The shop i was painting at was broken into a few months back and a lot of my tools were stolen, i picked up 4 kits of the skull after seeing yours and Gunny's videos on it to get me by after having 10 Sata 5000B and 2 5500's stolen and if im honest about it after i got over my own personal Sata bias i don't really have any desire to go back. Im happy with the way the Skull sprays, feels right at home for me between the feel and finish of the jet 5000 and the 5500, ill probably be picking up one or two more now that theyre selling them as standalones
Hi Bryan, Sorry to hear that mate, people are just scum sometimes, I've had tools stolen before and you get attached to them, then it gone. The ANI 200 does feel very similar to the Sata's imo and performs pretty well. Also, it's a bargain as a kit, to be honest, with the 3 caps and a readily available cheap spares kit, what's not to like
Both look great, Pete. I am happy to hear you lean towards the Skull. I bought the kit months ago but haven't had a chance to use it, although it will be the gun I use for current project vehicle when it's ready to spray..
Hi Mate, There's no doubt it is a great value for money kit. There is a slightly flatter finish with the Skull on these 2 panels, although they are both excellent, considering it was 10c, and its a cheaper clear coat. They are both brilliant value for money. The F160 is still my top gun at its price point. Each time I use it, I can't help thinking how good it can be. Hopefully, you will get to use the Skull soon, but it you don't, it sure is great to look at 😁, cheers buddy, appreciate it 👍
@@peteshobbies5383 😂Yes sir, it is a brilliant looking gun. Coincidently, I also bought a similarly themed skull designed Walcom Killer Kombat, which has ended up as my sealer (wet-on-wet, as some say) gun. I've used it for base and clear but had terrible orange peel. I'm sure it was something I did or didn't do correctly that caused it, but I'm "gun" shy to use it for that purpose now.
Hi Pete, i gotta admit, i use the F160 at 1.6 bar (with a 25liter compressor) and it works very good, just the fan a Little bit smaller with uhs clears...
Hi Cristian, That's good going, I use it around there for basecoat, but more for clear dependent on finish required, what CFM is your compressor out of interest?

This is off topic but im getting a gun for base and clear ive airbrushed for awhile and like iwata for a base clear gun should i go kiwami4 or wider4 eventually ill get 1 of each and use one for clear one base but i plan at giving this a go and want to be descent ive painted windows for a job done a few different types but want to paint cars since i buy and sell 40s 50s 60s cars anyway mise well paint them and i can't find cups with 1/4 inch 19 bsp male just adaptors

@peteshobbies5383 we talked a few times about our spray guns. How I use to use all Walcom but switched to all DV1 guns because the Walcoms didn't last. Yesterday evening i was clear coating a hood with the DV1-C and it was a little colder temperature but i had to go extremely slow to get a build on that was flat. Do you feel the ANI 200 black for clear is better thsn DV1? Probably faster i imagine
@@peteshobbies5383 ok i just watched your other video where you had the ani 200 black skull and a silver f160. So if I buy the skull it comes with a Cap for clear, a Cap for base coat, and an HVLP Cap?
@user-un5my5bw4j Hi William, there's nothing between them are far as finish goes, but you're right, The ANI is a faster gun. That's one of the criticisms levelled against the DV1 Clear gun, especially with the C1 cap. It's relatively slow. The ANI is cheaper than a DV1. Longevity probably won't be as good, but you can get a service kit for them relatively cheap, so not really a worry

Hola amigo, depende de qué tapa final tengas en la F160, pero la tapa HPS de este video no consume mucho aire en comparación con la mayoría de las pistolas de tamaño completo. Es un poco más que el FLG5.
@kingdavid4725 Yes, one day I will, but it won't be until next summer as the Lux is in Spain where I bought it and will not be coming to the UK until June next year as I need to transport it back
You have to be careful using drinks cups. A lot of them are internally wax coated to make them waterproof, and thinners can strip it off contaminating your paint.
Hi buddy, You're right. If they are waxed coated, they can cause problems. Fortunately, wax coatings are a thing of the past for the most part, I guess they are still around, but certainly, all the ones I've used and seen aren't so haven't caused any problems. Thanks for pointing that out, as others read this, and it's worth knowing, cheers 👍
Not to get off the subject but what type scale are you using to calculate ur measurements ? Love both guns, have a Awata kiwimi 4 n supernova LS 400. Love ur reviews PETE ! 😃
Hi James, these are just a set of scales I got with my mini Kapci scheme. You can buy them on Ebay really cheaply. I have a much more expensive set that you plug into a pc but I don't use them now, I just use these as they are quick and easy and if I mix up paint I use these and the software on my phone, easy enough. I like the LS400, I always hesitate to recommend it as it uses so much air, so it's not ideal for some. Cheers, mate, appreciate the comments 👍
Hi Pete, mate you must be psychic😲I was wondering last night if you had done a comparison video of the ANI Skull V F160 as I was looking at both guns yesterday on Spray Guns Direct and also wondering if the aircaps were interchangeable😱that's just freaky🤓🤣 Great video Pete, as you mentioned there is little difference between the finishes from both guns but I prefer the F200 (Skull) as it's a nice kit to own along with the three aircaps and I love the digital gauge you get with it, they also sell the Skull as a stand alone gun with no case and only one aircap, I don't remember the price but it's quite a bit cheaper🤔 I have some brand new panels arriving today and hopefully I'll order some more next week, I'll then have 10-14 wings to choose from I've been looking a tanks but there isn't that much about but what I have found are very expensive, second hand tank prices have gone crazy🤷♂👍
Hi John, I didn't know they did the Skull as a stand-alone. There is a slight difference to the finish on these 2, but they are both really good. The F160 is great value, as is the Skull. Bike tanks are expensive, for sure, even if one's with a fair amount of damage still commands a good price, I see your cornering the panel market mate with that many 😂 👍
Hi John, just a quick note to you and anyone else reading this, the Skull that is sold without the kit also doesn't have the digital gauge. I thought it's worth mentioning 👍
The stand alone Skull isn't a bad price as it seems to be a good quality gun I did notice that there is no gauge and only one aircap as well. I think if I ever get the ANI Skull I would get the full kit version with the case as it just seems better value for money then if you want they also sell the 1.4 setup so maybe get that as well but I'm not sure what other tip sizes you get in the kit or is it just the 1.3🤔 ATM though I want to stock up on some more panels, had 2 more wings arrive today but these are second had but they do look ok🤞thanks Pete🤓👍
Pete I have as you know the ANI160Q haven't used it yet but been told it's a cracking gun one problem uses loads of air mate the devilbiss smart repair s 1.2 is ment to be a cracking gun I love to see pete the sagola extreme my favourite guns mini VRS the sata mini and the devilbiss smart pro s in a shoot out 😅😅😅😅 whitch mini will come out first
Hi Andy, The ANI R160 doesn't use lots of air. The Sagola Mini Xtreme does use a lot of air for a mini gun anyway, which is a shame as it's really good. The Devilbiss DV1 is a very good gun. It uses more air than the small Pro Lite but certainly less than the Sagola. They are all great guns to be fair, so it's more of a question of what suits the person using it and what they are doing as to which one is best, cheers mate 👍
@ANDY-we7mr Hi Mate, Yes, I turn it to around 45psi for a clear coat, but that's the pressure, that is different from the consumption . Think of your garden hose. If you cover the hose end up with your finger, you get a smaller jet with more pressure but it's not using much water, if you take you finger away, the pressure is less but it's using more water, cheers mate 👍
I’ve got an flg 5 , it’s quoted as approx. 10cfm, the r160 is quoted as approx 7.5 cfm . Several people have said the r160 is air thirsty? I’ve got a 100ltr oil free silent compressor 10.7 cfm and i’m always looking for low consumption guns, i’m a bit confused with this one.
@cynt1111 Hi Timmy, The ANI R160 with the HPS cap is quoted by ANI as 4.24 CFM @2.2 bar , which isn't much, what I will say is it needs more pressure than 2.2 bar so at 3.5 bar for clear it's around 5.5 to 6 bar I guess.
I bought an flg5 maybe 2 years ago because of recommendations online and I honestly hated. The fan was small to me it was super slow. The only thing I liked it for was sealer.
Hi buddy, I've had an FLG5 for probably 8 years , I was quite happy with it, to be honest, then, around 4 years ago, I got an F160, and it was so much better, a bigger fan wile still keeping it wet, great to use. I actually sold my FLG5 after getting the F160 but bought it back from the guy I sold it to as he didn't use it. Cheers, buddy 👍
The FLG5 is no miracle maker, just a manageable gun for the DIYer. It's pretty decent for base and medium solids clear. The pressure can be turned up higher than the usually suggested 2 bar without going awry. That said, there's better. There's always better.
