What We Cooked for Our FIRST CAMPING BREAKFASTS - and My Kids New Favorite FRENCH TOAST SAUSAGE DOGS

  • Griddle camping recipes - let's go! These are the first few camping breakfasts that we made on the Weber portable griddle - and I felt a little bit like a Waffle House short order cook! We started our first morning with some awesome breakfast bagels (and a griddle omelette for the wife).
But the surprise hit was our "Breakfast French Toast Hot Dogs" - just using up leftover breakfast ingredients that we had. If you're looking for new breakfast camping recipes to make on the portable griddle, give these a try!
More camping recipes coming soon! And shout out to Bryson City, NC - it was a GREAT first weekend trip for us!

Dawn power wash is a must have for camp dishes. Just spray the dirty knives, spatulas and dishes and set them in a tub(without water). After 5 minutes or so use a wet sponge to wipe them down then rinse in a tub of clean water and dry. Really helps minimize water use. This is a great series, Thankyou for some new ideas for camping.

I’m going to recommend you buy or build yourself a chuck box type camp kitchen that you can throw on the back of the truck. Cooking out of totes grows old fast and there’s nothing like the convenience of having your ingredients, spices, and utensils easily at hand. Also, a 6” folding Cosco table is a godsend.

Great video! I'm watching it from my campsite in Texas. An idea I thought I would share. I prepped some of my meals before leaving home: I diced up.the veggies for fajitas and vacuum sealed them so they wouldn't stink up the camper and they didn't leak out everywhere. Same with the chicken, I slices it up and sealed for easier cooking once I got to the campsite. Oh, and I had butter!!!😂

Most travel trailer have a propane quick connect under the trailer on the door side a few feet from your onboard tanks. This is gas that is already regulated pressure. If you can remove the current line with the regulator and put on a line with a quick connect then the extra tank stays home. I have a Camp Chef stove with the griddle. Small surface but it works okay. Enjoy time with your family outdoors.

Wow! Those elk were so neat to see up close! Can’t wait to try those French toast breakfast sausage dogs! Genius! As avid campers we LOVE this series idea and hope you do a lot more! A few little tips that I find super helpful, prep as much as you can before you go. I don’t want to be spending a lot of time when I’m camping doing all the prep. Leaves more time for fishing, swimming, campfire sitting! 😍 I chop veggies, measure our pancake batter in ziplocks and add water to the bag when I’m ready to cook. No dishes! Marinate meat in ziplocks. I even freeze my scrambled eggs in ziplocks and pour them out on the griddle when I’m ready. We pack a dozen at a time in each bag. They freeze flat and hardly take up any room in the cooler. Works great! Pre prep is where it’s at! Can’t wait to see where y’all go next! Thanks for doing all you do! 😊

@@TheFlatTopKing I really enjoy y'alls videos. I feel like I learn something each time. Learn or not...I enjoy the variety of the videos. Plus I like the husband/wife vibe! Is it my imagination...or is she "actively participating" more lately? Watching from Alabama...

Ingenious use of leftover items Boss! Damn shame it was raining. Otherwise you could have had a campfire to stick a foot in while eating the pigs in a blanket 😊. Glad you had a great trip.

My understanding is that there are decommissioned navy ships that allow camping on the deck of the ship. How cool would it be to see Neal get back to his Navy roots and make breakfast on a ship the family is camping on?!?

That would be awesome...mine is complete stripped and was scheduled to be sunk...but I think its still a float on the TX coast...
