nice version, but the ULTIMATE version, the one that is and remain and will always remain the all time greatest version is the one by the Dells with Marvin Junior and Johnny Carter singing lead. Marvin Junior does his "long note" (that's what he calls it) and in this version it is an amazing 23 seconds that he holds that long note, on key i might add. The Mighty, Mighty Dells have done this song to perfection.

I respect your opinion but The Dells with Marvin Junior on lead cannot be touched. His powerful rough baritone with Johnny Funches on tenor with that unique strong tenor cannot be touched especially with the rest of The Dells harmony on background. However, Patti did do the song justice.
