Hi from cumbria...Well dale you've cracked it for me my playground known to us as beckbottom... (always busy on summer weekends) born on the farm above trees behind you . not far from hillend hamlet. ..early in vid ....then we farmed further up valley the quarry was a fave spot for playing as kids... the chalets and caravans were favourite for people from sunderland and Newcastle etc back in the day....thanks for this brill👏👏👏👍
Aww lovely film Dale, great to get the kids out regardless of how old they are. I remember taking our girls hiking for the first time when they were just two years old, they’re 15 & 16 now as you know but they still love the mountains. 😊
Great video, Dale. I love your presenting style! Your videos are really interesting and full of cool tips to try. The views were amazing, I've never been to hill end. Bobby is so sweet! You can get that pram anywhere, that takes some skill! Hope Rosie is doing well, looking forward to seeing her in future videos.
Great vid Dale, that is a truly beautiful place... I missed this yesterday, so thought, "I gotta watch another video-Tday....!"😄 The mounds/hills, they were actually quite a size & looked abit like a giant Tele Tubbie Land, so I was half expecting that freaky sunshine baby thing to pop up...!😯😂 Very knowledgeable & informative, plus great entertainment... Ya gotta get ya Mum to stick some snaps up of U 2 crossing the river...✔️💯 But the buggy demo going through that rocky puddle was very funny...!🤣 Did U swap to a Doll at that point, cause was very bouncy & I was laughing so hard that couldn't focus properly...!😂 Best wishes...👊
it's a nice place there, i normally cycle there from hamsterley forest / elephant trees and back over to wolsingham (by crossing over the bridge @ 14:36) - you continue to a road that takes you towards white kirkley - and you can continue up towards the elephant trees that way on the small road, or back track down towards frosterley then along to wolsingham (i do by bike, but there is a footpath over the white kirkley road you can do - but never done that myself..) hill end must hold a lot of memories from the city folk as there's always cars parked up and in the summer there's hundreds of people there...luckily they all go there and not to some of the true hidden gems in the area.. :) 17:26 - not sure there's a real way through back as I've though about going that way on my bike but never risked it as i think you have to go through that farm..
Always nice to hear people's stories. Wonderful place to be around growing up. Glad you liked it. Thanks for watching.

Excellent to hear about someone who has lived in the area. What a beautiful place to be brought up.

Start the young enough to realize why people like these places so much. My mam used to take me out at a young age.
Born & raised in Weardale but spent most of my life here in Canada, recognized that area straight away as Bollihope bottom.
Must of brought memories back to you I hope.

I didnt think at the time to be honest about Bobby bouncing around, it doesn't help that i cant see the front.

Thanks for your comment very interesting as usual.
Do you have a postcode for the car park please? I get a bit anxious about car parking. Silly I know. Thank you!
I dont sorry.
im suprised there are no grey herons there thay love small frogs but i guess its human activity keeping them away.
That would of been interesting to see. I agree with you maybe too many people for other wildlife to hang around.
