not so sure.
Daniel Carlotta-Jones Warhammer and kids do not go together heretic
Wonderful gameplay by the Darkelves!! Thank you!
I love all the additions. Can't wait to try it and see how it works in the old world in the grand campaign
I just love Total War series. I hope they continue to create new awesome games until the day I die. :D
Looks way more interesting than first Warhammer, cant wait for combinde map and updates on old races :)
The dark elves gameplay is the best !
I just wanted to say, your team knows how to make an AMAZING game!!!
i'm frothing at the mouth to play this. Skaven>Dark Elves>Lizard Men> HighElves in that order of hype. Excellent work CA. I request off work for these launches. :3 Warhammer 1 was me staying up late playing a VC campaign. Sooooooo good.
Intervention forces are an amazing feature
Yay finally Darren is back 👌🏽
For his own personal use. ; )
Game looks absolutely amazing, well done
I hope other major factions get mechanics like the Black Ark. The Dark Elves aren't the only race with immense naval power, or huge elaborate constructions. It would also give something unique to naval mechanics.
such a big map... 100 episode campaign lionheart incoming!! #iykwim
Jimmy inside joke... lol
Away at Uni when this game comes out. Rip ;(
lionheart sucks, You could play better than him.
200 episodes
Well sir, I would argue the personality matters more as his playthroughs consist of more than just sheer gameplay. With an attitude like yours, I couldn't bear watching you play for half an hour, no matter how much better you play.
treasures and such i really like the direction the game is going, looks a lot like heroes of might and magic and i love it
Looking pretty sweet. Love that ritual stuff, gives some interesting goals.
Ending a Let's Play episode with a Cliffhanger! Witch King cunning!!!
Love the slave management. Once my fellow warriors of Hashut come to the game, this will be fun.
Just imagine two maps joined together. This is the most epic RTS in terms of scope since Napoleon.
SQW0 well both maps will be squeezed down in the combined campaign it'll still be big but it won't be both maps full sizes.
So hyped !! Love the campaign gameplay there is so much more things to do than in TW1 ;)
This game is gonna be amazing! In love with all the new features they giving!!
3:00 Bombardment Support? Like in Shogun 2: Fall of the Samurai maybe? That sounds brilliant!
Indeed! Skeptical as to how much damage it would do, though
This is awesome both in scale and in content. Can't wait!
OST for a new campaign sounds great tho
This looks cool, love the complexity of handling slaves please don't shy away from this stuff. I'd love to see an expansion focused on CITIES AND SEIGES literally call it that and release dope seiges combined with more building choices and the abilities to view our cities in 3D like old Total War titles !!!
With all these additions in this sequel, I cannot fathom what awaits in the 3rd. But it will be epic
Gosh dang it Daren, leaving us on a cliff hanger!
The transition from tactical overview map to graphical map made me cream. Looks so much more upgraded than warhammer 1's map.
hoping for a lizardmen campaign soon
I am worried that the game 1 factions are gonna get stomped by al these new features the new races get.
Actually you two are wrong. They will be re-doing the old factions for the combined map.
I also wonder: will the old factions be getting some of the new features like rites? Or will rites be totally absent from the combined map?
But I suppose they'll have to be in, or else the Dark Elves won't be able to recruit Black Arks. So maybe each Old World faction will be getting their own rites? :D
As Phat said, CA announced that in the combined map the Old World factions will gain access to these sexy new mechanics.
Oh, more information on hero's page, thanks CA!
That map is so freaking HUGE.
W2 look amazing! Slavery - some more economic management, yes yes!
It's looking magnificent...
Wow I just realized this game is ebcoming more and more like the evolution of Heroes of might and magic!!
I think this looks like best total war game yet
you guys should name this Total war Warhammer 2: The Tom and Jerry Experience
WOW,TTW 2 have better mechanics than the first one,dat slaves mechanic, complex system ,new treasure things, can conquer evrything, better auto resolve, bigger map. TT:W 1 is good but the sec one is BETTER,but still need to look forward until this game released,so far so good, nice CA,i hope the other team that making historical one is better, cause majority of TT players love historical settings,so dont dissapoint them, thank you CA you still making the best strategy game ever
This is fantastic, for the first time, there will be dark elves as playable race. I will play it on very hard until full campaign victory.
