- Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros Feat. The Wolfpack
Mission Ballroom

November 4, 2022
Here's a bonus Friday upload of the Wolf Bros amazing Set 2 sequence last November at the Mission Ballroom in Denver. This section of the show added up to an hour and twenty minutes straight of all-time Dead classics, including a stunning performance of the full Terrapin Station suite. I was in attendance this night and it was one of the most exciting sequences of live music I've ever witnessed first-hand. Enjoy, and go see the Wolf Bros live if you get the chance!

The Wolfpack members deserve to be mentioned by name.
I agree! Do you know their names by chance? Lol. I tried to find them but no luck.
@@LostMyDayJob This seems to be the standard Wolf Pack configuration: Alex Kelly (cello), Brian Switzer (trumpet), Adam Theis (trombone), Mads Tolling (violin), and Sheldon Brown (woodwind). I know that Matthew Szemela performed instead of Tolling on October 14th at the 2022 Warfield 3 day run, but it's hard to track down when/if substitutions are made. Thanks for posting shows like you do!
@@LostMyDayJob Hello friend, will you have the first part of this extraordinary show? In addition to the other presentation the next day? greetings from Mexico!!
Thanks for posting!
This made my morning, thank you 🎉❤😊
The more I watch this band the more I really want to go see them!!! They sound great.
This gets jazzy and funky as grits. Love it. Love bob. & wolf pack.
The music cools my burning SOUL!!!!
Only 21k viewers in 12 months. This music had its origin's in America's emerging subculture . Thanks for letting me take a ride on this strange and beautiful under current.
Thanks for posting, this is awesome, such a sight to behold. I prefer Bobby w this lineup, as the songs have a fresh feel to them, and a renewed energy, as well.
The stage is filled with talent , excellent capture and the suite is one of the best yet, Jay on the skins and the lighting…. People here caught a real gem.
Thank You 🤘🏾🌹🎩🐺For Sharing This

@@LostMyDayJob so.......this also has a chance at being deleted ?
Enjoying this, thanks a lot.
All love for this amazing set nonstop ! My job lost day :) then dew.
These guys are just killing it! Saw them in Madison on Feb 28, and I was just blown away. The playing, the sound... all of it! I swear the sound was 3-dimensional at times! Kudos to the venue and the soundman (who we were standing right behind)
Awesome Dave! Yeah I think a lot of deadheads don't realize quite how amazing this band is lol. I caught three shows in TX last week, grate stuff.
This reader\editor would change your lede slightly: "These players are just living it!" Instead of "guys are just killing it." Despite sluggish rhythms and guitar droopy drop-ins, the musical movements are quite lively, lived in and not necessarily at the clarity end of spectrum...
Keep on doing

Magnifico.
Check out Bob's lead at the 21-minute Mark .... I love that he's the lead guitarist in this band and grabbing the reins

I have been enjoying the addition of the other instruments. Nice job, Bobby.
Also, the pedal steel player was Greg Leisz(sp?) for a long time but pretty recently Barry ‘Little Bear’ Sless took over that chair!
Perfection 😊😊😊❤❤😂🎉
I thought it was Ramble on Rose and then Bam Dark Star! Lucky to hear this.
It was clearly Dark Star from the first note... At least to me
Ty again for this 💨💨💨🙏🎸🌎

I've Got a Friend Somewhere
I was at this show with my son that night, what a great time. Thanks for posting this.
Are you going to do the first set as well? I hope so
Enjoy the music as usual from Patti Cornell
Real good. Love Bobby but the elehant in the room is that tinny, shrill guitar tone. So many have commented elsewhere so he must know and actually want this tone?! Bring back that deep tone, sweet tone he had in the 70s especially since hes attempting some lead now!
Yeah, I think it's safe to say he has his tone set the way he wants. I know it's a sticking point for a lot of people, I guess maybe I've just listened to enough of it that I don't mind it. Sometimes it works really well against the warm tones in this band especially, between the pedal steel and the Wolfpack there is a lot to play off.
@@LostMyDayJob good insights, yes thankfully with the horns etc it's covered, before Wolf Bros had them it stood out more. But as a player myself I know his tone could so easily be improved!
@@RobertMcEntee agreed. It's off-putting
I have had issues with the guitar, but it is becoming a good thing.
@@greyskydawg5284 curious how that is?

No lead guitar needed
be nice if it was there...dont get me wrong,I love it as is
Interesting that’s it’s all Jerry sung tunes.
He knows Jerry wrote better songs, but I wish he’d embrace his Weir’dness and sprinkle in some solo Bobby tunes

LOL were those the trio shows they did a couple months back? They got weird as hell which isn't a bad thing per se, but yeah nothing like this here.

They need a lead guitarist in addition to the pedal steel... Or just a different guitarist 🤦♂️😔
I know it's Bobby's gig and his band's tunes, but they'd sound absolutely wonderful with Billy Strings instead... Both vocally and musically. I don't enjoy having this opinion. I can't listen to it tho... Even with a different guitarist it's just not for me. I very much prefer original GD, D&C, JRAD, Billy & The Kids, Grateful Shred, and Mikaela Davis & Southern Star (who also have a pedal steel).
buddy yall should go back n listen to the Dead from 65 ,a taste of each year. to see /hear where this man came from . d n c should not really enter into the discussion . Or when the bus Slows down to the point where you aint settlin , on a corner jump . sometimes the songs that we hear are just songs of our own .
Good news bro! You don’t have to listen to wolf bros. It’s a free country (for now), so hopefully nobody is making you listen to them
