I was in a Walgreens today. On the counter in the FedEx drop off area they had a small mailbox with a sign on it that asked "what is your favorite memory?" No context. Just the box with the sign. In all seriousness, life is fleeting, there is an ebb and flow to it, changing from moment to moment. Maybe the meaning of life is in the moments themselves.

Bart nailed it though. The meaning of life is whatever you want it to be. It's subjective. But there's also the biological meaning of life and that's to reproduce and sustain the species. And Joe is right to, when it comes to religion. The fear of not existing anymore created the afterlife theory. Religion is quite selfcentered when it comes to a lot of things.
Great topic(s) guys! What made time, space, and matter? You can't have one without the other in our universe. If you really examine our existence... the complex life forms on this earth and the inorganic things that perfectly support us universally; I think you could find yourself seeing the truth in God. But you're right people will believe what they want to believe; even if all the evidence is in front of them. btw I'm not here to condemn; everyone will come to terms with the path they choose and I'm okay with being held accountable for my actions. Also I rather follow Jesus' path because the love, mercy, and patience he has for all of us and in following his path the worries of this life don't matter. Jesus' script is such an easy one to follow... love and respect the creator aka God; love and respect your fellow man i.e. honor your parents, don't murder, adultery, steal, lie, or covet/envious of others' things. I'm okay with being led because God said he would take care of me if I follow him. And God doesn't lie. Check out the Tanakh/Old Testament which Jesus verified by his very existence. Also the New testament Jesus' ministry and resurrection has been verified by eyewitnesses in that generation of both believers and non believers. May God bless you and your families! 😁♥
From a personal perspective: To discover and create your "purpose" for existing, whatever that means to you, to live your life doing that while monetizing that to be able to not only survive and exist, but to progress and thrive. To live as healthy as possible to hopefully realize those thoughts and dreams. To be able to be self sufficient and independent, so you can serve others in need. From a general perspective: To live healthy and to survive to pro-create to further the human species. From a selfish perspective: To meet Joe and Bart and the JK crew, and go shoot all the guns we want with unlimited ammo.. and to eat some barbecue, Korean fried chicken and milkshakes.. To have talks like... this..
Side note if anyone is looking to have a Bible study group I'm up for it. I think that would be pretty fun... a group of free thinkers and fans of JKN reading and studying the Bible. :0)
13:44 - How can a good and omnipotent God allow evil, e.g. "bone cancer in children?" First, God doesn't create evil for He is in His essence holy (absolute ethical purity, not arbitrary). Second, we live in a dark universe fallen from grace and the reality that original glory is broken as a result of original sin, which embraces two things: first, hereditary guilt (Rom. 5:18-19), and second, hereditary corruption (Ps. 51:5). So regarding diseases (bone cancer in children), still birth, and other secondary causes of death for a baby in the womb and out of the womb, hereditary corruption is one reason. Hereditary guilt is the other reason. The Law and Gospel, the damning and saving, of Scripture is "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus" (Rom 6:23).
If you look at all religion like joe does that just says that you've haven't even looked at any of them deep enough 😅 Objective truth has to exist if not nothing does. The question is where do you find it.
I did one of those past life readings. If i remember, I got a young poor, but happy boy for one and a man some time in the 1800s who worked too much and had a very rigid all work/no play life. Lowkey it would've been fun to see if my past life was royalty, but I'd rather have this
All religions and worldviews (including atheism, agnosticism, pantheism) contradict each other fundamentally. There is no such thing as a relative or subjective meaning or truth. To assert such is self-contradictory, and therefore an objective truth. The meaning of life and the meaning of death is only one thing objectively: Christ Jesus. "For to me to live is Christ and to die is gain" (Php 1:21) Gain what? Or more accurately gain Who? Gain Jesus Christ! Who is the absolute Good. The Fountain of all blessings and goodness. When Christ has you in His nail pierced hands, you have Him. When you have Him, you have Everything Good. The Infinite and Eternal Good. He alone, with the Father and the Holy Spirit, is Good. He alone causes good, even sending rain and sunshine to the wicked unbeliever and the righteous believer.

@@Pharaoh_The_Great More likely he was coming down with something. He works very hard with training clients and doing more than one podcast. And Tim had mentioned on a recent podcast that a lot of people they know had been sick recently. Plus, Nick for the longest time was in every episode, while the others took turns taking time off. He probably just needed a break or some time off for R&R.
Actually, no, not "everybody literally thinks the same shit", so no, not "everyone is lost". That is the problem with making absolute statements such as "everybody" and "everyone". People think differently even if in miniscule ways. People don't all have the same exact thoughts on an given topic, to be in full agreement. If they did then there would be a lot less strife and dissidence in the world.
@bethnichols2875 I meant this as a comment to how all influencers/ most average people that talk about being humble but turn around and pocket millions of money still like its the meaning of life. Then there's people like me. Yeah everyone is lost
@@HerosHood You are still speaking in absolutes in claiming "all influencers". And if you think "most average people" have millions, you are sadly mistaken. Yet even though some people may make millions, that doesn't mean they pocket it all for themselves. Some actually try to do good with it to help other people and people in the community. For example: look at Mr. Beast. He helped build 100 wells in African villages, helped get a bridge built between a village and the local school and hospital, and helped get lights set up in an African village so they could safely get around. Joe is another example. He and David built Junbi in Hawaii to create jobs for the locals so they could make money. And when the wildfires happened in Maui, Joe and David's company donated profits from sales at Junbi towards the Maui relief fund, helping families that reached out to Joe asking for help. They don't act like money is the meaning of life, because they realize that people matter.
