okay, for everyone who wants to use EXP GDC as egpu, is choosing what gpu to buy, and his notebook does NOT allow him to write to bios intsettings (even with EFI Shell) to enable hot-plug for its pcie: Do *NOT* buy: gtx1050,gtx1050Ti (,gtx1060 3G version) .... because for those gpus this will *not* work.. hope it helps someone, anyway, great video, thank for uploading :)
another discovery: my 1060 did not work, so I just installed Linux (Xubuntu) and tried it there..ofc half of games not compatible, half the performance, but it just *works*... (with both nvidia drivers or open source ones ..) I just dont get it... :D
God damnnnn...... I FINALLY MADE IT, after 16 hours of learning and setting up configurations I got my 1050 ti to work as a egpu. Will tell you more about it tomorrow.

Hi I have no problems with RainbowSix, Battlefield and COD. eGPU works well when using external display connecting directly to the card. But do expect long loading time due to the narrow bandwidth between Laptop and eGPU. If a game keep asking loading of resource from storage, expect frequent FPS drop.

just don't u will lose a lot of gpu performance because the wifi socket is way to less data transfer to that the gpu need as i remember it can reach about 5gb of transfer data but the the high end gpus need about 70~90 gbs to give the full power of the card i think u will not get far from ur 980m
I've been considering the investment on an external gpu for my laptop but that ain't gonna come cheap, so i need to be sure it will work first. This is the first tutorial i see that actually gets it done even in a laptop that has a dedicated nvidia gpu without having to tweak the bios. And usin the built in monitor! This makes me a bit more inclined to try it because i have a dedicated gpu but the bios in this laptop is very restricted so i'm afraid installing a modded bios could brick my laptop. If i decide to try it i'm gonna do it on a clean windows installation, so i guess the driver uninstalling process is not necessary. So basically i just have to disable the pci port that runs my internal gpu and then install the drivers for the external one? Do you think this may work with any external gpu?

I mean a pretty huge factor of the external monitor is it’s affect on the quality and the output of power being so much lower than with an external monitor, which is how it was intended to be used and how much more optimal the product performs in its intended usage environment
Hi there, unfortunately i cannot install 368.81 drivers. It says that the hardware is uncompatible. With 370.72 it works fine but when i try to upgrade the drivers as shown in the video my GTX1060(3gb) is not working again. The problem is that i cannot play some games, for example ACOrigins, which requires 388.00+ drivers.. Can somebody help me? :) Thanks!
I followed the steps as in the video but I still getting error 43. I have a GTX 1050 Ti, so I've tried installing 375.63 drivers first, and then the latest drivers as you show in the video. I managed to activate the HOTPLUG in the mpcie port and then tried installing the 375.63 drivers and it worked fine, but when i start playing any game after 30 minutes i get an error. I think that it is because i'm not using the latest drivers, but i don't know how to install the latest drivers without getting error 43. Can you help me?
Oh! Thanks, probably is that because the problems started a few days ago just when i changed the psu for an older one. Anyway i'd like to get the latest drivers working.
as for the latest driver will keep looking into it since I thought upgrading from 375.63 to latest would fix the problem, I don't have a GTX 1050 ti to check so if you can I will send you a link to a download and to check if it will get fixed.
hey man, i installed my gtx 760 and the latest driver. my problem is, that i can`t open the nvidia control panel. everytime i want to open it, i get the message that there isn`t a monitor connected to the 760. do you have any solution for that?

I'm trying to do mine on an HP-15 Notebook fwm272. When I start it up it'll detect it sometimes but other times it wont. If I restart the computer with it still in there to try and install the drivers the screen will go black unless I shut off the GPU. It's SO FRUSTRATING! :(

My external gpu is detected on device manager... and I disable internal gpu and pci root for internal gpu my problem is when I test benchmark game.. my 1050 gtx external is not working.

@@ammaryasser6588 I successfully made my 1050ti work, but I never encountered such problem, have you checked that the egpu has enough power to function because if the screen flickers, it might be a gpu problem.

Hi, im using the elitebook 8470p, with gtx 1050 2gb as my going to be egpu, but when i plug in the expresscard before boosting up, the screen goes black. The egpu fan is spinning and laptop still make sound. when i unplug it, the laptop restart on its own. if i plug it in after window start up, nothing but the hd graphic 4000 shows in the display adapter can you help me with this ?

+Cemre Egrikulah Nvidia stopped supporting external GPU adapters in their latest drivers, so installing the latest wont work, thats why we use this trick :D, and I am glad you liked the video, subscribe for more troubleshooting.
Hi Pedro, Could you help me a liitle? I do everything like in video but...After all steps install 368.81 then lattest NVIDIA drivers and pass through fine but after restart Windows stuck and shows BSOD with "Stop code SYSTEM SERVICE EXECPTION (there is no code for error)". My laptop is HP 4540s (i3, 8GB RAM, Intel HD 4000 and AMD 7650M), external GPU is GTX 650 Ti with Beast v8.5 and brand new PSU 550W Inter-Tech (german manifacturer). Could it be the problem in driver (lattest for GPU) and maybe try with older one or to looking for something else for this issue?
@@hmawla I try that driver and other differents but same BSOD after restart. In safe mode GTX 550 Ti is recognized, installs with no errors and when restart...BSOD. Maybe it is not a driver problem. Something in Windows (ports or something) that must turn off. Any suggestions?

@@FermiGBM1 hi it worked but it encountered a severe bottleneck on the cpu since it is a 6th gen cpu. I have finally surrendered and billing a gaming right with remaining parts.

so i managed to solve the code 43 error but the problem is that the NVIDIA display settings are not available when i tried opening the nvidia control panel. it says you are not currently using a display attached to an nvidia gpu
i know i read somewhere that you can flash the BIOS to enable the primary display setting from auto to "enabled" to resolve the issue. But flashing your ROM has some risks which might brick your system.
Hey would this work for a hp all in one pc? I checked my WiFi card it’s a ngff but I checked my bios there’s no advance options to disable the integrated ic I have a pentium g3260t 2.90ghz and is planning to use the gtx 1060. If you are using and external monitor make to to disable the internal one, it will give you an fps boost...

You intel GPU doesn't support internal screen use for external gpu, just use any monitor like ur TV or something should be easy... good luck...

It depends on the laptop if it supports it, also using the internal monitor will impact performance

if you are getting an error after a period of time it may be a power or a PSU problem try checking that.

hey man, i installed my gtx 760 and the latest driver.
my problem is, that i can`t open the nvidia control panel. everytime i want to open it, i get the message that there isn`t a monitor connected to the 760.
do you have any solution for that?

I'm trying to do mine on an HP-15 Notebook fwm272. When I start it up it'll detect it sometimes but other times it wont. If I restart the computer with it still in there to try and install the drivers the screen will go black unless I shut off the GPU. It's SO FRUSTRATING! :(

I've connected the mini pci from exp gdc with psu and connected an external msi gpu but Laptop cant recognize the external msi gpu the fan is working fine... My laptop has gpu installed already should I disable it first from device manager? or download msi driver first?[
Yes it works, you need to remove all power sources before connecting
My external gpu is detected on device manager... and I disable internal gpu and pci root for internal gpu my problem is when I test benchmark game.. my 1050 gtx external is not working.
I tested rtx 2080 ti it was running smoothly

Now i'm struggling with the blue screen (TDR ERROR). As i've been reading, it seems that is something to do about the driver version. But at least you solved the error 43.

Pedro Marthon Sorry, i dont know what a PSU is. But i've figured It out! I've done the same thing but instead of using the "Latest driver", i used the version 375.20. Now its perfect!

Finally I found an actual helpful video because I am using a 1050ti. That video is 3 years old now, what drivers do i need to use? is it the latest ones or the versions you gave us? Also another thing, I was able to make my 1050ti appear in the device manager with the drivers installed but if i dsabled my 960m, the 1050ti also disables itself. Im using a inspiron 15-7559

@@ammaryasser6588 I successfully made my 1050ti work, but I never encountered such problem, have you checked that the egpu has enough power to function because if the screen flickers, it might be a gpu problem.

i have one question. in other videos the guys say that u need an external monitor because you cant use the internal monitor with an eGPU. why can you use the monitor of the laptop? because of the M.2 slot which you use to connect with the graphics card?
to organize it, you should use a case slim for pc and is done! becasuse if you buy a case with a power supply is better.

Hi there. My Fujitsu Celsius H710 comes only with built in Nvidia Quadro 1000M card and I try to use Quadro 4000 card for the EXP GDC. When I try to use the Quadro 4000 with external monitor system crashes into BSOD and error message states driver failure. I I have NO intel hd graphics, how do I procede?

I've tried many iterations, and even disabling PCI Express Root one-by-one (there's 3, and the one that turns off the Graphics adapter turns off the 1060, not the 960A).

Hi, im using the elitebook 8470p, with gtx 1050 2gb as my going to be egpu, but when i plug in the expresscard before boosting up, the screen goes black. The egpu fan is spinning and laptop still make sound. when i unplug it, the laptop restart on its own.

+Cemre Egrikulah Nvidia stopped supporting external GPU adapters in their latest drivers, so installing the latest wont work, thats why we use this trick :D, and I am glad you liked the video, subscribe for more troubleshooting.

I do everything like in video but...After all steps install 368.81 then lattest NVIDIA drivers and pass through fine but after restart Windows stuck and shows BSOD with "Stop code SYSTEM SERVICE EXECPTION (there is no code for error)".
My laptop is HP 4540s (i3, 8GB RAM, Intel HD 4000 and AMD 7650M), external GPU is GTX 650 Ti with Beast v8.5 and brand new PSU 550W Inter-Tech (german manifacturer).
Could it be the problem in driver (lattest for GPU) and maybe try with older one or to looking for something else for this issue?

@@hmawla I try that driver and other differents but same BSOD after restart. In safe mode GTX 550 Ti is recognized, installs with no errors and when restart...BSOD. Maybe it is not a driver problem. Something in Windows (ports or something) that must turn off. Any suggestions?

hello i had setup up epgu with the exp gdc ngff version with gtx 1060 3gb.So everytime i try to boot up my laptop wouldnt boot up but the gpu psu fan would be spinning for a few seconds but they would stop and i would get these annyoying beep sounds.Can you help me fix this error and btw my laptop is dell inspiron 14 5442.Thank you

@@FermiGBM1 hi it worked but it encountered a severe bottleneck on the cpu since it is a 6th gen cpu. I have finally surrendered and billing a gaming right with remaining parts.

Geflunk internal display. I am forced to use an external display attached directly to the graphic card to fix the problem
i know i read somewhere that you can flash the BIOS to enable the primary display setting from auto to "enabled" to resolve the issue. But flashing your ROM has some risks which might brick your system.
