Please get your facts right. The Axle deadlift world record at 360kg is held by Rauno Heinla with 9 reps. He did it in one of your own competitions.
Yeah, it was at 2021 Europes.

Might be rusty, but didn't Rauno Heinla do 9 reps with an 800lb axle at the 2021 ESM?
It was 794 (360 in kilograms) and that is the actual world record for this event.

3:00 I'd though Mooper was close to 6ft, not quite 6ft 4in.
He is like 6’2.5
closer to 6'2" probably. I got a picture with him and I'm 5'10", he was at least a few inches taller.
Guess since it's such a spectacle over there hence the term "giants live" they over-exaggerate kinda like how they did for wrestlers to draw more attention... Definitely not needed nor necessary though!
I'm 6'2" and he's a bit taller than me, so he's around 6'3"

What's purpose of axle with straps
Being able to pick up anything over 200kg
....and Mitch beat Tom in the first 4 of 5 events to take a commanding lead.....so good to see after his hand injury that cost him the Worlds Strongest Man title this year!
He still came in second at WSM even with torn hands which in my mind is almost as impressive as a win.

I'm curious why Hooper didn't go for a 9th rep? He definitely had one in the tank -- was the axle press after this, i.e. he was saving his energy?
i think he talked about it in one of his videos. that people often say he could have done more reps. But he said that winning is his priority while sustaining health as good as he can in this sport.
He always considers the risk factor of injury going all out as well as saving energy for later events. What you have to consider is that the weights these guys move put so much stress not only on your body, but also on your nervous system. It takes 2-3 weeks to fully recover from such a show even without injury. If you have many shows lined up, you better dont go all out even if you can. As you can see it works for Hooper very well - even though he is one of the top, if not the number one Strongman regarding recovery and endurance.
Yeah, Pretty much what the others have said. Risk vs Reward. With the rest of the competition to go and Strongest Man On Earth in a month, wasn't worth it.
He’d already won the event and had no interest in breaking the record if he didn’t need to
This was only the second event with several back heavy events to follow. So didn't want to risk it with unnecessary reps.
I think tom stoltman, the same as novikov their best deadlift is when they put tires on the bar, novikov has the WR on the hummer tires and tom won last year max deadlift at SMOE and he won i think the deadlift event at the 2024 WSM finals.

Bill Kazmaier sure has talent on the Mike. He will be missed when that day comes. Bill Kazmaier was the to me the best of the best, he was to dominant and not invited to WSM for a few years, otherwise he prolly would of had 6 titles.

I think the counter on this video was like Mitch's counter during the event, as the dislike number as gone down by 60% or more. As for people saying he is arrogance, they probably would have hated Jordan or Tiger in their prime for their confidence. Knowing what you can do and then doing it isn't arrogance.
Loz should always be *the* commentator for these events.

I dont think Hooper is beatable when he is healthy....that guy apparently has superior training methods to anyone else. Yes he is over the top confident to the point of arrogance..but he simply has the win rate to back that actually up

Robert Oberst was arrogant, continually saying he would re-break the log record, doing it in the gym, then never getting close in a comp.
Hooper is just stating it like it is, being realistic. No arrogance when you can actually do what you claim.
His intelligence when it comes to training and his consistency along with his adaptability are what makes him seemingly unbeatable.
