It is a little late for this suggestion, but I would have drilled 2 holes in the case so that I could access those 2 screws on the back of the MB that hold the heat sink on. I would be quite upset with the MB manufacturer.
I would just remove that heat sink and use an aftermarket one instead. The Sabrent heat sink attaches to the nvme card itself. One screw to put it on or off.
Interesting, Asrock and Adata are two makes I have always steered clear of due to them not having any kind of reputation (good or bad) I was aware of.
Mine gets to the title screen with the big writing that says Asus and the little writing at the bottom that sais press del or F2 to open bios and then after a second the screen goes black the keyboard and mouse shut of but the pc stays on then the keyboard and mouse light up and screen shows the same thing and then repeats it over and over and I don't know what to do
Update I had to change from window 11 to 10 and it works fine
i had the same issue but my pc is windows 10 so what do i do?
Mine keep loading into bios then I have to press windows n I get in but idk how to get it to go straight to windows
@@RedSerenity_ what I did was go to the place where I got the pc for me was cex and they'll sort it out but if u built it Ur self or ordered it online I'm not sure
I'm having a similar issue as well, my laptop is also Asus. Is this a common problem among these laptops?
Having to uninstall the mobo, to remove an nvme ssd, just blows my mind. I'll keep this in mind, if ever I consider an Asrock mobo. Re Adata, I bought a 500G nvme, on Cary Holzman's advice, a8 months ago. Not a hint of a problem. If I recollect, you and he, don't see eye to eye. I'm subbed to both.
I think I would replace the NVME heat sink with some thing like the Sabrent heat sink. Much easier to swap the drives put.
So I brought a new pc but goes straight to bios and I’ve tried resetting it and everything but nothings worked
Greetings from Austin, Texas~!...Perfect timing for your video. I needed a Windows 11 Home edition OEM activation key and your link to CDKeySales and discount code worked perfectly! Thanks a lot. Ciao' (Sorry about the drive...)
Weird, that you'd have to get a new MS license after a hardware upgrade! I have upgraded in the past, where EVERYTHING was changed, apart from the HDD's and the NVME drive. I just contacted MS Support, and one of their guys saw me through the process of re-activation of Win10, based upon the original Win7 and Win8 licences (yeah, I have a dual boot PC).
Also, I NEVER see the Dutch flag on those Windows license sites: how would I buy a new Windows license from those sites? Or are the Dutch banned from that opportunity?
I've got that motherboard and i didn't need to take the screws on the back to take out the heatsink, maybe it's a different revision.
I have a boot to bios problem where the PC reports a boot failure. If I then enter bios and save & reboot without changing anything the PC boots normally. Everything in the bios looks normal, all ssd's recognised etc. I also ran crystaldiskinfo and that reports that the ssd's are good. I still favour the M.2 C drive as the culprit but disk manager etc. all say it's fine.
Several years ago I had an adata sd card in a Lenovo tablet fail. A $7 card under warranty and they refused to replace it. I will never use an adata product after that.
I've had a bios issue in last couple of days. I have a gigabyte ab-350 gaming 3 board and put on a 970 evo plus in it and at first, after cloning the previous sata ssd, it booted really fast. Then the pc was taking forever to boot up (everything was fine except the boot- roughly taking 7-10 minutes to boot into windows). I did not find any solution to that after searching everywhere. Lastly formatted the drive and reinstalled windows. And that was also not easy. had to disable csm and tpm from bios and boot from the nvme drive but every now and then bios got reset. finally disabling fast boot to normal may have solved the issue. If you can shed any light on this and help me turning fast boot on without hay-wiring everything will be highly appreciated. Thanks.
I once had an SSD bow out after having activated it less than a half-dozen times (it was an old Inland model); which led me to believe that, if you do backups, use a standard hard drive. The better the chance that you'll retain the backup if your next SSD dies; and if the hard drive dies, the data is likely to be easier to recover, even though it could cost a big penny depending on where you go or what recovery hardware/software you have.
@ 11:08 According to the asrock b550m steel legend user manual you only have to take off the two screws at the top in order to remove the M.2 heat sink! You DO NOT have to unscrew anything from underneath the motherboard!
Going the cheapo route is usually more costly in the end.
Bad scene man. Glad I haven’t experienced this trip yet. Cheers Bri 👋
Whenever I power my pc on it goes straight to bios but the ssd and nvme are being recognised and the ssd has windows on it but it still boots to bios what do i do?
Do you lose any data nor files when you save changes & reset?
Help i was restarting my pc and it took like 30 minutes and i decided to turn it off and now whenever i turn it on it goes to the bios but nothing happens if i press the bios shortcuts on my keyboard
I get the same headline problem but despite exercising all the instructions I can't get out from the trouble.... pls help me.
Not sure you will see this comment but I am having the same problem with an Adata Mvme, up graded to a new chip flashed the bios will only boot to bios now its an MSI board thats shows the drive and from bios I can run a test on the drive says no errors, could it still be bad? (going to order a mvme external enclose to test it on another of my pc's) I have been building my own Pc's for over 20 yrs now and never come across this problem before!
Mine reads the ssd, but every time I restart or turn off the computer it boots into bios and not windows. If I click on the os under boot, then the computer boots windows and it’s fine. Idk what’s going on.
i think it’s a hard drive or ssd issue for me. put a new gpu in, psu, and cpu cooler, and i can’t get off bios. wasn’t doing it before but it is now, will give this a go though!
Good video! Forgot to plug the other side of the Sata cable’s lmao
Pretty awesome
Thank you for the video
Hello what if it says enabled and yet it doent boot up to windows…. I was watching some youtube vids in my pc and yet it shutdowns and turn on and go directly to BIOS
I had the exact same failure to from the bios to the drive partition size being misreported. It did also run very hot which I think was the reason for the failure. It was made by Kuesuny which also makes adata I believe. I have good luck with either Crucial or Western Digital. good luck.
This is the same problem but mine is a all in one PC will this work with all in one pc's too?
My pc started booting into bios setup after hibernating, but, my hdd was detected and all I have to do is discard changes & exit then it boots into windows. It just started doing this. I heard you say it could be the battery, so after disabling hibernation, I guess I should've just thought of that lol...oh well. Live & learn. 🎉
Surprising failure indeed. Hope it was still under warranty.
My Samsung Evo Nvme was reconised until I installed windows then it was not detected. No windows software could detect and fix it. Used Gparted on Linux PC to format it then tried again with same result. Formated it again then installed windows on it in an older PC. Put it back into my new PC and it worked.
Trial and error has tought me that as far as SSD goes, cheap is expensive..Buy sth nice or buy it twice..
Sir is any solution for i updated cracked windows os.problem is when on pc it stucks in moniter logo name.Sir plz tell me the solution.
The Moral Of Story is Keep BackUp Of Your Data Otherwise You Lost it Everything !
Great video, just need it a week ago! Had a boot SSD fail and had to replace it as it would not recognise and booted to the BIOS, seems to be a common experience these days.
You're welcome!
does that mean my entire drive is gone??
Wait I replaced my mb but I putted all the drives do I still have to get whatever that think is?
My bios download came with a zip with other files in it not sure if my bios update setup is different
Anyone having a problem where they boot their pc and the screen that says “asus press del or f2 to open bios settings pops up” and than it just does that over and over again for eternity?
Still stuck on bios I keep restarting watched every single RUclips video my pc is not working I have opened it up checked inside it still doesn’t work so I don’t know what to do
I think my SSD might be failing. My PC is just over 2 years old. Last 2/3 days my PC got stuck in bios. Now when I powered it off fully and on again, the 2nd attempt worked fine. However I don't get why it started. It just doesn't seem to even try to boot windows and seems like the SSD isn't being detected. First time with an SSD, when I had HDD I never had a HD failure
It's sad you had all this trouble on a new build.
Newly built pc working completely fine outside of boot up, asus z790 motherboard. start up always says its starting on safe mode and ends up on bios with me having to boot windows up manually through the boot section in bios. bios related stuff is very confusing. shame not many videos are able to resolve this.
I found that i needed to go to boot menu (Asus) and select the right disk you use and that it has primary windows installed
Yes i have done RMA processes in the end if i knew the thing i had to return was deffo bust i just used to tell them i had done the tests to get the number
I attempted to leave a comment before, so forgive me if it's up twice. I've never bought an ADATA SSD, but i've seen several of their SATA SSDs fail over the years. Their flash drives aren't very reliable either. I bought several of their UV128 flash drives (reasonably priced with "lifetime warranty") and about half of them have failed. ADATA RMA replaced a couple of them, but their website will no longer accept the serial numbers, so "lifetime warranty" no longer applies. Suffice it to say, stay away from ADATA. Samsung EVO series are my go to drives, but I've had good luck with SK Hynix, Crucial, and Western Digital.
had a few fail on me now
My laptop wakes up from sleep directly into BIOS setup, and when I exit BIOS my laptop asks me for the password - then everything goes fine. This is the second time it happened in the last few months. The laptop went into Windows 10 without problem. The BIOS can be entered without password, but Windows need password. I am concerned someone may have tampered with my laptop during my absece. Could that be a possibility?
Hi, any help would be appreciated,
After recent feature update on windows version 20h2 , I got a bug , which keeps the right arrow key pressing automatically, untill I press any other key , but when I click that arrow key it again starts doing that. I m pretty sure its software issue not hardware , any troubleshooting tips would be great, for now I am using ms power toys by disabling the right arrow key. Thanks nice video,
How about going back to your previous version of windows? if you have a restore point, just restore it. Hope it works.
Yea, that's my experience with SSD's too.. when they fail.. they're gone 😕 .. best backup to a mechanical one..( Aand a LOL to that motherboard 😂)
yeah, backup, backup, backup
@@Britec09 Hi, what if my pc enter bios not very often? Once every 5 times I turn it on.
I built my first pc and it turns on and everything shows it’s there but all it does is bring me to the bios without even pressing delete key I’ve never even been out of the bios even if I save and exit it brings me right back
Did you find out the issue I’m now having this after installing my new ram I can’t figure out what’s wrong with it
Just installed new ryzen 9 5900x and a pceaxe59bt WiFi and Bluetooth card and when my pc boots to bios and when I press ext and yes to leave it stays on bios doesn't take me out amcan anyone help please
great no and educational video, my conclusion: stay away from cheap stuff, and stay away from AMD . thank god i bought intel, 2 tb nvme😋
Super easy NVME swap made maddeningly difficult, I'm certain it would discourage the average user from replacing it, not a good look Asrock.
Totally agree
Whoever designed that heatsink arrangement needs to go back to design school, I could handle the chipset heatsink being mounted thru the board, but a replaceable item like the NVME drive...what were they thinking (sorry they didn't think !).
Happened for the first time for me a couple of days ago but not since. 6 year old HD drive could be the problem?
check it
If you made folders it may not work just have all the files on the drive as is dont make a folder this was my issue
I was playing a game going about my business when out of nowhere my computer hard crashed, monitors wouldnt show what I was doing and the comp was still on…. I had to force shut it down and now it loads bios 100% of the time and I cant get out of it. Whenever I exist bios it just relaunches it instantly. Over and over again, What do I do?? Because this is rediculous
The same thing happen to me this morning still can’t get out of bios👎👎
I rarely have problems with Asus and Samsung brand. It's been so.long I had blue screen errors. Never used asrock or adata.
Just built new pc, same thing happening now only I reset mobo to default because of mobo fan settings, now constant bios loop, any ideas pls.
I know it can be frustrating. But it's a process of elimination to find out what is causing the problem
Great video wow what a nightmare! Yes no more Adata drives for me and can't go wrong with Msi or Asus Motherboards. Hearing bad things about Adata and ASRock boards failing like crazy!
I like MSI
Asus boards and Samsung SSDs. Can’t go wrong with those.
My ASRock mobo from over 10 years ago is still rocking fine...your mileage may vary.
@@mattsnider5704 That's what I have. Hope you're right!!
I’ve built nearly 50 PCs in the last four years out of Asus motherboards (Prime B350, X370, B450, X470, B550 and X570) and used nothing but Samsung 960, 970 and 980 NVME SSDs (Pro and standard versions). Not a single board or SSD failure.
Hello Britec09. I watched a few of your videos recently and stumbled across this one. I have had this issue for 4 years now. Never fixed it, I just stopped gaming. But I’m trying to fix it again. My pc only boots to the bios and it is saying my m.2 NVME ssd is empty or not recognized. (My pc used to work) one day it shut down and have had this problem ever since
I have an M.2 NVME SSD as my main drive. I have Casper doing automated backups to a SATA SSD just in case it lets go. The worst I will lose is a days data.
I avoid Adata like the plague ever since some USB flash drives went bad on me.
I also avoid Oloy branded RAM since I had a stick fail. They replaced it but it took a long time (a couple of months!).
Both of the above mentioned brands have products that are relatively inexpensive, which is what makes them tempting, but they're not worth it in my experience.
You know the saying: You get what you pay for!
you may want to stay away from ADATA. Western Digital or Samsung are the best that I used.
I am done with Adata
Adata is junk, I used Samsungs
Please help. My pc doesn't go past the bios.
When I turn it on it boots to the bios. But after the windows dots stop spinning the screen goes black. I'm a bit lost because I've tried everything I know might help. If someone could help me I would really appreciate it
How you solved?
Have you solved?
@@slicklikeapro__7278 still have same issue now
Asrock boards have also been pretty bad in the last few years. Having to pull the board out just to get at the Nvme drive is a disgrace, and I'm being polite 🙂. And why the need to purchase a new Windows key??? You're just replacing the drive, not the motherboard?!?!
You get a lot for your money, but what a nightmare
Wow about 12 minutes in you csn tell thh tone of the video changes. Sorry that drive stopped working think im having similar issue. Doesn't go past bios. But it did run windows at a friends house just before. Aluminum
Everything on my computer was working fine and then I noticed my delete key was pushed down 😂
This saved me a lot of time 🤦🏿♂️. I feel so dumb, thank you so much lol
Have you had problems with cdkeysales,?
thanks for the video if im ever going to buy a drive i will avoid a-data
Understandable
Ok i saved one today guys, i think the key is holding down power button for 8 seconds with the power cable unplugged. Then insert power cable and turn back on the laptop and press delete alot to het back into bios. At this point have only your windows operating system drive on. No other external ssd or hdd connected. And when fhe bios hits go to boot menu options and change the primary drive to the one carrying windows. Then save and exit and reboot. 😮
I tried everything, i thought my pc was dead, until i unplugged my joystick and my wifi adapter, after this i turned it on and somehow my pc started working normally again.
That is why IT support will tell you to unplug all peripherals apart from your mouse and keyboard
i would never use water cooling again ever not since one i had the pipes leaked and distroyed my machine
Mines go to bios, then starts normally a few seconds later..... good enough for me lol
We would like to see the screen no the cpu lightning
I have no programs or anything installed 😢
TYSM, LOVE ur pc btw
Glad you like it!
Mine completely recognizes my drive, but still decides to not work
Found out my SSD wasn’t connected to power oops. Rookie mistake
My pc got thrown by the delivery guy, so I'm stuck in bios.
But I get a free new one!
Free replacement parts
had me until i have to buy something fuck that💀
mine fixed by changing to ccx or something like that
maybe the drive has shorted circuit, maybe the drive could be fixable
ADATA sucks. I've bought 9 Samsung 980 PRO M.2 drives and never had a problem with any of them. I also have two of my M. 2 drives in RAID 1 so if one does die, I won't lose my data.
ADATA has let me down a few times now, won't buy no more
And I can Barely get into mine. Frustrating.
I just woke up got on my pc and it won’t sork
Yo to Anyone having this problem I’m telling you taking all usb/speaker keyboard or mouse devices fixed my problem cuh
Nice video bro 👌👌👌
Thank you so much 😀
So how the F do you buy keys if your computer is stuck in Bios? Doh!
So this video is about a faulty ssd, should be called what to do when you have a faulty ssd.🤔
he has already covered that
Just as maybe something to forego a drastic failure on your boot drive is create an image. I use Macrium Reflect to create images of my operating disk OS. So if I do have a fail on the drive, I can recover something from the image. It has saved me many times. As for ASrock. Not the best you could have gotten, and I also have had problems with AData drives, overheating and such.
This happened to me after I used secure erase on both of my only ssd cards
None of these worked plzzz help
urgh.... so just replace the ssd is the fix. that doesnt help me.
Hey you computer techie geeks need some wisdom before you condemn an good product manufacturer Adata...I mean you don't really belive they would unleash faulty merchandise that could do an lot more damage than just your inconvienances?...I am an engineer that's seen more broken parts than you've had hot dinners and beleive me there's an good reason those new parts you buy fail..Firstly being new there under warranty and that can sometimes mean they don't need as much scrutiny when leaving the factory as an replacement part for let's say an brand new machine that incorporates the very same parts your buying for your home build techie geek projects...In my business it's important to understand why an part fails if you can't afford failure and if it's an quality issue then that's probably because you have an warranty...Also it's just as important to understand the manufacturing process I mean are you techie geeks really the intended market for these parts or an million drives leaving the Adata loading bay destined for an million machines that aren't even computers and will never run on Windows?. ..C'mon guys let's not just bad mouth the manufacture but let's try and find out the reason the brand new parts are prone to failure...After all that's how you really solve failure!!
Cant see mate
lol,Asroc the worst motherboards ever, why would you build a system with that junk ?
is it that bad? my first computer had asrock
Mine is msi
Mate I would of send the motherboard BACK... Get a refund mate LOL
👍👍
ALUMINUM ! LOL
