FDNY is the best in the world. Growing up in Brooklyn they were always the first on the scene, within 5 minutes! They never failed us, and we had high respect for these guys back in the day and still do.
Just graduated the State Fire Academy in my state. My father a 10 + year vet at a good size fire dept in South Carolina. It was instilled in me as a little kid that this was what I was gonna do when I got older. Best job in the world. Always looked up to the FDNY. Best of the best

I’ve been a firefighter for going on 20 years, I signed up because of 9/11. This is an awesome contribute to the brothers. Also stop and think about this, most of those guys pictured on Rescue 2 were killed on 9/11. It’s good to see them memorialized here.

10 years was not enough. Sometimes the damage the job does on your mind and body comes sooner than later. I was not ready to leave but my body gave me no choice. I miss it terribly, best damn decision I ever made. 10 years as a vollie and made a difference, the job was just not done. Yeah I know I will probably get my chops busted on by the career guys. We always have had this love/hate relationship. Funny, we vollie Depts that surround the FDNY build our tactics and SOP's around how they operate. Best damn role models around!!!
1:05 Jeez !! I know 3 Truck moves..trust me being detailed there plenty of times..but that chauffeur was cruising around that corner. Luckily the guy crossing didn’t really flinch much. Woman and kid in a stroller would have been a different story. Either a young chauffeur or an old timer who knew what was around the bend. I’m hoping it was an old timer but not many left. Be safe boys.
@@ikebub344 the only time I would assume is when they were reconstructing 5 Engine quarters. When I was there 14 Engine was with us for a while the city worked on their firehouse. Two 3-4 k run a year companies piggy backing in quarters was never a dull moment.
