Indre og ytre Ofredal og Seimsdal - Ne`fø`sjøen - 29 juli 2022

For å komme til dette fantastiske avsidesliggende stedet så må man kjøre en ganske så spektakulær vei oppover og nedover i bratt terreng. Og ikke minst Ofredalstunnelen som kanskje er verdens bratteste veitunnel. Den har iallefall en stigningsprosent på 16.
Indre Ofredal fortel ei sterk og tydleg historie som gjer dalen til noko meir enn ein av dalane langs Sognefjorden. Ikkje minst vasskraftanlegga er viktige, og syner historia om Noreg som vasskraftproduserande nasjon. Ofredal Indre ligg nedst i det bratte dalføret Indre Ofredal, som òg er kjend for den gode furuskogen sin. Husa ligg attmed Kleivefossen, og har Sognefjorden (Årdalsfjorden) som næraste nabo. Gardsanlegget blir difor kalla "Ne fø sjøen".

Indre Ofredal var frå midten av 1800-talet, og fram til andre verdskrig, eit viktig senter for handel og næringsverksemd i heile Indre Sogn. Det var eit økonomisk og politisk tyngdepunkt i Årdal, og dei 2 fyrste ordførarane var herifrå. Her var sjøbu, sagbruk og mølle frå 1900, ved sida av dei andre gardsbygningane. I dette "industriområdet" var det liv og røre, med produksjon, lossing og lasting av råvarer og ferdigprodukt. Furuskogen i Ofredal har svært god kvalitet, og saman med vanleg jordbruk og fruktdyrking har dette vore levevegen for folk i Indre og Ytre Ofredal.
Årdal kommune har bygt bilveg frå Seimsdal, og rusta i si tid opp kulturvernanlegget. I dag vert anlegget drive som ei stifting.
På Seimsåsen har Årdalstangen Idrettslag no bygt ut sitt skisenter med skihytte og skiløyper. Anlegget står fram som eit viktig lokalt aktivitetssenter.
Du kjem til Indre Ofredal med bil via Årdalstangen, til Seimsdal, og gjennom Ofredalstunnelen. Du kan òg komme via sjøvegen.
To get to this wonderful, remote place, you have to drive a rather spectacular road up and down steep terrain. And not least the Ofredal tunnel, which is perhaps the world's steepest road tunnel. In any case, it has an increase percentage of 16.
Indre Ofredal tells a strong and clear story that makes the valley something more than one of the valleys along the Sognefjord. Not least the hydropower plants are important, and shape the history of Norway as a hydropower-producing nation. Ofredal Indre lies at the bottom of the steep valley Indre Ofredal, which is also known for its good pine forest. The house is located next to Kleivefossen, and has the Sognefjord (Årdalsfjord) as its nearest neighbour. The garden facility is therefore called "Ne fø sjøen".
Indre Ofredal was from the middle of the 19th century, and until the Second World War, an important center for trade and business in the whole of Indre Parish. It was an economic and political center of gravity in Årdal, and the 2 first mayors were from here. Here was a barn, sawmill and mill from 1900, next to the other farm buildings. In this "industrial area" there was life and bustle, with production, unloading and loading of raw materials and finished products. The pine forest in Ofredal is of very good quality, and together with normal agriculture and fruit growing, this has been the livelihood for people in Inner and Outer Ofredal.
Årdal municipality has built a road from Seimsdal, and in due time upgraded the cultural conservation facility. Today, the facility is run as a foundation.
On Seimsåsen, Årdalstangen Idrettslag has now expanded its ski center with a ski hut and ski slopes. The facility stands out as an important local activity centre.
You get to Indre Ofredal by car via the Årdalstangen, to Seimsdal, and through the Ofredal tunnel. You can also come by sea.

The glass surface of the fjord - beautiful! I looked this place up on google maps. Wow - that is quite an access road. And bringing the drone around the corner of the mountain at 4:15 and on was absolutely mesmerizing!
