The Tellaro 20AT looks like a legit contender...Roomier master bed & garage area, a more private and roomier guest sleep area for 2 normal size adults, stronger electrical, bigger TV, and squeezed a bit more storage space. But some build finishing issues forces the question of quality control which you pointed out. Did they increase Water Tanks?
Much to love about the Tellaro. I need to learn more. They don’t offer Volta, which trumps their 3rd party installed lithium option. But very attracted color scheme and floor plan.
I agree with your comment on pricing. I was just at the RV show in Tacoma and just shook my head as you would walk around and see MSRP and show prices 20-35% less. At least with used cars there are reliable pricing guides to help you.
THANK YOU. finally a good video going through and showing all the drawers and spaces and giving perspective on size. Love it... but what’s up with that “wardrobe “??? Lol doesn’t look like a normal hanger fits in there.
You wondered about that water inlet - the one with the lid that fell on the ground. I watched a factory video and it’s made for filling manually when you’re not close to a water source. You could heft a jerry can or jug full of water and pour it into the water tank.
Scott, It was great meeting you, Terry and Mike at the Embassy RV meet-up. Thanks for the thorough review of the Tellaro and comparison with the Travato. No bathroom vent because there's a bed above it. No roof vent either , unless it's where you climb up to the bed. Nice quality build. Thanks for your video.
Good point on the bathroom vent. I did notice in editing that there was a vent in the side of the vehicle next to a water port. I wonder if the vent switch I activated draws from the floor area to the outside through that vent? More research needed.
@@gosmall.livelarge I was only explaining the absence of ceiling vents. I was very happy to see the vent fan ,you found. I actually left Thor because of build quality. Design is not their problem....construction is. Everything was flimsy, cheap, superficial.....more light towable than quality rv. It drove beautifully, but the seat was terrible once you actually had to sit there for a long time, road noise very loud, windows hard to slide, and for me -- water fall inside during a rain storm. @@gosmall.livelarge I have been contemplating seriously downsizing for a few years now. Initially, I was stuck on the tiny house movement, until my home that I put up for sale was literally stolen from me 3 days before closing. Its a long story; but I have been living in a hotel since last March. Not only has this taught me to do more with less, but to never put myself in a position for this to happen again. I want the road and the ability to go where I want to go. I will retire in 5 years, even though I would like to do it sooner, I think once I retire I will be able to go Van life full time. I am not a handyman, so I will have to get a rig that it ready to go and provides the essential comforts I need to maintain the lifestyle. Thanks for the question.
Some are lithium equipped, but Volta's Pure3 is better IMO. Automotive grade, better chemistry, one manufacturer for the entire system end to end, etc. But do your homework and come fo your conclusion. All this vans looks amazing, but Only looks, I think there is more pain than joy, very very small , think about when it's raining, man just a pain if there is more than one person
Thanks for reviewing the Tellaro. I have been wondering how much the pop top option would be . I really like the versatility of the floor plan. I was hoping it would be in the 5 or 6000 dollar range . A bit disappointed in the 13,000 dollar price tag. I’d like to stay around 80,000 total like a sequence. Will have to give it some thought. Maybe they’ll all come down a bit with more competition in the market.
Not many places to watch TV in a Class B RV apparently. However, Embassy RV managed to get a massive TV to drop down from the ceiling just behind the cab "bulkhead". If you haven't see that approach give the vid a look. ruclips.net/video/ANIdo7oeJ9Q/видео.html
@@gosmall.livelarge Yes. Why not have the TV over the side door and fold down for viewing. At least 3 could watch. I don't know. I haven't spent much time in the 59g.
Cassette is for human waste. Probably 5 gallons but can be dumped into toilets or dump station . The grey tank is just for shower and sink water . Grey and black tanks will need to be dumped into a dump station . I dump the grey tank on my lawn at home . In our case it's just soapy water because we use a wiping system to get grease and food particles off our utensiles . I empty our black tank into our sewer clean out at home using the same line as the house to sewer connection.
Lol I knew that. I was confused when Scott said the grayhose, my mind was thinking black tank hose because my rv has one hose for both tanks to empty out of. My bad.
@@stanw909 It's not JUST soapy water. Whatever goes down the kitchen sink and whatever yuck you washed off of your butt ends up in the grey tank. It is WASTEWATER so dumping it on the ground is a CRIME in most jurisdictions.
@@colormedubious4747 I would never dump grey water anywhere except my lawn. When traveling,we use dump stations. We don't have a shower and wipe grease and food particles off our cooking pans and dishes before rinsing them off . The wipes ( TubOtowels ) and paper towels are put in garbage bags to dispose of later . I hope this and the editing of the original post helps to calm your concerns .
I'm over 6'3" so my elbows would knock that cheap door completely off its hinges in that tiny torture chamber. I hate Hate HATE those horrible mid-coach side bathrooms. That is NOT the place to shave inches from a build-out. The RV industry needs to snap out of it and realize that their target market is not exclusively composed of midgets and toddlers.
Hi Scott, oh boy, I am so glad you finally got your hands around the Tellaro AT. As you know we have been looking for a rig for our family of 4 and this one gets a lot of boxes checked from us. We went to the CA RV show a few weeks ago where we were able to check out the Tellaro AT (and others). The Tellaro AT got a lot of traction. I think this floor plan with a top roof hits a sweet spot, especially for families. The Solis for almost the same price feels like a less quality Rigg in comparison. Plus it holds less space, built on RAM 2500 and has no AC!!! And no option for Lithium batteries (perhaps less of an issue for many). We were considering the Hymer (they had quite a few for a very aggressive price) at the show too. My wife, however, fell in love with the modern white colour scheme and vast improvements the Tellaro has over the Hymer. Everything you pointed out in the video is spot on. Perhaps for you, you would go without the top roof option because then you can have a roof vent? A few issues we also noticed: 1) The screens for the windows are super iffy and in fact, fell off when one visitor was trying to figure out how to uses them. Hopefully, Thor comes up with a better solution. Awning windows would be indeed a much better option, especially since this Rigg with the rooftop option doesn't have a vent and airflow may be impacted a bit. 2) You didn't have a chance to sit in the bench right with seatbelts put on, right? On the van we checked out, the seat belts pulled out only a bit. I could essentially not buckle up at all and even my kids had troubles. The RV sales reps tried it too in vain. So, poor quality control there. 3) What do you think about the grey water tank position? it's pretty low. Would that be an issue?
I sound like a broken record BUT there just isn't anything that compares to a Winnebago TRAVATO 59 GL!!! I watch all these reviews you do of other RV's and none of them have changed my mind!! I do like the suggestions you have for Winnebago to improve the Travato!!
It essentially IS a Hymer Aktiv 2.0 Loft Edition but with twin beds. It's cheaper than a Travato 59K or 59G for fairly obvious reasons. That bathroom is AWFUL You can't have solar panels with the pop top option, according to the website.
Interesting idea. Maybe we should hold a Pop-Up Channel Meetup and have design your perfect Class B RV workshop. Then we Kickstarter the design for investor to build a Proof-of-Concept !
@@gosmall.livelarge Mine would have a big living room up front with twin beds and the ability to turn around the seats. There would be an L shaped kitchen and bath in the rear with a shower pan/toilet (cassette, porta potty or semi composting) on passenger side corner and counter on drivers side. The sink and shower can share the same faucet. No wall , just a heavy shower curtain. Power vent overhead. I came up with this plan because with a Promaster , I can have a big grey tank where the spare tire goes. Spare will be mounted on rear of van . Most importantly, I can have a huge compressor fridge . Water tank will be under passenger bed and batteries will be under drivers side bed .
@@gosmall.livelarge I looking over some of the same videos. The Fit RV,James and Stephanie put out a new video in November 2020. That got me interested in checking out the pop-ups. My thoughts are that I like the Solis. Would Embassy RV Terry be the guy to hold the workshop? Scott, You could take emails or snail mails of floor plans from viewers and select the best ones.
Scott, with our 59GL, (as convinced by YOU!), our Volta system is stronger, lasts longer, and has a longer warranty. I hope I’m not repeating other comments, but still prefer the Winn 59GL! ;) Thanks for the positive review!
thanks Scott for the interesting review, yes there are somethings that are interesting in this model, love the multiplex wiring, the heat in the back and although cassette toilets have proponents and opponents, it would be great if Winnebago had a lighter more European styling. particularly like the aria.....did you look at national traveller vans while in Florida...also the NuCamp Avia travel trailer ( I know its a towable) but the interiors are stellar in their design and execution....watching all these videos from China is very interesting to see the overlap by all my RUclips followings
Not as impressed as you. Too narrow again. No Volta especially, though. The galley cabinet (not drawer space) & wardrobe were useless of course. You talked about using 1 bed & garage space but where were you going to walk?? I think you were blinded by those white overhead cabinets you wanted LOL
I've seen reviews of so many vans, including those in Europe, & my '97 Roadtrek 170, with storage instead of 3rd & 4th seats, has more storage & a better layout than anything else. And back then Roadtreks were built well, as we all hope their revived vans will be.
I dunno, maybe I'm just more frugal or something, but having lived full-time several times - I had almost ZERO issues with water and sinks that you seem to have. I can brush my teeth properly , rinse twice, and use about a quart of water. Total. I can wash and rinse a couple of pans and a pot using less than a gallon of water. If I needed to rinse the sink, I'd use a paper towel to get 90% of the detritus out before a small rinse. Most of your quibbling seems nonsensical.
Hi Scott, Do you have an email address? My comment might be off subject. I have found a class B+ or C with a unique floor plan. The living area is separate from the kitchen area. You do good reviews.
The sales guy who was selling us our Travato said that he refuses to sell Thors to anyone. If they insist on a Thor, he’ll send them to a different salesperson. (And he wasn’t trying to sell us on the Travato. We came in specifically to buy the Travato and I had just mentioned jokingly a Thor we’d seen that was about 40 ft and I had told my husband to be grateful that he’s not married to one of those kinds of wives. :)
Really like this design too. It’s a big improvement on Hymer, especially at the back. I personally don’t mind tiny bathroom because it’s functional and just like in Aktiv, folks would take shower sitting on the toilet. Would be nice if you would report on tank sizes for fresh and gray. Is lithium battery included in the cost you showed? Why Thor can do this and keep the price reasonable while Winnebago and Volta think they can charge $30K for their lithium setup? Once again, great bed design at the back. Roof fan is missing, due to the pop up and solar is probably missing too, but if they have good secondary alternator, it’s OK. Solar is way overrated anyway.
Hi I finally got my tellaro last weekend! One thing for sure I think Thor needs to do better QA on the rig before they ship them out just some imperfection giving you are buying a 100k item you would think the quality should be better and higher standard.

Do these come with a system similar to the pure3?
Some are lithium equipped, but Volta's Pure3 is better IMO. Automotive grade, better chemistry, one manufacturer for the entire system end to end, etc. But do your homework and come fo your conclusion. Watch the video where Volta. was my guest speaker as some of that is addressed, ruclips.net/video/-GdD-Kz5mLQ/видео.html
Seems like the Travato 59GL is still the one to beat in your opinion?
All this vans looks amazing, but Only looks, I think there is more pain than joy, very very small , think about when it's raining, man just a pain if there is more than one person
Craftsmanship and material used, compared to Its European counters, look pretty rough to me.
Thanks for the video, do you know the bed size? Would it fit a 6ft person comfortably?
Nevermind, heard it in the video, 6ft.
How much more if any will they come off show price?
Rule of thumb: 70% of the MSRP is your starting position for the haggle.
I don't understand the television placement in this van and the Travato 59g. Only two people can watch at a time.
@@stanw909 3 can theoretically watch in the G/GL. 2 in the cab seats and one on the pax side bench seat. Caveat: I didn't say "watch comfortably."
Small fridge, tiny bathroom, cassette toilet, no counter extension= no go for me. I’m sticking with my G!
How does it have a gray tank waste and a cassette toilet?
I hope this and the editing of the original post helps to calm your concerns .
nice review, do you think you could shower in that space?
I'm over 6'3" so my elbows would knock that cheap door completely off its hinges in that tiny torture chamber. I hate Hate HATE those horrible mid-coach side bathrooms. That is NOT the place to shave inches from a build-out. The RV industry needs to snap out of it and realize that their target market is not exclusively composed of midgets and toddlers.
@@colormedubious4747 l like how they do it in Europe. I would like to see the shower expand into the hallway
@@Lracnolip I've seen at least one North American rig with that. Can't recall whose.
A few issues we also noticed:
1) The screens for the windows are super iffy and in fact, fell off when one visitor was trying to figure out how to uses them.
I really like the light cabinets/interior! Also liked the pullout connector to extend the bed!
Like your boots
Thank you ! Cowboy boots :)
I sound like a broken record BUT there just isn't anything that compares to a Winnebago TRAVATO 59 GL!!! I watch all these reviews you do of other RV's and none of them have changed my mind!! I do like the suggestions you have for Winnebago to improve the Travato!!
Yeah, they need to get on it... I am sure they are, right?!
Good video not a big fan of this van either
Fair enough!
It essentially IS a Hymer Aktiv 2.0 Loft Edition but with twin beds. It's cheaper than a Travato 59K or 59G for fairly obvious reasons. That bathroom is AWFUL You can't have solar panels with the pop top option, according to the website.
Thanks for that comparison! Thor has to refine the tellaro a bit more. Does this model come also with Lithium? Great work!
I wish you would draw a floor plan of how you would want a rig planned out. It would be interesting.
@@gosmall.livelarge those euro Van's you looked at seemed pretty perfect, loved the bathroom shower wall that moved.
Good review, but using God’s Name in vain is unnecessary (4 times).
Apoloiges
Scott, with our 59GL, (as convinced by YOU!), our Volta system is stronger, lasts longer, and has a longer warranty. I hope I’m not repeating other comments, but still prefer the Winn 59GL! ;)
Thanks for the positive review!
Michelle!!! Good to hear from you gain. Loving your GL or what?!
Travato killer? I don't agree, especially the tiny bathroom.
But it is interesting in it's own way.
Buy $106,000. Come on these
Prices for class B are
Outrageous
Yeah much better to get a humungous Class A that's hard to drive and park and consumes heaps of gas and only comes in 100 shades of brown... 😜
thanks Scott for the interesting review, yes there are somethings that are interesting in this model, love the multiplex wiring, the heat in the back and although cassette toilets have proponents and opponents, it would be great if Winnebago had a lighter more European styling. particularly like the aria.....did you look at national traveller vans while in Florida...also the NuCamp Avia travel trailer ( I know its a towable) but the interiors are stellar in their design and execution....watching all these videos from China is very interesting to see the overlap by all my RUclips followings
NuCamp towable are really cool. Not familiar with National Traveler. Tell us more.
Not as impressed as you. Too narrow again. No Volta especially, though. The galley cabinet (not drawer space) & wardrobe were useless of course. You talked about using 1 bed & garage space but where were you going to walk?? I think you were blinded by those white overhead cabinets you wanted LOL
Look there... white cabinets !!
I've seen reviews of so many vans, including those in Europe, & my '97 Roadtrek 170, with storage instead of 3rd & 4th seats, has more storage & a better layout than anything else. And back then Roadtreks were built well, as we all hope their revived vans will be.
Scott great review, and I also not a great fan of the flip up sink. Safe travels.
This would be perfect if they used the European windows. But definitely nice 💕
We love the way you assess and explain the real world functionality of the design and the components. Another great video.
Thx Rag Top :)
I would not buy a Thor product. Lots of fit and finish problems.
I despise those folding sinks
Truth
Hi Scott,
Do you have an email address?
My comment might be off subject.
I have found a class B+ or C with a unique floor plan.
The living area is separate from the kitchen area.
You do good reviews.
Don't keep it to yourself! Which rig have you found?
Thx 277knw. Please paw around my website for me email address.
Hymer active 2.0 loft. Thor got some great ideas when they bought hymer
Thor troubles. Cheapen out on build quality. Good luck with warranty work.
Solar is on top of the rooftop. Lithium is an option not a standard and according to Thor’s site, it’s like 22k add on. The rooftop is roughly 11k.
this is perfect on everything, except if ram2500 chassis, would be perfect, under 20' like Hymer.
Hi I finally got my tellaro last weekend! One thing for sure I think Thor needs to do better QA on the rig before they ship them out just some imperfection giving you are buying a 100k item you would think the quality should be better and higher standard.
Thanks for the info! Appreicate your input Liaodesign
Great video Scott! I appreciate your take on the flip sink. Very good point. I have to say that overall, I like the lay out and the build quality of the Travato much better.
Hi Dave. Yeah, not winning and friends with that type of sink, including Travato K owners. My G sink is a more useful sink, I think!
Thule is pronounced "too-lee". Loved this tour.
TOOOOO-LLEEEEE LOL
Sleeping surface? is that American for bed? 😜
A table could be a sleep surface! Thx for commenting
