NOTE: We tried hard to get a Catholic priest in this video but the Diocese that runs where I live declined participating this video.
Also, if I asked literally EVERY religion in history, this video would have been damn near 10 hours long. But like, comment if you like this video and if it does well I can always do a part 2 with religions I missed or underrepresented.
Regardless would love to hear your thoughts, because I feel like religion and this need to fill a spiritual void has become more popular. Are you religious and/or considered following a religion recently? Let me know

I have some problems with how you presented this. You choose to compare the Jewish and Muslim beliefs and current political turmoil. But you play the Christian responses off of non-believers or former Christians. This comes off as more biased and critical of Christianity than the other religions. You also ask more critical questions of the Christian as well ie the question about the Bible changing over time, but this question is not asked of the other belief systems. This not only reveals a more critical attitude of Christianity, but an ignorance of the weaknesses of the other religions. It feels like you didn't do as much research on the others, and just took the regular secular talking points that are usually directed towards Christianity but not other religions. Plus, asking the homosexuality question of the Christian but not of the others is problematic as most of the other religions also have an issue with homosexuality.
To better get a grasp of what each religion truly thinks, you need to talk to experts, not just people on the street. Find big name theologians and religious leaders who know what they're talking about. Also, instead of finding random secular people on the street, why not ask more educated agnostics or skeptics?

-Everyone can go to heaven regardless of their religion.

-THERE IS NOT EVEN A WAY TO CONVERT INTO HINDUISM BECAUSE IT DOES NOT BELIEVE IN CONVERSION

Where the hell is mentioned sumlaingik vivah ? What Sanskrit scriptures you have read ? Is saimlaingik btw, and the vivahs are of 8 types and none of them are saimlaingik vivah. In Hindu scriptures marriage is for man and a woman, but there is not mention of saimlaingik relation not saying it sin nor saying it is a good thing , it's just not mentioned not discussed it's upto today's religious rishis of Hinduism to discuss it taking on account of all the modern parameters and little details from scriptures wether it would be sin or not, an most probably of it is not mentioned it would not be sin.
No vivah paddhati mentions how to marry a boy with boy or girl with girl, but there is no ban to invent a vivah paddhati to marry of homesexuals too , just find out a sanskirtacharya and invent one.

Hindu man was to the point and answered everything greatly . Also Buddha , never started any religion , he just gave his path to enlightenment just like Shankara and patanjali . If Buddhism was only contained in India , it would probably never get that ism , Hinduism is made of 6 diffrent philosophies , some of which deny god , some are dualistic , adualistic , pantheist . Hinduism along with other dharmic traditions form sanatan dharm , the eternal reality . We Hindus consider the gurus of Sikhs as ours ,Buddha of Buddhists as ours , mahavir and teerthankaras of Jains as ours . We also how down to Christ , for his teachings .

Actually the hare krishna , in foreign is mostly by " iskcon" which is good but in many away from truth of sanatan,
      They are more of abrahmic
      ,
      They say Krishna is supreme
      Which in way he is
But scriptures say that he is one form of Vishnu .
So there's just one supreme conciousness,
Those who see it as krishna
Call it krishna ,those who call it shiv see as shiv .
      It's quite complicated,and that's the mystery .
It is said that it is even mystery the true nature of "parbrahm" (supreme counciouness) that even they seek them and they too are different in several universes and many earths they also seek moksh (free from cycle of life of death , they live in heaven where abrahmic religions aim to be ) ,
We all are seeking, those saints of us who achive purity and understand soul and purpose ,become demigods .
And though parbrham is one ,
But manifests as two "shiv" (conciousness) and "shakti" (energy) .
They both are one and can't be differed but they manifest as divine masculine and divine feminine.
Shakti's upasakas see her as supreme
      Shiv's see him
Vashinavs as isckon see vishnu or Krishan as him .
But they are all one, just different faces .
All goddesses are forms of shakti (as energy)
Like mild forms or destructive forms (chaos like ,ultimate end of everything) , and powerful who Destroys demon .
Mostly she manifests as 3 as 3 different natures - "satva" as saraswati (also happens to be goddess of flowing water, intellect, conciousness, knowledge, gyan, aescticm , music ,speech )
,rajas as in the red colour, not bad but like colour ,the essence of human life ,
One a married person have ,
As Lakshmi (depicted as goddess of wealth, money, fortune but she literally means one to help achive "lakshya" which means aim , so she is Lakshmi,
Today's world see aim as reaching wealth and all so see her as goddess of fortune .
And 3rd ,of "tamas" is "mahakaali" , tamas of dark anger, lust, and all .
She' s not them, she frees from them,
      She frees from them,
      She's ultime destoryer,
      She ends all bad things,
In end of every universe and time cycle she ends the very fibre of reality .
      But she's the kindest mother,
She is slayer of demons .
In rajas lakshmi as helper to reach "aim" ie. Satva or purity
Thus she is a helper ,the one who helps achieves aim
She is in process towards satva thus "Lakshmi" .
      They further have many forms,
As saraswati in "Gayatri " form gave "vedas" (the supreme texts ) ,
      Lakshmi takes many forms ,
Thought Lakshmi and Saraswati are providing forms of knowledge, waters, fertility, and all but also in some forms slay demons .
These 3 are like divine energies,
They don't have husbands and all, or respectively gods .
      These create everything,
They are supreme and 3 forms of supreme consciousness
      ,three goddesses
      Saraswati (not MahaSaraswati)
      Lakshmi (not mahalakshmi as above)
And parvati /shakti/sati/uma (she takes kaali form when killing demons and many other forms as mother, protector, and all)
They give boons who to their devotees when they are prayed to, and take birth as daughters .
In history, one rishi named "katyayan" asked supreme consciousness to take birth as his daughter in his home,
      Being his daughter named "katyayani"
And she did, she grew and when a demon named
      " mahishasur" was being menace,
      That girl took "durga" form
(Many hands, and gods gave her their weapons she used, )
      And killed mahishasur
The same energy took birth as himalayas' daughter ,named "Shailputri" (daughter of himalaya) ,her mother called her "uma" when she was doing very hard penance to achieve shiv as her husband again (the body was mortal, the goddess wasn't she is energy ever changing but can't be destroyed ) as Himalayas' daughter she was demi goddess's body so she did penance for several thousands years,
And later shiv (not conciousness,a physical form who achived that state)
woke up from meditation and they married , she wore moon on her forehead (called "chandraghanta",
Next form , depicted as pregnant woman,
"Kushmanda" (being cosmic womb egg of ultimate heat , "ushma " means heat and "anda" means egg)
It is said to be form in which she gave birth to universe from her divine womb ,and matching somehwat big bang,
A small egg of unlimited heat and it from a point blasts to all extends and cool down .
In next she is depicted as mother then a protector and in last form of "9 durga" (forms of parvati, the shakti has many forms) is giver of superpowers like an adult woman of house who is provider of knowledge,
These are very kind forms and motherly, u just pray to them from true heart and devotion ,u r are all good
These are all kind and forgiving,
There are "10 mahavidya" they are like codes ,they are not like oh mother ,they are raw energy , u gotta do all right things in tantra and process and like ,u gotta do exact right process of complex tantras, sacrifices . Their energy would consume u ,
They are mothers but u can't like oh mither give me power,
      They are codes of energies
U gotta do it with siddh guru
      Not easy to find ,
      Their energies can kill u,
They are worshipped by ascetics and notnin homes .
      Ultimately it's one shakti ,
      Who resides in everything,
For her it is said "she is ever permeable, the suns move through Her, humans, gods, demons she permeates everything .
Well exactly what today's energy is !
The demons who had ego that woman can't kill them were killed by woman , and thougt they are complete but when shakti inside of them came out
They were ever weak, from creating havoc in universe can't even move .
Shakti is never destroyed just chnages form
Some so fierce, mere touch will vanish .
Some very kind and mild .
Overall she is one "mata AADIPARASHAKTI "
U can read " devi atharvashirsh"
      In English translation ,
On Google it's magnificent and defines her so well .
From Intellect to speech,to feelings, anger, lust, goodness, kindness ,gods humans nothingness she is everything .
Isckon promotes Krishan with Radha (Radha is form of shakti) and (krishn of shiv)
Scriptures say "vishnu and shiv are one ,those who differ them are fools" (as in they are same parbrahma,)
Iskcon promotes shiv and Parvati are demigods but purans ( scriptures ) say radha herself worshipped devi "katyayani" (the one who killed mahishasur) to achive krishn as husband .

Another group who protects Brahmins and Hinduism, the Kshatriyas. Another group who brings fortune and prosperity to Hinduism, the Vaishyas. And another group who takes care of the basic needs of all the 3 groups, the Shudras.
Caste system was a human concept. It was a manipulation of the 4-way work division, where earlier people who could change their division, were not allowed to do so. Eventually this coagulated into the rigid caste system that we had (it was banned a long time ago) where Brahmins used to have the most powers and Dalits were treated poorly.

Business people or shop keepers known as Vaishya.

As I delved into its teachings and practices, I found profound meaning and inner peace. Rituals, meditation, and the study of sacred texts offered clarity and purpose, enriching my life in unexpected ways. This deeper commitment stemmed from a desire for personal growth and a more purposeful existence. Embracing my faith more fully has not only strengthened my cultural ties but also brought me closer to a sense of spiritual fulfillment and understanding.

Here are some points that are often critiqued within Hinduism:
Caste System: The caste system, historically linked with Hinduism, has been criticized for promoting social stratification and discrimination. The practice of untouchability and the marginalization of lower castes has led to significant social injustice and inequality.
Gender Inequality: Certain interpretations of Hindu texts and traditions have been criticized for perpetuating gender inequality, particularly in the roles and rights of women within society.
Superstition and Ritualism: Some critics argue that certain practices within Hinduism can encourage superstition and ritualism, which may overshadow the spiritual and philosophical aspects of the religion.
Sati Practice: Although now illegal, the historical practice of Sati (widow immolation) was linked to Hindu customs and is often cited as an example of extreme patriarchy and oppression of women.
Dowry System: The dowry system, which is still prevalent in some parts of India, is sometimes linked to Hindu marriage practices and has led to financial strain and violence against women.
Caste-Based Violence: There have been instances of violence and discrimination against lower castes, particularly Dalits, which are often justified by rigid interpretations of caste hierarchies.
Religious Intolerance: While Hinduism is often described as a tolerant and inclusive religion, there have been instances of religious intolerance, particularly against minorities within India, which some argue are fueled by certain nationalist or fundamentalist interpretations.
Environmental Concerns: Certain traditional practices, such as the mass disposal of religious offerings in rivers, have been criticized for contributing to environmental pollution.

Exactly this is the truth. In India they convert the poor and suffering villagers in the name of help. This is the reasons why every 4th person in Indian villages is a Christian. I would have appreciated the missionaries if they had helped people with their own hard earned money and without the conditions of conversion. But the fact is they get foreign funding to keep their work on. This is not humanity or greatness. Anyone could help suffering people if they get foreign funding. @@emergencyambulance2017 what are u saying dude, ur conclusion is only a result of not understanding people. Everyone has good and bad in them. Most people are victims of their own circumstances, no one is Inherently evil. I know you will not take this advice but a lot of what you said can be better understood by going into human psychology. Having intrusive thoughts and acting upon it are miles apart from each other. And if thoughts had the same consequences of acting upon on it then we wouldn't do that often either. What religion is, it is a supporting stick when things fall apart and things don't make sense. Knowing someone is watching over you and things happen for a reason alone can mentally make you stronger. Religion exists because it has benefits and I am grateful that people who are victim to their circumstances and lives in this unfair world were given a reason to live another day because of the support, hope, belief, purpose it gave them when they were about to end it all. This does not make them weak for using religion as support because the alternative route is way harder. As we all don't start at the same starting line.

That's an oversimplification of both Khmer & Buddhist history. There were many religious, war faring neighbouring regions of that time. King Jayavarman VII, whose was a pious Buddhist, was indeed a pacifist for a long time and actually left the capital cause he didn't care to rule, that is until he felt he had to after Cham invasion of the capital (and the killing of his brother/cousin). So in essence it was self defense/duty, not necessarily in the name of Buddhism.
After leading the rebellion and taking back Angkhor, he lead the empire into its golden era and majority of the population then converted to Buddhism. In Buddhist texts, we are taught that we are not to kill and choose peace. However, we also acknowledge in this world there is duality & fear affects all.

The best way to understand Hinduism is by the Bhagavad Gita.
In Hinduism, it is not about heaven or hell. It is about breaking your life cycle and attain Moksha - Uniting of Atma(Individual Soul) with Paramatma(The Supreme Soul).
    How do you do it?
Many paths are prescribed such as :
1.Bhakti Yog : Devoting yourself to the Paramatma(you may call it God), either in a formless way or even through an 'Ishta Devata' (A form of your choice). You can think of your 'Ishta Devata' as your son, your lover, your father, your mother or just as God. There are examples of great and revered people who have done this.
    Important thing is Bhakti.
    And what is Bhakti?
Bhakti is the supreme stage of Love where you don't expect anything in return for the love you give.
    2. Karma Yog : Karma Yog means doing 'Nishkam Karma'.
    What is Nishkam Karma?
The Principle of doing your duty, how pleasant or unpleasant it may be, and at the same time not caring about the result. That is your doing your duty for the sake of doing it and not because you want to attain its result or outcome. When you expect the result, you'll fall into the cycle of Karma. But when you do Nishkam Karma, you'll not do so. Like this when you break the cycle of Karma, you'll get Moksha(Salvation).
    3. Gyan Yog : The pursuit of Knowledge.
You dedicate your whole life in the pursuit of knowledge. And at one point of time, all your knowledge will lead you to Enlightenment and you reach a state of divinity. And you will lead a perfect life and when you end it, you'll get Moksha.
The most difficult part and important thing to be understood is that you should not get proud of your knowledge. You should be always ready to learn from anywhere and anyone, even from a person who is generally considered wortless, idiot, crazy or an outcast.
These are just 3 ways. There are lot more.

@@viperstriker4728 Dharmic faiths atleast wrt Hinduism is centered around individual and not at community level with goal attaining eternal salvation on the pholosohpy of karma, so the tenats of it doesn't forbid something just because the community did not like it, this is the reason why there is variation in the way Hinduism is practised as culture of the community of a locale influences the practises even when the faith doesn't forbid something and casteism is just one example of the culture inspite of the faith not endorsing it. Same is the reason why caste hiearchy is seen in christians and muslims of south asia inspite of those faiths not having that concept. Finally the tenats of Christianity and Islam represents the cultural norms of the community of the time period when these faiths are formed and so is their vehement opposition to anything that doesn't conform to this rules while the dharmic faiths recognize the fluidity of the community norms doesn't forbade something just because majority think so. Paul addresses women when giving his version of the household code, you won't see that from the Romans or Greeks. They addressed the men and told them how their women were suppose to behave. I am sure you can see why that difference would have upset the culture of the time.
You have a few other misconceptions. The US is actually run by feminism right now, so there is no debate. We have had several people running for president with being a women being one of the main arguments for why she should be a elected. Basically every show depicts the majority of leadership as female now. So.... your wrong.
And how is a women in leadership an individual choice? I as an individual decide I should rule over you.... yeah, clearly this is a societal choice.
Abortion is the same way. If I as an individual decide a racial minority is "just a clump of cells" does that mean it isn't murder to kill them? That's not a joke, some people during racial segregation didn't think black people were human. If you deny babies the rights of a human, then your just as bad.

With due respect, I would say or inform you that Buddhism is just an extended branch/part of Hinduism as Gautam buddha himself was Hindu.
Sidharth got born in Hindu/Vedic family in Nepal. He took his primary knowledge from his hindu parents and teachers. Then in his early age, he left his home and came to Bharat/India and started taking knowledge from gurus of Vedic/Sanatan dharma.
He became Buddha only after he got enlightened in Bharat.
He got born as hindu, lived his life as Hindu, and died as Hindu.
And most importantly, he never said that he has started new religion other than Hinduism/Sanatan Dharma.
Hinduism allows you to find your own ways to moksha... that's how buddhism and sikhism got born from Hinduism.
So, Hinduism is kind of parental religion for buddhism and sikhism.

      1) Hinduism Dharma is only biggest religion in world who worships female Goddesses equally as well. Other religions only says that their God is male, not female....but only Hinduism believes in this that universe is made up from both masculine energy as well as feminine energy, so we worships Goddesses equally.
      2) Hinduism is only religion who gives rights to transgenders as well. Hinduism embraces transgenders similarly as any male or female. Transgender specially worships Lord Shiva as their isht-dev.
      3) Hinduism allows atheism as well. Hinduism holy books gives full rights to atheism as to find own ways for their moksha/purpose of life.
      4) Hinduism says or teaches about "Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam" which means "whole world is one family" so treat everyone of world as a family members.
      5) In Bhagwat Gita, KRISHNA says "Karm kiye ja, fal ki chinta na kar" which means "do your duty/karma without worrying about the fruit of your duty/karma". It's one of the very powerful message to humanity.
      5) KRISHNA says "wherever there is no respect of women, that home/region/kingdom/civilisation gonna be destroyed by Karma through the will of KRISHNA"
      7) Hinduism never says that if you won't worship me or believe me, then you will be burn in hell or any kind of threats. But Hinduism always says to surrender your sorrows, pain and joy in feet of KRISHNA or SHIVA (or if you worship goddess Maa Parvati or Maa Kali). KRISHNA will take care of believers as well as non-believers equally because he is omnipresent and he don't do partiality for believers and non-believers because it doesn't matter for supreme Lord of this universe.

    • @KalravSrivastava
      @KalravSrivastava 5 месяцев назад +116

@@VuNguyen-fv5jl Yes it technically would allow that. Hinduism customs are only as strict or restricting as you allow them to be or impose on yourself.
Yes, it is a set of guidelines to help you live life in an optimal way to the best of its capabilities (small but obvious things like respect your elders, care for your family etc). But the degree of flexibility is also an inherent part of it.
Within Hinduism, it allows individuals to follow their own set of spiritual/religious practices. No two sets of people's prayers are required to be the same. People can pray to the deity they believe the most in. It's their prerogative. Whatever brings stability and peace to their life and helps take a load off their chest.
India is a big place, with many gods/deities, 'spirits' etc. that the people pray to.
      It's not a foreign concept.
Christianity and Islam are just monotheistic beliefs that originated outside of India. That's all. Had they originated in India, then they would likely just be a part of the "Hindu way".
Unlike many other religions, like in Islam and Christianity, Hinduism doesn't condemn anyone else's religion or beliefs and say things like people following other religions cannot go to heaven or find salvation or stuff like that.

before this census there were 3000 caste in indian subcontinent and british doubled tthem.
he didn't said caste was created by british but he did say the modern caste system as we see noe is creation of british, it's true, does it mean there were no atrocities in past because of caste system. NO there was but hindus time to time had there little update in religion which is called ' the bhakti movement' which used to address the wrongs in indian religion and solve it.
the caste isn't even indian word the original version is 'the varna system' which was basically a social hierarchy system based on your profession there were four levels - the brahmins[ those who do teaching, research, astrologer, doctor, all the high mental level stuff were brahmins], kshatriya[ the one who protects the land, basically military, police etc.], vaishyas[ business class, traders etc], shudra [ manual labour] the profession was passed in families for generation, the system was fluid anyone can level up or level down based on his abilities, as time passed the system became rigid so, many caste or jatis proliferated out of four varnas, now many 1000 year later among shudras the jatis who used to do stuff like leather tanning, toilet cleaner, sewage cleaner etc. became disliked profession and somewhat unclean and that was attached to people who belonged to that caste. that's how segregation started that people now started considering whole caste as unclean and impure, they were not allowed to enter temples and stuff this was all happening in same era as british arrived in india so they found a tool to exploit, they were no saviour as they potray in their books, first 100 years the company came in they didn't really do care about other stuff but to take control of many kingdoms of indian subcontinent, after first revolt of 1857 the british crown took over and come christian missionaries with them, they see a large population to be Evangelized, they recorded the so called atrocity literature with a large extent of exaggeration of what they call as brahminical religion. it also worked as great tool to keep indian population divided which was already divided.
this is just a short summary i'm providing, it's way complicated than that. i'm not blaming the british too, it's a fact that they did major translation of many ancient manuscripts and even destroyed them and there were keen to convert indians too. you want me to trust every damn thing my colonizer wrote about me in the branch of indology in the same universities which was created with the money earned by slave trade of indians into african lands. • @nikibogwater6598
    @nikibogwater6598 5 месяцев назад +244

I'm a practicing Catholic, and if I had to hazard a guess, I think the reason you couldn't get any of your local parishes to participate in the interview is likely because the bishop of the diocese didn't want to risk potentially adding fuel to the already-raging flames of discourse. Catholic social teaching is WAY more complex than most people give it credit for, and though the Catechism lays out a pretty comprehensive breakdown of all of the Church's teachings, it's a massive book that even most Catholics haven't read all the way through. The Church has struggled for decades to accurately communicate the ins and outs of our beliefs to both members and outsiders alike, which is made all the more difficult by how often your average Catholic completely fails to practice what they preach (that's like, the entire reason we need Jesus so much--even when we're actively trying to do the right thing, we often still screw up). So yeah, if I was a bishop, and some of my priests came to me and said "Hey, so we got this invitation to talk in a RUclips video about controversial opinions across different religions, what would you like us to do?" my first instinct would probably be "that sounds like it could go all kinds of wrong and result in all kinds of conflict even just among our own parishioners. Maybe let's NOT rock the boat here." Even so, I am disappointed they turned down the invitation, it would have been a great opportunity to help close the gaps between these different worldviews and beliefs. Too bad you couldn't get Bishop Robert Baron, he would've JUMPED on a chance like this in a heartbeat, and he would've been great at explaining everything too. Anyways, absolutely amazing video as always!!! These are always so helpful in keeping my mind open and ready to hear people out, no matter how much I may disagree with them.
(edit, just because I know how people on the internet love to interpret things): No I don't actually know for sure that this was the bishop's reasoning, or even if the bishop was consulted or the pastors all decided individually to decline the invitation--this is 100% just my guess. The Church is not a monolith, sometimes different diocese do things that are radically different than others--we Catholics are just as obnoxiously complicated and messy as everyone else in the world lol.
