      @@charkswitlazers agree to disagree, Indian Chief dark horse is the most beautiful and manly machine ever mass produced on this planet. Too bad I have never had the opportunity to ride it yet. I did own a scout for one summer and it is extremely easy bike to ride.
      I also tried my friends fat bob, and that couldn't handle turns at all, it felt like the front wheel doesn't have control, I have never before been scared to ride a motorcycle, but that one was just terrifying to turn with. On top of that I could still feel the shaking of the engine 2 hours after the 30 minutes ride. It's worse than on a road roller (yes, I have operated/driven them also) and shaking is it's purpose. Only Harley related bike I like is Buell, I had the XB12S for a while also, that was amazing bike.

      @@charkswitlazershow many bikes did Harley copy ???
      I can easily make the argument that Harley copied BMW with its fairing, or even Honda.
      So let's see all the things that Harley copied from others.
      GPS, cruise control, anti-locking brakes, traction control, alarm systems, OneTouch locking saddlebags, lean intuitive headlights, linked braking, liquid-cooled motor, automatic valve lash adjustment, and much much more.
      But wait a minute, some of that stuff Harley has not even gotten around to copying yet but they will.
      People like you crack me up😅🤣😂 you somehow think of Harley's got it then it must have been copied off of Harley😅🤣😂🤣😅

    One shock in the rear is superior to 2 shocks, if there is any discrepancy between the shocks in the back - you'll have a rear wheel death wobble, which overemphasizes the importance of spreading weight evenly in side cases. With Harley softail you don't have that issue. Harley dyna has 2 shocks in rear, you can see videos of death wobble, it doesn't look pretty.

    • @tommylitchfield3450
      @tommylitchfield3450 Год назад +7

      The "Death Wobble" on the Dyna vs Softtail isn't about 1 vs 2 shocks. It is because the Dyna is(was) rubber mounted without stabilizer bars, while, strangely, the rubber mounted Sportsters have the stabilizers. The Softtail has a rigid mounted engine and balance shafts, so no rubber mounts where the engine mounts to the frame and swing-arm, therefore nothing to "wobble"..

    The Heritage and the Super Chief are about the same price. The Heritage 114 has more hp. and is a little lighter with a lower seat height. The old saying is, if you don't turn around and look at your bike after parking it, then you bought the wrong bike. I have a need to just go out in the garage and just look at my Heritage. To each their own. I had GPS on my 2017 Street Glide Special and it wasn't worth a crap. You should check to see if that GPS might need flashed for an up date every so often.

Seems cruiser,Harley riders specifically, need a dealer every 20 mins. Sport bike, retro, adventure touring guys have no problem with a smaller dealer network. Also dealer support will take longer to build if people just continue to stick with the same brand that gives you crumbs for a higher price.

    Oh, Man. For years I've thought that I was in the center of the target market for Indian Motorcycles. Old enough to remember some of the original Indians as old bikes still in use, and loved them. But if the Indian brand now means a rolling computer system, having menus within menus within menus, and more wiring than a modern fighter jet, et al, disguised as a motorcycle, then surely I'm way out near the fringe of that market. A generation from now, some new and radical team of innovative motorcycle designers are going to make a very basic, analog bike, and, being such a novel, attractive, enjoyable and affordable option it will sell like hotcakes. Until then, I understand that it's a race to see who can overcomplicate the definition of "motorcycle" to the point where no one wants one, or can afford one.

    Harleys heritage has an easy turn knob for rear shock adjustment. This bike does not have that.

    INDIAN WINS IN TECH

  • @billreynolds2221
    @billreynolds2221 Год назад +1

    The HD Heritage is a more refined motorcycle. It has a more tractable engine and without doubt a more compliant ride. I own a 2018 Heritage and have ridden the Indian on 3 occasions. I couldn’t get back on my bike fast enough. The Indian is one sharp bike but lacks the Harley’s rideability and poise. It should when you think about it. They’ve been working on bikes like the Heritage for over 110 years.

    Motorcycle companies these days targeting officehipsters and people with to much money on their account. Motorcycles ridiculously overpriced stuffed with gadgets for paper-pushers and bureaucrats. For me its about an engine,a throttle, the wind in my face and on something i can afford, first and foremost. Other than that,nice rewiew.

    I own one and the GPS is a real piece of garbage. It is not reliable. rarely or never recalculate the itinerary and always trying to go on the highways. This the biggest complaint about this bike. All the rest is great !!!

    • @dreambrew

      Since it pairs with your phone, I would just use my phones gps which is very reliable. Navigation is the least of my worries on this system and it does so much more.

    Please, you are all about informing people, so:
    What you are describing is POWER at lower RPMs... Torque (at the wheel) is gear dependant, power is not.
    Saying what you want is Torque is meaningless.
    So, what you are referring as desirable is a nice POWER CURVE (or power band), where POWER comes in early and sustained for a big range of RPM.

    • @tommylitchfield3450
      @tommylitchfield3450 Год назад +1

      When you are saying "power" vs torque, that is misleading. A dyno does not measure horsepower. It measures torque. Torque IS power. Horsepower is a mathematical number using torque, RPMs and a mathematically known variable. You FEEL torque. You COMPUTE horsepower.

    I'm sorry, but your reasons for buying that bike over another were silly.
    -Ride modes are not necessary at all. My bike has them and I never change them; no need. You need modes to control the bike differently? Really?
    -Built-in GPS! So what? I have a phone mount, and GPS on a phone is set and forget.
    -Rain on your phone? Rainproof cases.
    -Phone being distracting? What? It's no more distracting than looking at the GPS on your bike.
    -USB charging? Most bikes have that built-in; if not, have a USB port put on your bike.
    Maybe it's because you haven't been riding long--and you haven't, comparably--that you find these modern trivialities so important, but they're not.
    Before anyone says anything, I don't own an Indian or a Harley, so I don't have a dog in this fight; I own a Triumph. Just my opinion on your judging criteria.

    • @nabiha37
      @nabiha37 Год назад

      Well, our taste in bikes just like our taste in women. We all have different taste and needs. The lucky ones who can have more options and choices. If I only have one choice, definitely will be a Harley Road King. Has the classic looks, the bags and the comfy frame, plus you can add few mods to suit you. Indian Chief definitely a good choice as well. Age, strength, height and weight of a rider plays a part of your choice. Let’s get the biggest and the heaviest the fastest while we are healthy to ride.
