Really? I love this one. The 11th Doctor episodes are the ones that get on my nerves more... Mainly because Matt Smith does his acting as if he's on the Wiggles rather than a proper SciFi show, and because from partway through the 5th season, it becomes more centred on the season/multiseason story rather than the individual epidode's story - I prefer Doctor Who to be such that I can watch them out of order and still enjoy them, rather than having to figure out where all the characters are up to.

16 Years later, Catherine has done a full series as a companion, returned for Ten's regeneration episodes, done Tenth Doctor sets at Big Finish, done a Donna spin-off at Big Finish, and is now returning for the 60th anniversary - Catherine might actually get that spin-off at this rate.
Could we please all take a moment to appreciate the make-up and "costume" of the Empress of the Racnoss? I mean - Look at it! It's a goddamn costume, no CGI! And Sarah Parish has to play in that, and she's AWESOME, hands down.
Doctor Who is one of the Sci-Fi television shows in where monsters and even Daleks weren't CGI, the CGI is only used for Dalek's laser beams and stuff.

I miss the slightly unrealistic affects of classic/early reboot doctor who. It all started to go wrong when they introduced CGI.
Watching this in 2023 knowing Donna Noble has become one of the most beloved companions of all time, and is coming back to the show this year, puts a smile on my face.
So sweet and really sad that he misses Billie just as much as the doctor misses Rose :( got me in the feels

Until five minutes ago, I honestly never realised that Sarah Parish played the Empress of the Racnoss! She's such a brilliant actress.

Catherine considers Donna as the "rebound" assistant yet most fans consider Martha to be the "rebound" assistant.
sweiland75 this episode was a Christmas special between rose leaving (end of season 2) and Martha meeting the doctor (start of season 3). Donna didn't become the doctors more permenant companion until after martha left at the end of season 3.

i thought it was so interesting to come back to this after listening to david's podcast with catherine and for her to say that she was offered the chance to continue as the new companion instead of freema but declined at the time because she didn't realise how much she was liked or how big of a deal doctor who was really. but i'm so glad they decided to ask her again afterwards because she's my absolute favourite companion and the fact that she seems such a genuinely friendly person away from the screens makes me love her even more
I know I'm very late, but also after the Billie Piper one where he talks about how Billie helped him through his loss of anonymity and "being famous" No wonder he missed her so much. Must have been awful.
Now we wait for the Donna Noble adventures.

i LOVE the little kids who are watching Donna and the Doctor and before their in the back like "JUMP! JUMP!" and then they were cheering when she made it. ^_^ god that part made my day.
