Great video as always. There is another notable hint with that Nitro secret path. All of the nitros are stacked on top of metal crates which isn’t really seen anywhere else in the game. The Blue gem also has a very notable hint. If you replay the level (after collecting the normal gem) and reach the end, the game will tell you that you collected X boxes/0. This will make the player want to try beating the level with 0 boxes and the player already knows there is an extra gem in the level. Another thing I would like to bring up is that the fastest version is the PSTV version but nobody wants to run that version and it is controversial in the Crash 2 scene. It not only has faster loads but the game literally runs slightly faster in addition to having more input lag. The Any% WR is at a point where PS2 literally can’t compete iirc.
15:18 Wall Boosting is possible in the chase and river levels, used during downtime when not getting boxes, you hold diagonal into the wall and you move a lot faster, watch Crash Dash and Hang Eight in a run if you want examples :) Great video btw :D
Great video I always loved Crash 2 Speedruns probably in my top ten games for speedrunning actually. I'm thankful they didn't use the zip zag movement in the TAS as the game is much more entertaining without it. I hope one day someone will TAS TMNT Shredder's Revenge as I think it would make for an incredible TAS. Hopefully when that day comes you will do a video on it!!!
My favourite part of this video was Komodo Brothers "Then we end up with an autoscroller boss-" immediately skip past it I think the digging it box duping is risky because of the chance of getting 'shoes', which means the death takes too long for the dupe to work.
