Please please give me your thoughts on Demon 79. There's literally no connection to any sort of technology. Does it really count as a black mirror episode? To me it feels like it doesn't belong

However i would compare it to something like if someone made a Jurassic park movie called Jurassic park but the whole movie centered around astronauts and outer space. The movie might be just as spectacular as space Odyssey or interstellar however it just feels really out of place being labeled as a movie about dinosaurs...
To me, its a two way tie between "History of You" and "White Christmas." History of you is a powerful early episode, that sets the stage with the first use of the implant/grain. It helps us understand all the implant episodes there after. And White Christmas is just...genius! Honorable mention for "15 Million Merits." Because Daniel Kaluuya was giving his whole life for that performance!
Black Mirror is in my top 5 favorite tv shows of all time. It is an incredible achievement. The Entire History of You is one of the greatest episodes of television ever.
I know he is revealed to be a gross guy but for some reason it didn't feel satisfying for me. It just felt gross and I felt so awful for his Mother on the phone. Also felt bad for him which made me feel weird cause who he is. Great episode though.

That was the very first episode I watched, and it shocked me to the core to find out what he'd actually been watching. It was a bizarre array of emotions it brought about because I'd been cheering for him and worried for him all the way through.

What is so great about black mirror is that everyone takes away something different from it so everyones favourite episodes are always different. Even the less popular episodes still have a significant number of fans ready with an essay to defend it, and going back and rewatching can have your own list changing as you pick up things you missed thr first time or find a new appreciation. Truly one of the best series created.
USS Calister was utterly enthralling. Very well acted and just twisted enough to keep you on edge throughout. Truly cinema-level quality from this show and that episode in particular
The episode was flawed though as it had many plotholes: 1. It’s not possible to transfer memories from DNA, it just isn’t. 2. Daly was admin of the game, why couldn’t he just teleport to the spaceship when he found out that the crew was going to the wormhole? 3. Speaking of the wormhole, that patch thing made absolutely no sense at all lmao 4. The ship was traveling at ftl speeds in a freaking asteroid field. That last collision alone should have pulverized them and the ship 5. etc It just didn’t feel like a typical black mirror episode to me, the writers tried to hard to give the episode a good ending, sacrificing logic in the process

Maybe the people in that universe have advanced nanorobots in their brains which make transferring of the consciousness to the VR Game possible and that small device we see is actually just used to power them. The thing is we don’t know, that’s why Im willing to overlook this part. However we definitely do know that memories aren’t “stored” in the DNA

shut up and dance will always be my favorite. i literally never stop thinking about it. in my opinion it's one of the most realistic, everything in that episode could MOST DEFINITELY happen and some probably already have. on top of this, the moral lesson is so significant to our society today. kenny looked like such an innocent kid, but nothing is always as it seems. i love the concept of this episode and the characters are so well written.
I like them all, but for me, the episodes White Christmas and Nosedive are head and shoulders above all the others. The entire history of you is a good number 3 for me.
"San Junipero" is my favourite episode thus far, since it actually gives the protagonists a happy ending, and there's an element of hope which is mostly lacking in many other installments.

USS Calister Hang the DJ probably won’t make it near the top of many other lists but it crushed me when you have a genuine connection someone and the timing isn’t right for whatever reason. They had to break the mold or rules just to be together. I must’ve watched that episode 10 times.
My top 5 in no particular order are "play test" "white bear" "nosedive" "shut up and dance" and "San Junipero" all phenomenal episodes. Black mirror is amazing at showing us fears we have that we didn't know we have and I expect season 6 to be the same. Very excited for this season.
White Bear was terrfying when you think about how people whip out their phone to record everything instead of help people. The twist of her being the girlfriend of a kidnapper and having the relive that over and over like a circus animal was crazy

The way people are so easily distracted in this is so accurate to real life #4 White Bear > I can actually see this as smth the entertainment industry would sink low enough to do. Again, we are an easily distracted species. #3 Nosedive > It's already happened somewhere else, I hope it does not touch other surfaces of earth like the virus. The virus was more than enough damage. #2 The Entire History of You > As a very forgetful person myself, this is smth I actually am on the fence abt whether I'd like to happen or not. It's the most irresistible piece of tech I've seen in all of BM. #1 Shut up and Dance > That plot twist haunts me to this day. Hactivism isn't really my go to genre when I want to see justice served but, this one will always have a special spot in my heart.

To be honest, we don't know how happy Lacie actually would be. The fact that she met a truck driver who appeared to be happy, or at least at peace, wouldn't really mean that every person who follows her path would have it the same. Ignorance is a bliss after all.

There are many later seasons' episodes that I love, but gonna give props to 15 Million Merits (people doing anything for 15 seconds in the sun & commodifying their essence along the way), Entire History of You (filtering memories to pushed the uncomfortable ones away, while also digging up dirts to hurt one another), and White Bear (cancel culture & our obsession with justice). These ones just mirrored the current social landscape perfectly and hollowingly in limited budget.
Awesome for sure and show was like seeing Bigfoot lucky catching the other season’s altogether and was blown away, don’t want to know what happens because so much is terrible in tv that I hoping it’s great!! Not good great.

among my favorites are shut up and dance, hated in the nation, and white bear, but my absolute favorite is actually men against fire. that episode had me feeling so mad and uncomfortable and I couldn’t stop thinking about it hours later.

My favourite will always be San Junipero - cause it is the only episode that made me cry like a baby out of all. I also love The Entire History of you, White Christmas, Playtest (I think the most underrated), Black Museum, and Beyond the Sea (my 2nd favourite).
unpopular opinion: Black Museum was one of my favorites> i'd say it's top 4 or 5. Similar to White Christmas, each story was crazy, and had me fully engaged. Especially the Pain Addict guy. That was messed up

There were at least 10 great episodes from the 5 seasons of Black Mirror. Unfortunately there isn’t any one from this season that I would add to the top 10.
San junipero was amazing and the one where the inmate gets dismembered. I loved #2 because I want that tech, I wanna block myself from a lot of people 💯
The black museum season 6 is my fav of the season, gotta go back and watch some now that I’ve seen a lot of ppl liking ones I thought looked just ok. 👍🏽

Crocodile and San Junipero. San Junipero is an a different level. From music down to set design. The montage at then while the sound track kicks in is the icing on the cake.
@@BrainPilotwatched that one today with my dad and I was asking sooo much questions about the story as it went on. It was very fun to watch and the ending was kinda emotional (that’s probably an understatement). Great introduction to season 3.

Difficult, as they are all good, but my favourite episodes are Hang the DJ, San Junipero and Be Right Back. Rachel, Jack, and Ashley Too is probably my least favourite, despite Miley Cyrus being very good in it - it felt a bit childish, particularly the ending.
It's weird because the entire history of you is probably my least favourite alongside metalhead. I was so bored and disappointed by the ending. It just seemed like a normal toxic couple falling apart with the added futuristic tech aspect (which wasn't a suprise because you know it's black mirror) for me shut up and dance with always come out on top with the ending line of "kids Kenny!" All the way through I was so on edge for Kenny and the hated the guy he was forced to work with. But at the end I ended up feeling for the other guy because Kenny turned out to be so horrific, he didn't seem all that bad. It was like a massive turn of events that I didn't really see coming until the fight scene where the man asked "you too?" I also love white bear and playtest but it seemed liked a horror movie more than a blackmirror episode.

This is why people didnt like season 6, that misunderstanding. Its NEVER been "demise of a character because of technology". Its ALWAYS been "humans have terrible traits, and those traits bring about their demise. We should fix these shortcomings before advancing our technology, cuz if you dont..." thats the premise behind every episode, rhe ladt seasons were just more techy
it is more realistic that people may think. the scene with the cia, when the artist lose it during the debate and the ending when we see his creation took over the world. it is powerful too when he changed his mind about politicians and went to recommend voting for actual ones instead of the creation the artist was losing his control on. I don't care what people think of this episode, to me it will always be better than all of season 4 and half of season 3
Here’s some of my favorites… #5. Nosedive The ending scene was really well done. Bryce Dallas Howard was so devastatingly real in this. #4. Playtest This one was legitimately creepy and had some really solid atmosphere. #3. White Bear Really good twist! Really makes you think at the end. #2. USS Callister It’s a strange idea but one that kept me on edge and didn’t disappoint. #1. Rachel, Jack And Ashley Too This was such a fun ride! So much so I got myself an Ashley Too Funko Pop! I just really like how it’s not like the other episodes of the show and it doesn’t try to be heavy or sad or dark or anything like that. It’s it’s own feel good weird buddy/robot mini movie.
I find it very funny how people take the wrong stuff from episodes... 1. Social ranking is a reality, and its not even bad. It's called money. You want to please people with money so they give you money and other people will start wanting to please you... And its great, because it makes people do good things. The problem in the episode was that the protagonist was insane and obsessive... not the tech. (the tech would be a probelm if imposed by governments.. but its another talk) 2. The techs here are great... you should be able to "hide" from stalkers... AIs are great... Can AIs suffer? Its a simple question we dont know the answer to.. 3. The tech was great here too.. wasnt for it, the protagonist would keep being fooled his whole life. He could not get rid of memories? Well, we cant already.
In no particular order: White Christmas, Black Museum, USS Calister, Playtest, and Beyond the Sea Chose these because they display how fucked up and dark this show can actually be and just the overall creativity of the script writing.
I'd have to say my favorites are 1. San Junipero 2. White Christmas 3. Black Museum & Metalhead I'd rank my #3's higher but I'm squeamish and can't watch every second of either episode so I feel that's a disservice haha

There are many later seasons' episodes that I love, but gonna give props to 15 Million Merits (people doing anything for 15 seconds in the sun & commodifying their essence along the way), Entire History of You (filtering memories to pushed the uncomfortable ones away, while also digging up dirts to hurt one another), and White Bear (cancel culture & our obsession with justice). These ones just mirrored the current social landscape perfectly and hollowingly in limited budget.

Awesome for sure and show was like seeing Bigfoot lucky catching the other season’s altogether and was blown away, don’t want to know what happens because so much is terrible in tv that I hoping it’s great!! Not good great.

among my favorites are shut up and dance, hated in the nation, and white bear, but my absolute favorite is actually men against fire. that episode had me feeling so mad and uncomfortable and I couldn’t stop thinking about it hours later.
Men against fire hardly gets a mention but I agree I thought that was great, and I thought it had a great message about war and how the enemy is seen.

Difficult, as they are all good, but my favourite episodes are Hang the DJ, San Junipero and Be Right Back. Rachel, Jack, and Ashley Too is probably my least favourite, despite Miley Cyrus being very good in it - it felt a bit childish, particularly the ending.
Some solid options in there! I agree with Rachel, Jack and Ashley too. It used to be The Waldo Moment until that one came along in S5!

I saw them in concert... they rock!
It's weird because the entire history of you is probably my least favourite alongside metalhead. I was so bored and disappointed by the ending. It just seemed like a normal toxic couple falling apart with the added futuristic tech aspect (which wasn't a suprise because you know it's black mirror) for me shut up and dance with always come out on top with the ending line of "kids Kenny!" All the way through I was so on edge for Kenny and the hated the guy he was forced to work with. But at the end I ended up feeling for the other guy because Kenny turned out to be so horrific, he didn't seem all that bad. It was like a massive turn of events that I didn't really see coming until the fight scene where the man asked "you too?" I also love white bear and playtest but it seemed liked a horror movie more than a blackmirror episode.

This is why people didnt like season 6, that misunderstanding. Its NEVER been "demise of a character because of technology". Its ALWAYS been "humans have terrible traits, and those traits bring about their demise. We should fix these shortcomings before advancing our technology, cuz if you dont..." thats the premise behind every episode, rhe ladt seasons were just more techy
black mirror is for me: "humanity has its dark aspects that technologie can exacerbate"

That was my take on it too. Waldo's fans were really no different to Trump's fervent lot.
it is more realistic that people may think. the scene with the cia, when the artist lose it during the debate and the ending when we see his creation took over the world. it is powerful too when he changed his mind about politicians and went to recommend voting for actual ones instead of the creation the artist was losing his control on. I don't care what people think of this episode, to me it will always be better than all of season 4 and half of season 3

This was such a fun ride! So much so I got myself an Ashley Too Funko Pop! I just really like how it’s not like the other episodes of the show and it doesn’t try to be heavy or sad or dark or anything like that. It’s it’s own feel good weird buddy/robot mini movie.

I find it very funny how people take the wrong stuff from episodes...
1. Social ranking is a reality, and its not even bad. It's called money. You want to please people with money so they give you money and other people will start wanting to please you... And its great, because it makes people do good things. The problem in the episode was that the protagonist was insane and obsessive... not the tech. (the tech would be a probelm if imposed by governments.. but its another talk)
2. The techs here are great... you should be able to "hide" from stalkers... AIs are great... Can AIs suffer? Its a simple question we dont know the answer to..
3. The tech was great here too.. wasnt for it, the protagonist would keep being fooled his whole life. He could not get rid of memories? Well, we cant already.
