If someone has a shield in their hands in PvP, and it isn't a Greatshield, they're _going_ to try and parry you, 100% of the time. The sooner the newbie gets that instinct pounded into his mind, the better his life is going to be.

@@EldenBong Parrying with weapons is a massive flex, especially curved swords. The parry frames are objectively the worst in the game, and you can't even block. It's a big power move for asserting dominance, if you can actually land them.

I'm doing a taunters playthrough and I'm acting like I have no idea how to play the game. Honestly a good portion 50% or so of the invaders are pretty chill, very few of them outright tried to murder me which was cool

Griefing is rampant if they can't beat me they run away and they lurk for hours just to be a nuisance. They refuse to fight at all preferring to run away and throw sh"t or shoot arrows. My friend and I are Souls veterans we've played since Demons' Souls, we always loved invading. The community used to be much more wholesome and even some of the more 'toxic' elements were done in jest. Build like Giant Dad it was a character and a meme. He was meant to be a douche. Now they act like 2v2 is unfair, they refuse to engage at all only choosing to engage on their terms and even then they run away when they don't like how a fight is going and use crafting to infinitely hand around. They almost exclusively use the most meta a passive sh"t imaginable even when we're clearly rocking joke builds. They won't gesture, they won't chill out, and when they really can't win they either toggle cheats or use the pizza cutter glitch. The PvE players aren't competitive, logically why would they be more toxic that the invaders? What's that ar"eholes name, Jeenine or something? They're all essentially trying to be him. People like Lost and Chase are rare.
Chase is the most wholesome guy even when he absolutely STOMPS an enemy team he’s like “they had great blender potential!” (spoken amongst their corpses)
It also works really well with Lifesteal Fist. Sadly the Lifesteal Fist hitbox is on you actual fist and doesn't matter with the weapon, although it still has very good AR and 110 crit multiplier. Just make sure to use it with the Royal Magic Grease instead of Dragonbolt and you'll be set. And always set on standard

Mogh/morgott shackle can help you chase people down, the phantom hit puts them into combat so their Stam is getting drained while running away, if you have more endurance or better movement than you can catch up

I thought the Pata were really cool when I found them, but I never actually invested into trying them for some reason, and seeing them in action, I'm severely questioning my judgement back then. I think I have to go experimenting with Pata builds after this.
HOPE YOU SEE THIS!!! I believe they changed the lock on In Elden to be more dependent on the center of your camera for more “accurate targeting”. Instead of the old method where it could’ve been be dependent on range. The way you play requires a lot of mental spacing and awareness so you don’t have to look at the enemies directly (and very often don’t especially when spacing between multiple enemies). Which makes targeting enemies harder because you would have to look much further left than you might want to to actually target onto a player that is close left when you’re looking at the teammate far right. 16:49 Isn’t the best example because of how you were locked onto the person on the right first, but when you switch locks, the other guy could’ve been closer, but your center screen was still closer to the one on the right. I hope this helps you in future invasions!!!!
There is another benifit to going with a strength build fists and claws do get the two handing strength bonus despite it not appearing in your ar you can see it if you test damage against an enemy
The Pata also has a secret boost in that it looks sick as hell using Drawstring Greases with it. Its like the friction of the blades sliding together creats the lightning buff
I'm fairly certain the lock-on will always target whoever is closest to the center of your camera. As far as I've seen, you have a tendency not to face opponents until you're actually thinking about attacking them. That's why when you do those sudden turn-arounds, your camera will sometimes be facing the mage off in the distance and not the guy in your face. So at 16:58, you targeted the host because your camera was pointing at them. It could also be wherever your character is facing, but same idea in the end. Hopefully this helps (I just know I've heard you remark on it a few times and felt like throwing in my best explanation.)
