Genius! I have been looking online for the last couple of days wondering why I have to spend hundreds of dollars for a mount! I’m sold! This is being put on in the morning! Thankyou sir!

Great idea brother. I was just thinking about how I was gonna mount my new graph for livescope and remembered that I had an extra boat pedestal. You da man.

Very clever. I think I will use your concept with an addition. I want to mount 2 chart plotters at the bow. One for livescope, the other for down scope and side imaging. Thanks for the idea. Following.

Good video. I have a nice 24" diy mount that i made & am thinking about redoing a ceiling mount tv stand that will extend to 65:" if wanted to avoid the neck pain.. It will also fold down 90* so would stow well when running in rough water.

That is a absolute ingenious idea good going guy. I'm like you I just cannot bring myself to spend $250 on a mount. I'd rather spend it on a pole fishing reel. On anything--but just Electronics mount thanks for the idea I will installing it this weekend

  • @richardcarlisle6692

The new mounts are cool, but expensive. If a seat post will support my 200lb butt, it will hold a fish finder all day long. Love this idea and I have the spare parts to build it without going to the store. Thanks for the tip.

Bought a seat pedestal package on Amazon for $50. When I flip the base over (which looks identical to yours), I find the post and the plastic bushing won't fit into the hole because the hole is tapered. It's narrower at the bottom (which becomes the top when flipped over). Did you encounter this problem and if so, how did you overcome it?
