  • So, not really a video about flying, as about what 30 days in Initial Type Rating Training was like for me this past September. Away from home, the stress, and the outcome. Some say after an initial, that's it - no more. But then, pilots collect ratings in many aircraft - I've known pilots with over 20 type ratings. But for me, I think two will do.

Loved the video! How is the type rating? I’ve yet to get a type rating but I’m curious how difficult it is.

Getting my first type rating in the Challenger was, well a Challenge, I would think it a bit easier to start of with a smaller jet, but the whole process was doable obviously. I came from a King Air background as well as smaller aircraft. I had to not only learn how to operate a jet differently, (ie keep you feet on the floor and not on the rudders for example, (some of the time) as well as learn the Collins ProLine 21 FMS - both were all new to me. But if you apply yourself and keep at it, and you have a good company that believes in you, I would go for the rating in any jet you can - best of luck!

@@ginothecat Thank you! Thankfully I have some jet experience but it’s very minimal. About 20 ish hours in a CJ3 with a Pro Line Fusion. Hopefully I’ll have a good result when the time comes!
