Build a Cable-Cam to achieve awesome cinematic camera angles like fly-thru and overhead shots. The Cable-Cam is like a camera dolly, but instead of being on a track, the camera is in the air on cables or rope, so you can shoot above the action. I'll show you how to capture these tough angles like the pros for under $30.
Parts List:
1 3/8" x 2' threaded rod
1 3/8" x 75' rope
2 2" utility pulleys for 3/8" rope
2 3/8" lock nuts
2 3/8" washers
3 1/2" x 6" PVC risers
1 1/2" x 4" PVC riser
1 1/2" PVC 90 deg. elbow
1 1/2" PVC Tee

this by far is the simplest and best design that works... thanks
drill a hole the size of your cable in a small block of wood and install on your cable just before the end to make a soft brake before the camera hits the end of the cable
Nice one I don't have a go pro I use the 5th gen iPod touch but well done a great project.

Cool video
Really cool man!!!!! Did you see my setup?
Would it make sense to leave the pulleys a bit loose to make the camera movements less rigid?
Did you wear proper safety equipment (i.e. while you were grinding the rod)?
how much did the whole thing cost
how much did all this piping, fittings and pulleys etc cost?
@ 05:09 , no u don't just turn it up right.
Where'd you get those pulleys from?
Home Depot
It's not that steady.
