Great video again Sam, all that work with Spielberg really paid off, and nice shadow puppet! Deffo going to take this advice going forward. Especially the shadow puppet.
Soft box mostly or bounced light. Can't help it but just love that soft wrapping light, but the softer the prime, the more contrast and love I think is needed for the rest of the frame. Direct light or hard light can be very effectfull used with the right story. Great video as always Sam. Love your stuff. Making me a much better creator (I hope atlest) and your videos are very inspiring.
Another awesome tickety-boo top tipping straight to the point video - it is like adding a cloud I need a HUGE softbox to smooth out Gordon Ramsey Forehead! I have that modifier you can borrow it if you want cheers H
I'll definitely have to try out some hard lighting for my close-up-on-a-part B-roll footage! The twinkle filter may be a bit much for that sort of shot, but I'm tempted to try it just once.
Great video Sam, thank you. As always, you explain everything so clearly and I love your humour!. As you say, it depends on the mood you want to create. I love both soft and hard light. If we always used the same lighting, photos and videos would be extremely boring. Good luck in your experimenting with the optical condenser for light modifying. I bought a similar one just after Christmas but broke my shoulder just after buying it so I have only tried it out on a few studio test photos with a mannequin head but I am looking forward to using it, and the multiple gobos which came with it, for a photo shoot and also for a studio video. As it has a Bowens mount, it can be used on LED and flash lights as long as the bulb doesn't protrude to much. Please do make one of your extremely informative and interesting videos on your experience with your optical condenser and gobos, Sam. Keep up the excellent work! Speak soon. Andy
Hello :) to shoot a selftape at home, would you recommend the oct a softbox or the parabolic? If you have the space and budget. Do you think there is a difference ? Thank you
Hi. Whatever is best for your space really. The only things to keep in mind are the size of the softbox (the bigger and closer, the softer the light) and the quality/type of diffusion 🤩 I hope that helps 🎥
@@SamHolland cheers.... My office is about as tight as yours, don't film in it often though..... I also have the S5, usually use the 20-60 at 20mm.... Literally just shot a talking head using the 24-105 I bought off Josh over the weekend 👍
Which do you prefer, softbox, or no soft box?? Let us know 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻
LOVED THIS!! the value of this is immense!
Thank you brother 🙏🏻 nothing you don’t know already! 💪🏻🎥📺

I know, I saw your video about it 😃 that why I’m going for 100 or 120. But I’m esitate between the Rollie octa 100cm and the Godox parabolic 120.
If you have the space and you want softer light, go bigger 😉💪🏻🎥 let us know what you decide. And thanks for watching 🙏🏻🎉
@@SamHolland sure :) thank you 🙏🏼
can you do a finger puppet tutorial? thanks.
😂
Well, the only reason I don't have a softbox is because I use Rotolight and I'm not made out of money. I think I'll just use an umbrella, haha.
Wow
Can you do "deformed rabbit" ? Thanks.
😂 I think that’s the only thing I can do!
What lens do you use when shooting in the office?
Like my talking head shots? Either 24mm or 35mm 🙏🏻🎥

Spray fog set off your fire alarm? Weird.
Yeh! 🤔
Before I watch this, I bet the result is "personal preference" and "context" / "situation"
Pretty much… but with added tips and ideas for people who don’t know. Hope you enjoy 🤩🙏🏻🎥
@@SamHolland Haha, good video dude
