I put a ton of effort in to this video. Show me your appreciate it with the like button.... or if you didn't like it, just punch my face. That works too.
Stunning B-roll and a well structured, unbiased review within a reasonable amount of time to keep viewers engaged. Thank you Jay for all the hard work you do for our viewing pleasure, please never stop.
smoke was a nice touch, but i would recommend maybe coming up from the bottom, rolling across the table, instead of just floating past like clouds. don't know why, it just makes sense to me as something that would look even better.
makes sense. I think a smoke machine from the movies makes smoke that is more dense and that is why it seems to roll across surfaces. anyways, enjoying the new touches (backlights) that are increasing the production value. Cheers, and keep it up man!
Smoke that rolls on surfaces and doesn't float as high is often cooled, so it stays down. Sure smoke machines make thicker smoke, but unless it's not cooled it would make clouds like Jays "smoke" did ;)
It's crazy that I first started watching your stuff when you had just over 70,000 subscribers. I enjoy your content and it's obvious by the 900,000+ subscribers that other people do as well. Keep up the good stuff, man.
Good job! The B-Roll really was up a notch! And those ambient rgb lights are really spicing your videos. Keep up your motivation and good spirit, I would like to keep watching your videos for a long time!
I just gotta say man, i love the fact that you managed to keep the old school flavor to the channel man, kudos for that man, some others just sort of took it way to professional, way too serious and that's why, for three years in a row, Jay remains my N01 tech enthusiast youtuber. So i hope that even if you do take things to the next level (witch i'm sure is already on the carts), plz do leave the sort of first person view to the build processes and reviews and all. Great vid, wonder if we're gonna get G45 version of the Z270 chipset.
mmmph dat b-roll Jay. I wish you had a playlist of just b-roll that i could listen to and view out of the corner of my eye all day at work. It's so relaxing
I agree. Motherboards are super important. I cheaped out on my motherboard and I can't even overclock my Fx 6300 with my Be quiet Pure Rock because the VRM's overheat. Great video Jay!
OR or... one can just use PWM parts i mean... i always prefer pwm fans/pumps/wtvr but ofc to each his own. still i'd prefer if MSI would let me control that led's color. and a color wheels. why msi, why? wtf is wrong with you guys?!
I love how it's basically just black/grey, especially now that everything has RGB lighting. Makes it so much easier to mix and match different components from different manufacturers, if you're trying to make your pc look decent.
I love that you did this video. I recently just bought the Z270 XPower Titanium mobo and put my 6700k in it and wow! I put it on "4" with the game boost and it over clocked my cpu to 4.59ghz @1.32v, yet even under massive load, my cpu only uses 1.12ish (not 100% sure on that exact # going off memory right now). My cpu stays at that frequency 100% of the time. Even when I turn game boost off. I have XMP enabled and it pushes my ram past the 2400 mhz it's rated for to 2449 mhz. I thought that was also interesting. I am in love with the MSI Z270 line up and I have yet to check out all the features. These boards do soooooo much!
I like what you're doing with your lighting. because of you I have a hardline waterloop installed in my system. I really value your channel and I hope it stays around for a long time. thank you jay!
Hey Jay, I just wanted to say that I really do enjoy your content. You continuesly bring interesting and thorough reviews, and I referred a lot to your TwoCents while finding my parts and building my own computer a few years back. However I do always find an urge to keep upgrading while seeing these kind of videos! Keep it up, those 1 mill subs is just around the corner!
Adjusting the OC in your O is huge, as sometimes booting causes problems for various OCs, that allows an O applied OC to actually be more stable. VERY COOL!
Great video, I'm just building a system with the same M7 motherboard and gtx 1080x so it is really nice to see someone putting these componenets to use too. I have never built a specialised gaming rig before so it has been a bit of a challenge and You Tube has been a great help. So thanks to you, also all of the others, I have watched for tips. I have never been bold enougn to try overclocking but I am going to have a go with this system and must admit that I am really glad to have automatic settings to start me off! Hopefully I can get to the point of being confident enough to tinker myself.
One of your most informative vids Jay. With the multitude of Z270 boards released recently it's nice to see some opinions to give us some clarity. Those Green LEDS have to go!
The dial which goes to 11 is a reference to Spinal Tap, funny movie way back. Great review and agree with all on the FPS and Quality Res you are pumpin to the masses. Keep up the great work Jay!
Yes please, more motherboard videos. I'm thinking of building a new system this year and taking my time doing it, so what I would really like is comparison videos.
Thank you so much for this review. I recently bought an msi 1080ti lightning x and a TT View 71 RGB temp. glass case with a TT T.P. Grand RGB 850W Plat PSU to support the GPU, but I'm running an i3-3240 & Asus z77a mobo and gskill 1600ddr3. I knew I was going to bottleneck but the gpu/psu were easy and I needed more time to research which mobo/cpu to get. It was a tough choice but I'm settling on this one. Again, thank you for all the videos you put out as they are helpful to so many of us with a 3-5+ year component cycle.
Jay, Great video. I've owned both MSI boards and ASUS boards. I have to say that MSI some really nice things over ASUS, such as the command center. I've used it. It's brilliant. And the UEFI on MSI is WAAAAY better.
For the USB 3.0 position. If they both AsMedia, then they can put them at the same place. If one of the is on the chip set, then it will always on top of SATA port. The fan header is great to add something to show what type of header or mode its in. When I work as support, SOOO many people ask me why their fan(PWM) or pump is uncontrollable. But I agree, if there is a LED, make it RGB...
Ok I don’t usually comment on vids often but this was in need of a comment for sure. I was not really interested in this motherboard but I check out all my subscribed tech vids anyway cause there is usually some snips of things I wanted to be updated on baked in (also sometimes I learn something I didn’t expect). Usually I like long videos even up to an hour or more but when I saw 13 minutes on a motherboard vid I thought there was no way I would get through that. Expecting it to be long clips of waiting for things to turn on and a little information I wouldn’t need. I was dead wrong, watching the whole vid through I needed to let everyone know that the amount of game uppage that happened here was incredible. Scene switching was great and held interest, top notch B roll, constant stream of information and then hands on usability, the B roll had nice smooth music, (It is still good to know loading times but I’m glad it’s cut out when not related to vid). My favorite B roll was at 5:14 looking into the case. Much further in than I even thought I would watch. You can tell the effort value here and it is enjoyable to watch even if you don’t need to know about this specific board. On a side note I saw Jay in an earlier vid talking about the RGB lighting he had everywhere and I thought it would get no practical use, was wrong on that to. xD I can not state enough the satisfying music I understand music is subjective to the listener but I think this kind will be more widely enjoyable. I just watched that B roll like 3 times.
B roll was great. The effort is appreciated. Just a little spot of black plasti-dip using a small brush on those green led's and your problem is solved. It will come off easily if you ever need to remove it, and its non conductive.
Hey Jay, just wanted to finally post and say that I really appreciate your videos. Coming from other tech channels to yours is always a bit jarring just because everything from the high frame-rates to the crisp audio quality is a huge shift in production quality. The content is always fantastic too, but the video craftsmanship is what really stands out to me.

I have a 7700K and an ASUS Z270A with the Cosair H115i, it's OC'd at 4.8GHz and it has 3 years warrenty. Also the Asus Z270 A looks AMAZING, pictures do not do this board justice, fits perfectly in my black and white build.
Jay as always another good informative video ! Thanks man , I finally finished my first water cooling loop because of you and what I've learned off of your channel. It's no skunk works but it is mine
A few things.... 1 - What is up with the smoke??? :P 2 - Couldn agree more... WHY GREEN LEDs???? That pops up more then anything else! 3 - When you say "If the overclock doesn't work, it goes back automaticly" you mean, if the system freezes or something happens, when you reboot it will come back to the last safe boot options or what?? 4 - Great video! I would like to see more of these! :D
Right angled connectors is the way to go in my opinion, having a stiff bulky cable like the USB3.0 header one going up then having to bend it to route it behind the motherboard is PITA. 24 pin should be standarized to be sideways as well, although that would mean you cant quite show off your custom cables as well.
I'd love to see some of the new Asus boards that are out there. Especially the ones with the AURA RGB lighting. I'm really enjoying your videos by the way! Keep up the good work :)
With a software update I am sure they can fix the LED's. Build mine yesterday and I like it so far. My only real complaint besides it is that the LED's color is too light, you can't get those nice deep colours in it like a dark purple or green.
6:20 Love the epic vapor coming in showing off how epic the epicness is Jay haha. In all seriousness though that was pretty awesome.

It's so nice to see how you are always evolving your videos! Loved it when you got into 4K! More future proof! :D Keep up the good work, this is the channel I go for reviews when I'm upgrading my stuff!
ive been looking at this MoBo sence it was out, and this video sold me on it. i know dont just take your word for it but ive always had a soft spot for MSI, and those Green LED's arent an issure because my fans are PWM. and good job on video quality, the smoke effect is awesome and that B-roll is Sexy AF. while overclocking you should show the thermals of this board with the Heat thing you got at CES...please. have a good one Jay, keep doing you.
great stuff mate, great motherboard... and I totally agree with what you say about that green LED - it really sucks to have it messing up this otherwise fantastic looking build!
great video! I just recently got an ASRock x99 board that is cheaper than other x99 boards but is way better in durability and ease of use. I also really like the steam punk Aesthetics on the board.
Hi Jay, I would love to see some in-depth guide for beginners for overclocking. More importantly what exactly those fancy term mean, and what do they do.
The Maximus IX Hero would be a nice look at the ROG boards this time around since they've been performing pretty good the last few generations. Especially the Hero.
You're the man Jay, been looking at this mobo but kinda scared because my first MSI board (z87 GD65) is a dud when it comes to overclocking. Can't even get a stable 4.2ghz on a 4770K under 1.3v.
I put a ton of effort in to this video. Show me your appreciate it with the like button.... or if you didn't like it, just punch my face. That works too.
JayzTwoCents Awesome video Jay!
JayzTwoCents liked! Hope the channel grows even more in 2017! Bought a lot of stuff based on your reviews!
That b-role...man thats sexy...
Don't worry, i already hit that like button :D
Great video! And I am happy to see 4k60pfs aswell :)
Stunning B-roll and a well structured, unbiased review within a reasonable amount of time to keep viewers engaged. Thank you Jay for all the hard work you do for our viewing pleasure, please never stop.
respektek you said it better than I could have ever done, but you say exactly what we all think
smoke was a nice touch, but i would recommend maybe coming up from the bottom, rolling across the table, instead of just floating past like clouds. don't know why, it just makes sense to me as something that would look even better.
It was gas from dry ice, not smoke. Therefor it was lighter than smoke and I cannot control where it rolls.
makes sense.
Sure smoke machines make thicker smoke, but unless it's not cooled it would make clouds like Jays "smoke" did ;)
JayzTwoCents nah you just didn't try
JayzTwoCents actually if you use a fog machine and run it through a cooler of dry ice, it will stick to the ground. #filmriot
Jay is one of the few Techtubers who actually upload their videos in 60 FPS. I appreciate that, more people should do it!
Yeah, watched this on 1440p60, was so crisp.
MaelstromWrath tfw my bad internet isnt fast enough for 1440p so i watch 360p
I didn't even notice the video is in 60fps. Most people probably don't until they check the quality.
4k 60fps too. That is unheard of.
Kyle on Bitwit does 60fps aswell. Though I personally don't care if it's 30fps on simple product reviews.
Dude I was stoked when I saw this was in 4K 60FPS its awesome.
Automatic? Not a stick shift? WHA?!
I'm glad to be a part of your channel growth. Almost 1 million subscribers. What a journey man.
It's the Spinal Tap numbering system.
Their Amps go to 11 because 11 is louder than 10!
It's one louder
he look exhausted, damn.
It's called Parenthood
yeah im not sure how parents do it, i watched my 2yr old nephew for a day it almost killed me
I call it life in coop mode with third player in tutorial.
It's crazy that I first started watching your stuff when you had just over 70,000 subscribers. I enjoy your content and it's obvious by the 900,000+ subscribers that other people do as well. Keep up the good stuff, man.
@jaytwocents make a video about the MSI M5 Z270, That's what I am currently rocking.
Randy Kelly can it auto over clock also?
leroy jenkins Only setting I see for Auto overclock is Game mode which OC my 7700k to 4.8Ghz
leroy jenkins kinda wish I could've gotten the M7, maybe I'll sell this one and upgrade
Randy Kelly I'm probably gonna buy the m7 it just seems way more efficient to be able to overclock like this
I say do it if you can afford it
I've been super excited to see this B-roll, Jay! Less than 3 minutes in and already loving it! Can't wait to see the rest!
They just wanted you to be able to "TURN IT UP TO 11!!!!!"
Good job! The B-Roll really was up a notch! And those ambient rgb lights are really spicing your videos. Keep up your motivation and good spirit, I would like to keep watching your videos for a long time!
Jay the type of nigga to build a hackintosh and Bootcamp windows on it
I just gotta say man, i love the fact that you managed to keep the old school flavor to the channel man, kudos for that man, some others just sort of took it way to professional, way too serious and that's why, for three years in a row, Jay remains my N01 tech enthusiast youtuber. Great vid, wonder if we're gonna get G45 version of the Z270 chipset.
and there is no LED informing that the board is in the chassis?
mmmph dat b-roll Jay. I wish you had a playlist of just b-roll that i could listen to and view out of the corner of my eye all day at work. It's so relaxing
Fractal cooler in a Corsair case?!?! BLASPHEMY!
I agree. Motherboards are super important. I cheaped out on my motherboard and I can't even overclock my Fx 6300 with my Be quiet Pure Rock because the VRM's overheat. Great video Jay!
Replacing that green LED, or taking it out completely can't be that hard O.o
OR or... one can just use PWM parts i mean... i always prefer pwm fans/pumps/wtvr but ofc to each his own. still i'd prefer if MSI would let me control that led's color. and a color wheels. why msi, why? wtf is wrong with you guys?!
Black insulating tape. Quality tape from Tesa.
+Ruma i will "never" do a green build, but i get your joke ^^
you shouldn't have to...they should have an off switch in the software... especially on a $250 motherboard
I love how it's basically just black/grey, especially now that everything has RGB lighting. Makes it so much easier to mix and match different components from different manufacturers, if you're trying to make your pc look decent.
"There are some very user friendly features as WHERL"
I love that you did this video. I recently just bought the Z270 XPower Titanium mobo and put my 6700k in it and wow! x2 flashing, x2 terrible xDD
Awesome job, your video had an improved level of visual detail that was impossible to miss. Nice flourishes and effects too, excellent work!

I really like the step up in background lighting it really helps things pop.
Adjusting the OC in your O is huge, as sometimes booting causes problems for various OCs, that allows an O applied OC to actually be more stable.
VERY COOL!
Thanks Jay, I was strongly considering this board for an upgrade based initially on CES coverage, it's great to get a bit more in depth view of it.
Production quality is way up, Jay! Nice!

Great B-roll. The video quality and style of your videos is improving all the time!!! Great stuff thanks for making.
Instant like just for the b roll and the lightning didnt think it would have made that much of a difference but GOD DAMN BEAUTIFUL
Im rocking MSI Boards for quite a while now, currently the m5 z170, always lived up to my expectations.
That B-roll was soooo pretty. Great job Jay! :)
Nice work Jay, really stepped up your video quality in this one. B roll on point.
This video is over 10min long but Jay only put a single ad on it...
Good guy Jay!
One of your most informative vids Jay. With the multitude of Z270 boards released recently it's nice to see some opinions to give us some clarity. Those Green LEDS have to go!

Hey Jay, just wanted to say good job on the video! The coloured lights you bought really add to the video!
Oh dude, thanks for putting so much work into your videos. Realy good
Beautiful visuals, Jay. Made an otherwise straightforward video into art.
Nice :)
awesome work Jay. Love the whole smoke effect. Thanks for the great content
your eyes are really green! Loving the backlighting too, those accent lights are proving their worth IMO.
That was an AWESOME B-Roll Jay, I definitely want MOAR of those :)
Jay, Great video. I've owned both MSI boards and ASUS boards. I have to say that MSI some really nice things over ASUS, such as the command center. I've used it. It's brilliant. And the UEFI on MSI is WAAAAY better.
4k AND 60FPS; you're pleasuring my eyes Jay, keep it up!
I bought one of these a couple weeks ago. Glad you like it. I like it too.

I just watched that B roll like 3 times.
I like the quality of the image. You really change with that new equipment.
He actually mentioned the downsides of the board. No cover-ups. That's why I like reviews from here.
B roll was great. The effort is appreciated. Just a little spot of black plasti-dip using a small brush on those green led's and your problem is solved. It will come off easily if you ever need to remove it, and its non conductive.
really liked the video.. the b roll was nicely done.. would love to see more of such creativity.. makes the experience enjoyable..
Always love your work Jay thank you
I like the smooth, slate black theme of this motherboard. It's very slick.
Love the idea of auto overclocks I feel thats the way it's all going, places are even starting to put warrenty on overclocks and AOI coolers. I have a 7700K and an ASUS Z270A with the Cosair H115i, it's OC'd at 4.8GHz and it has 3 years warrenty.
Also the Asus Z270 A looks AMAZING, pictures do not do this board justice, fits perfectly in my black and white build.
Your content is amazing Jay! Keep doing the good work :D
Jay as always another good informative video ! Thanks man , I finally finished my first water cooling loop because of you and what I've learned off of your channel. It's no skunk works but it is mine
A few things....
1 - What is up with the smoke??? :P
2 - Couldn agree more...
Awesome video, Jay! And that build looks like a DREAM! I love your content and I always look forward to more. Keep up the good work!
2:04 the sound summarizes it all
I appreciate that you pointed out that silly fan LED issue. What a foolish oversight considering the other details MSI put into this board.
Thank you for doing this video. I have been waiting for this! (I love the boost knob on my z170 M7, very convenient)
Right angled connectors is the way to go in my opinion, having a stiff bulky cable like the USB3.0 header one going up then having to bend it to route it behind the motherboard is PITA. 24 pin should be standarized to be sideways as well, although that would mean you cant quite show off your custom cables as well.
I remember seeing 270 concepts from MSi that looked very gawdy, so this look is def appreciated.
I'd love to see some of the new Asus boards that are out there. Especially the ones with the AURA RGB lighting.
I'm really enjoying your videos by the way! Keep up the good work :)
Jay thanks for this video. I was planing to buy this MoBo and this green LED changed my mind. Spared me a deep regret.
Love your videos bro. You're the reason I'm building my first computer wish I had one like red mist lol maybe one day. Keep up the good work man.
With a software update I am sure they can fix the LED's.
Build mine yesterday and I like it so far.
My only real complaint besides it is that the LED's color is too light, you can't get those nice deep colours in it like a dark purple or green.
Awesome Video J. You are getting better.
I love the lighting. The video quality has gotten a lot better I think, compared to even early 2016.
Excellent in-depth video, Jay!
4k....60frame.... damn!!!! Great Video Jay !!!!
great video J. I didn't want to get into the old habit of not giving you input so keep up the good work.
I was seriously annoyed by the green LED as well, but from the brightness of that thing I figured you would have noticed it.
Nice video Jay been following you for a long time and donated money to your channel you and Bitwit Kyle are my favorite youtubers
ive been looking at this MoBo sence it was out, and this video sold me on it. i know dont just take your word for it but ive always had a soft spot for MSI, and those Green LED's arent an issure because my fans are PWM. and good job on video quality, the smoke effect is awesome and that B-roll is Sexy AF. while overclocking you should show the thermals of this board with the Heat thing you got at CES...please. have a good one Jay, keep doing you.
Great video, liked the "showcase" of the motherboard :). Definetly more of that!
great stuff mate, great motherboard... and I totally agree with what you say about that green LED - it really sucks to have it messing up this otherwise fantastic looking build!
Nice vid Jay, nice smoke effect in there too.
great video!
Thanks for your review, I buy this MB justnow and it's very simple to OC. Thanks again!
The Maximus IX Hero would be a nice look at the ROG boards this time around since they've been performing pretty good the last few generations. Especially the Hero.
Your videos are very educational and I liked it when comes to PC!👍👍👍
NIce video man, keep it up!
Really good video quality as well :)
i have always been happy with msi, I find they are a little cheaper than other brands but their build quality is always top notch.
Very nice Jay .. Love the smoke effect awesome
liked, commented, already subscribed....u deserve this, jay, and u deserve even more :) keep it up
Dude love your work here
You're the man Jay, been looking at this mobo but kinda scared because my first MSI board (z87 GD65) is a dud when it comes to overclocking. Can't even get a stable 4.2ghz on a 4770K under 1.3v.
Your quality is top notch Jay.
