I love the edgy aggressive tone of the "live version", although it's recorded from the soundboard. This is what I believe the most transitional record in their history. Light years ahead of it's time!
Dude fans were getting on stage, moshing, and then diving into the crowd, insane! Ministry shows did/have so much energy due to the aggressive sound. It brings out your inner demons, for the duration of the show, gets exercised, and gets stored back in nicely.
before people stood around with cell phones filming shitty videos, they actually flipped out. this video = life changing for me. probably for a lot of us people who were teenagers in the early 90's.
I was very young and didn't know they existed til I heard NWO at some point in the mid 90s, but I got to see them live twice in 2022. They were aggressively loud, the crowd was super high energy but not violent like Slipknot, and it got rough but no one was out to hurt anyone else. Quite the opposite: everyone was looking out, passing surfers along, and the surfers had their feet crossed and arms held straight out so they didn't fall. Same with Lamb of God, Meshuggah, Nine Inch Nails, STP, and Rob Zombie. This was, of course, in 2018/19 when NO ONE stood absolutely still at the rail, let alone with their arms all the way above their heads to ruin it for thousands of people behind them. Y'know, I think I really would prefer to be amid this kind of chaos rather than getting elbowed in the face when the crowd surge lurches me forward into the asshole recording, or not being able to see even the screens and no one will let me in front of their brick wall of armphones
Desperately seeking a DVD/VHS rip of this one. If you have, please get in touch. I am a video archivist and this is one of the greatest Industrial Metal performances of all time.
Gettin' older isn't the solution anyway ... I'm 52 and saw them 3 times - referring to this video at first 1991 in the Netherlands ... BUT: sometimes my opinion is the same: born too late to get in touch with some bands which grew up in the early 80's [like Dead Kennedys, P.I.L. and so on] So please take care: there are new ones on stage ... Best greetings from Dortmund, Germany.
Most pits I have been in has usually been filled with people who are there to have a good time and if they see someone fall, They immediately pick that person up, so they too can have a good time
Al was wayyyyyyy ahead of the pack.
This shit still slays on a completely untouched level..
God bless ya Uncle Al!.
I was at the Ventura, CA show on Feb 3, 1990. It was a truly insane show. KMFDM was the opening band, touring for UAIOE. Great memory!

Absolutely
Hell yeah!! Ministry is one of those bands that sounds just as good love if not better
It's, however, touched up in the studio. Listen to the same recording on the live boxed set.
