Genius! I have been looking online for the last couple of days wondering why I have to spend hundreds of dollars for a mount! I’m sold! This is being put on in the morning! Thankyou sir!
@@The_Garmin_Guru that's easy to see. Enjoy the journey ! I installed the pedestal and seat base looks great ! Already had old pedestal . Ready to take it out ! Really appreciate it !
Great idea brother. I was just thinking about how I was gonna mount my new graph for livescope and remembered that I had an extra boat pedestal. You da man.
Very clever. I think I will use your concept with an addition. I want to mount 2 chart plotters at the bow. One for livescope, the other for down scope and side imaging. Thanks for the idea. Following.
Good video. I have a nice 24" diy mount that i made & am thinking about redoing a ceiling mount tv stand that will extend to 65:" if wanted to avoid the neck pain.. It will also fold down 90* so would stow well when running in rough water.
That is a absolute ingenious idea good going guy. I'm like you I just cannot bring myself to spend $250 on a mount. I'd rather spend it on a pole fishing reel. On anything--but just Electronics mount thanks for the idea I will installing it this weekend
The new mounts are cool, but expensive. If a seat post will support my 200lb butt, it will hold a fish finder all day long. Love this idea and I have the spare parts to build it without going to the store. Thanks for the tip.
Bought a seat pedestal package on Amazon for $50. When I flip the base over (which looks identical to yours), I find the post and the plastic bushing won't fit into the hole because the hole is tapered. It's narrower at the bottom (which becomes the top when flipped over). Did you encounter this problem and if so, how did you overcome it?
I like the set up and its in my budget, but kind of find it funny you don't want to spend 400 on a mount, when you spend 4000 on a trolling motor, just saying. Not hating..

That's freaking awesome, so many versions come to mind off your main concept
That's the plan!
This is the coolest idea ! Love the dad moment ! Family!
She’s my angel for sure

Never seen anyone use a seat pedestal for a mount and man that looks good. Love how you can change the height so easy. 👍👍
You can buy the hydraulic seat pedestal and get fancy with it. Lol
Good deal I put new seats in boat last year still got old ones in garage I’m in business and I appreciate your ideal thank you for sharing
Right on!

Absolutely genius
Thanks bud
You're a genius. I love this.
Yes sir. Thanks
Hahaha that’s intuitive as hell Brotha man!! I wish I had two Garmins to have one at the front and one on the center console.. In time I guess.
You can actually mount two or three if you’re careful on this mount

@@davidtownsend5436 I think I knocked it out and flipped them
Always a plus getting it up with one hand......
Haha. Boy you need to stop
nice set up, but iam interested in hoe you mounted your transducer to the trolling motor
Yes sir. Working on that video as we speak. Should be out in the morning. I’ll cover everything from transducer mount to depth in water.
@@The_Garmin_Guru Yes, that's the one I want to know about. Great idea on the mount too!
Excellent idea!!!

Innovative. And tell her she ain't big enough to take my spot yet. Lol.
She thinks she is
That is brilliant I’m going to do this on my jet sled ..👍👍
Man I try to stretch my dollars as far as I can. Lol.
An old table leg works too❤
Interesting

Just made a couple up from scrap👍
omg thank you sir never hit me to use them thank you will be going to store now to get one
Good luck friend
I appreciate this. Good idea
Hope it helps bud
Genius…… 😉👍
Good idea. 👍
It’s very sturdy for sure
@@The_Garmin_Guru I need the weight in the front. Xpress bay. Lol.. Plus doubles as a cup holder on bar or for baits. Lol
Love it man, is there a way to lock it so it doesn’t bounce out?
That would be able to be done by putting a pole pedastal in that has a set screw. But I’ve never had it bounce
If really concerned about bouncing out, could drill holes and use locking pins... be simple to do... I like this mount!!
Great idea.
Thank you bud
I see someone in near future making a homemade live scope inexpensive one here soon. 2,000 is alot of money
That will be tough to do.
That's what I'm looking for .big time thinks. Like the way you think.
I’ve had several people build them with good success so far
Well 💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
