I made this with mushrooms and the potatoes this time and now I have to make another batch as my family loved it . As their dad they thought I made this up myself 😂, great video !
Matt, Great recipe. I like to add the trinity of onions, celery and carrots. split peas and some chicken stock and water and a ham knuckle.. My seasonings. Then pressure cook. Then use my emersion blender to smooth out the pea soup. Then add diced ham.
Awesome recipe and looks tasty. can i use 10 minutes cook time and 3 quarters of the peas used in this recipe to have an even thicker split pea soup ? ( ive never used a p.cooker before and got mine about 2 weeks ago ). thanks for sharing.
Great idea, they could give a bit of variation that would be really nice. Personally I really don't like cooked carrots. I typically substitute butternut squash, but I don't think that would work in this recipe.

It looks great, I can't wait to make it. Can you also make Vegetable Beef Soup?
I just put this on in my Instant pot. It is just cooling off there now......Take care, Bluefin.
Looks delicious! I will try the Savoury spice! Thanks for the heads up on the valves getting clogged if overfull.
Savoury is great, but it doesn't have the profile of some other spices (To be fair, basil IS awesome). I like to put savoury in a lot of soups.
@@MattintheKitchen I grew up having Marjoram in it instead of the bay leaf. Have to be conservative with it but it provides an awesome flavor.

I wouldn't cut the cook time or the peas might not fully re-hydrate.
*The photo in the round bowl... Is that before or after you ate it?*
You forgot the carrots to make perfection.

SPIT pea soup, honestly?
HAHAHA, just saw that now, I'll fix it. Thanks!
