I am sure I have seen that canal on a sailing video that I watch, but they never gave any context to where the stunning views are - truly beautiful! And I love your rock - the trees on top! Thanks for sharing.
Ah wow, thanks for making this wonderful video to showcase our new parkrun. I’m one of the Event Directors for Crinan and am so glad you enjoyed it. We’re so pleased with how it’s going. Ps the mile marker stone is the turn around (the cones are highlighting some collapsed edge on the path and are not ours 😂). Hope you can come again on a Saturday and say hi! Oly x
Awww I'm pleased you enjoyed it. Thank you so much for bringing this beautiful parkrun to parkrunworld! What a stunner! And what an incredible part of the world, I'd love to move to Scotland one day! 😍😍😍
Wow that is a beautiful & peaceful spot Nicola! One heck of a long drive up from Yorkshire though....will have to put it on the potential holiday list - thanks for the video.
That really has to be one of the most beautiful and striking locations for a park Run! It looks so evocative on a still Autumn day! Sort of forlorn but so restorative. Great to have mountains in view but flat!
So cool. For a minute there i thought you were there for the actual run and I was wondering where everyone was. What a beautiful setting though and thank you for sharing the views.
That’s a lovely setting for a parkrun, Nicola. I was also up in Scotland last weekend for a business conference in Stirling so I was able to check out the University of Stirling’s parkrun course which goes around a lake. It is another beautiful one especially with the Autumn colours. You get a good view of the Wallace Monument from the course. Unfortunately, I didn’t arrive until the Sunday so I will have to do the parkrun another time.
I got a fantastic picture of the lake with the Wallace Monument in the background. I will send it to you. They have actually been running an alternative course since the Spring due to the construction of a footpath by the leisure centre but I think they are just about to return to a 2 lap course around the lake.
@@NicolaRuns me all sorted for 29th December with Bridlington Bonaza half marathon with Grim Up North on saturday 28th staying at Tadcaster A64 Travelodge so i can break the drive up
It’s absolutely stunning. Did the third event, and it was a brilliant drive over. It’s the first event I’ve done where the location made my jaw drop. Such a fantastic place for a run. Also, well done on not butchering the word “loch” (you’ve been practicing 🤣)
Ooh thanks 😃 high praise indeed! Pleased not to have butchered it! Maybe I hit the required number of trips to Scotland! 🎉🎉🎉 When I got there I did the same, it's a real wow moment isn't it?! Until this trip I don't think I'd seen a sea lock before either so I was excited about that too! 😃
Congrats for the Jubilee 700 th Parkrun. The Landscape looks really nice. I will run in End of September 2025 the Loch Ness Marathon. It will be my 12 th Run in the UK.
We'll look at that, the little off-roader is out on her own, running over glens and by lochs in the Highlands of Scotland. Okay it was on pavements next to a canal rather than muddy fields and footpaths. But the biggest omission; there's no parkrun just a solo (freedom) run; no crowds, no interviews and no shouting 'thank-you marshall' or guest appearance by friends/Poppy. If you carry on like this they'll take your title away, no more princess of parkrun just plain and simple parkrunner. Luckily we were treated to the usual high quality stats, intricate details of the facilities, some great shots of stunning scenery, gasps of awe at nature, the parkrun's history and a clear explanation of the course (in miles?). Oh and frequent giggling plus gratuitous Sandra Bullock running shots with a little lighthouse finale. So, some solid content as always. Hope the short break with the family north of the border was fun and relaxing, seems like a million years since I've been to King Tut's.
Lovely video from you Nicola, you know that you can run a parkrun course on a Sunday to Friday and call it a Freedom run or just a (not) parkrun and submit your time to your home parkrun website page.
Thanks 😊 I think I submitted one or two many moons ago and then gave up logging freedom runs. Not parkruns are different as they're a 5km anywhere. This was born out of the covid pause. Freedom runs have been there for YEARS! It's only a freedom run if it's on a parkrun route 😃
I love a canal parkrun!
Same! I love a canal anything! I'm trying to visit all of the Wonders of the Waterways 😃
I am sure I have seen that canal on a sailing video that I watch, but they never gave any context to where the stunning views are - truly beautiful! And I love your rock - the trees on top! Thanks for sharing.
It's a truly epic place to have a parkrun 😍😍😍😍😍

Congratulations on your 700th parkrun, Nicola.
Thank you 🤗🤗🤗
Definitely a fantastic view 😂❤
Stunning 😍😍😍⛰️
One of my favourites, did it on a lovely day.
Oh you're so lucky! I'd have loved to have been there on parkrunday 😃
@ On a par with Lews Castle for scenery. Both beautiful.
@AlastairCunningham-g4z I'll have to add it to my list! 😍
Wonderful to see the area again,I used to live in Lochgilphead.
Oh wow! Lucky you! Scotland is unreal 😍😍😍

It's a stunning spot for a holiday! Scotland is unreal! I ended up heading to Glencoe after this as I couldn't resist the scenery 😍
Were you tempted to do the full 9 out and back 😂
@emmarunyeard6832 maybe if it wasn't raining and I didn't have a long drive afterwards! 😃😃😃

Exactly this! It's such a stunning location! Those views 😍😍😍
Spectacular views
It's such a stunning area! What a parkrun?! 😍😍😍

I almost freedom ran that on the way back to Dunbar funnily enough but the rain put me off! 😳🤣🙈

What a beautiful place to run!❤
I was like WOW!!! THIS IS A SPECIAL PARKRUN! 😍😍😍 Shame I wasn't nearby on a Saturday but it's definitely a gem in parkrunworld 😃
@ Yes! I hope you will get back one of these days!😊
Had to look at the map to see where Crinan is! Can see the advantage of building a canal there two centuries ago. Closest I've been is Oban.
I headed up to Oban after this! 😃
Oh how beautiful x
It really is 😍😍😍
Wow 🤩 Looks amazing….
It's stunning! 🤩🤩🤩
what lovely views did Stamford park today in a new PB of 21.46 finishing 12th out of 158
Well done 👍🏻😃

@ I’ve never been in Inverness before. I can’t wait until the Event🤩
you do get out and about, don't you? you've ran some lovely locations (i'm jealous), wonderful way to spend your time. best wishes.
Guilty as charged! 🤣 Mum moved to Scotland last year which definitely helped me adventure a bit further 😃
Beautiful spot & perfect for a parkrun. Unfortunately too far from New Zealand😄
Everything is too far from NZ 😜🤣😳
@ lol and we like it that way🤣
@Kiwiparkrunners 🤣🤣🤣
I am off on a Scottish road trip next year, really looking forward to exploring xx
Oh wow! I'm totally in love with Scotland. It's like the Lake District on steroids! 😃😃😃
