Stayed for a week in this area in 2018 - Walked from Crinan along the canal for abit. Such a lovely area.
The village of Cairnbaan is very picturesque, hopefully you managed to park up somewhere and walk it abit of it while up that way.
Wild beavers were reintroduced in the knapdale area.
Also there was various outdoor art instalations within Taynish Nature reserve and an open air gallery at the ruined mill at Taynish :)

JawZ2002 I did manage to go for a wander. I do love the area. I will have to go back and pay a visit to the nature reserve. I will have to find that open air art gallery.

@@JawZ2002 Thank you for the information. Hopefully I'll be back in the area soon, and I can go for an explore. You never know, I might come across some lovely art.

Dunure Castle is in Ayrshire. You are looking at Duntrune. The Malcolms of Pollatoch live there, not the Campbells. The canal runs from Crinan to Ardrishaig, a few miles south of Lochgilphead. I've read a lot of fascinating history on the canal, you have inspired me to throw my bike in the van, and impart it in a video !!!
Fabulous part of the country 😍

Exploring Scotland's History thank you for letting me know. I must have misheard the guy I was talking to about the castle.

Really nice scenery. It's amazing just how quiet the country is just now with the ongoing situation. Let's hope we some sort of normality emerge fairly soon. Some incredible engineering went into the canal systems. To an extent, they were the arteries of the industrial revolution.

I know. Things have been quiet. Hopefully this whole thing will end soon and we can get back to living our lives. I had always seen signs for the Crinan Canal, but never really visited it. I would love to go on a wee boat trip on it, one day. That could be another video.

I've heard of the Crinan Canal. It looks so beautiful. I do have a soft spot for Argyll.

It is a really beautiful canal. I love Argyll as well. I'd love to have a wee boat trip on the Crinan Canal, if I ever get the chance.
