I used to do this when I first began digital art bc I wanted to create that watercolor effect since I was a watercolor artist before going digital. One of my classmates at that time told me that it was cheating and wrong for me to add textures. Thank god I just brushed her off since adding textures greatly helped me in making digital paintings.
My gf and I were just talking about something similar to this situation. She said, years ago, that other artists told her it doesn't matter what program you use when she'd ask them what programs they used. They told her that all programs are made equal. After seeing what CSP can do, she got really upset that someone would steer her in the wrong direction like that. As artists we need to be helping eachother, not gatekeeping things. Glad you brushed that person off and continued doing what you wanted. It's not cheating in the slightest.
As an artist that usually uses traditional art, this is a life saver. My digital pieces are always very "fake" looking because I don't have that natural texture that appears in traditional art. Thank you for the tutorial.
You have a lovely soft voice that is perfect for tutorials. Keep going and producing your gorgeous art. As a more mature person getting back into my art these days, I truly appreciated your guidance.
Wow this was helpful to learn about the technical side starting with the imports. This wasn't a super long video and it was overwhelmingly cute. Thanks for the share!
Thank you for explaining that❤ I tend to find technical tutorials overwhelming, but this was cute, simple, and very useful. Now I can add some zhuzh to my art (screech)
I'm a new user to this program (CSP) and was struggle a lot with playing textures, like I used to made in Paint Tool Sai. But then, this video popped up nowhere. It's really really helpful! I also enjoy a lot how you simply explained it yet it is so informative. Thank you so much! 🤗 (P.s. also I found that your art is aesthetically pleasing, and your voice soothes my mood somehow. 🥺💙)
I have this at a sped up playback speed and it sounds normal. I'm scared to put it at normal because slow talkers irk me. But I need to know just how slow you are talking. Simple enough method.
hello can anyone explain vector layer to me will a vector layer automatically be created or will u have to create one urself i dont understand it at all ive watched this vid 3 times thxs
In Clip Studio Paint vector layers are layers where you can adjust lines and shapes after you've drawn them. This is because shapes become "objects" rather than a punch of individual pixels. When adding an image as a pattern, the image will automatically be added to a new vector layer. It won’t be added to an already existing layer, but you can merge vector layers to raster layers in order to convert them into raster layers. This makes it easier to edit the color of your image/pattern, but you loose certain properties, like editing how the image tiles. I hope that helps :)
I was really hoping to find some new Inking shading and texturing techniques to try which I think is sadly lacking in much of western media, but I'm glad I stopped to watch this as well.

Yeah it's not cheating because professional artists has been using that technique since the age of time.
texturing is a part of art, your friend was/is crazy
Yeah dumb people, someone told me the bucket tool was cheating too
