      I think that may just the bolts that I used to mount the black box to the plastic box. I don’t have any toggle switch. However that would be a good idea to be able to switch the power off and on if you did disconnect the unit from the battery.

    I am jumping into one of these units (Lowrance version). Simply because I run all Lowrance finders, and I dont want to learn a new unit. With that said, I want to be able to fish off the bow, or back of the boat. I was dreading running/buying duplicate cables to get that accomplished. I now just need power (which I have) at both ends. It’s a totally portable unit!!!!!!! Thank you! You just made my life easier!!!!!!

    Just got my 93sv ultra and my live scope, and had to settle for trolling mount on my 2002 pro guide v-16. had to extend power cables for the black box and the 93sv, but now it's winter and I can't go fishing because of the cold (my 65 year old body just can't handle it any more). anyways, your set up is "genius" . Sir, this is probably a stupid question, but I couldn't see what was keeping the 3/4 in. aluminum tent pole inside the 1 in. electrical PVC. Is there a bolt going through it somewhere? I thought the sleeve that you have the handle mounted on was holding it all together, but it looks like the handle is just mounted around a 1 in. piece of PVC and does not clamp onto the 3/4 in. tent pole which is inside it. Therefore, I just can't see what is keeping the 3/4 in. from sliding out of the 1 in. Ty!

    • @kerrys.5725
      @kerrys.5725 3 года назад

      It looks after the taking a second look that the handle sleeve is attached to the 3/4 in. aluminum and is separate from the 1 inch allowing it to turn on the inside, but I still can't see how the sleeve you made is attached to the 3/4 in. aluminum keeping it from coming out. Again, I don't see a bolt running through it. Is the sleeve and the 3/4 in. aluminum JB welded together? It looks like the sleeve is bigger than the 1 inch to allow the handle to go on. With that, what are the two black rings just below the handle and the one further down towards the transducer end for? Hope my questions make sense. I know the answers have to be simple stupid, but I just can't see the how and what from the video shot. Thanks again Sir!

    • @CATCHAHAWG
      @CATCHAHAWG  3 года назад

      Hey Kerry. Thank you for your comment. The handle on top is mounted to the aluminum pole which keeps it from sliding through. On the bottom of the sleeve I have a loop in tie cable so that it can turn freely. There’s tape on the outside of the sleeve and the aluminum pole that holds the cable right . The tape also keeps the aluminum pole from sliding back out if I were to pull up on the handle.

The biggest being Putting in The Work UPFRONT prior to fishing to locate fish holding structure and cover at various depths to be used at various times of the year and under ever changing weather conditions. Please know you are on my BUCKET LIST for a guided Crappie trip on LF! Again, let me know if there is a place I can buy a handle like yours. The link for the box is located in the video description but I don’t have one for those connectors. I got them at the local auto parts place around the trailer plug area. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching

    I have a question ,,, I am making a transducer mount ,, like yours ,, as you know lol I was worried about that 8 degree off set mount ,, was fixing to try and find a 0 degree mount somewhere ,, I heard they make them ,, then I ran across a comment somewhere that said ,, take a piece of 1 1/2 inch PFC ,, cut a 1/2 inch pieced off of it ,, slip that over where the transducer mounts to the pole ,, your good to go ,, any truth to this ,, can I stop stressing over trying to find that 0 degree mount?

    • @CATCHAHAWG
      @CATCHAHAWG  3 года назад

      Hmm I would have to see that pvc trick to have an opinion. I thought about getting a zero degree mount for mine when I purchased it as well but after I started using it I forgot about it until seeing your comment lol Now you have me wondering if I could catch more with it lol

      @@CATCHAHAWG I saw a diagram ,, pretty much just a sleeve that sits at the level of that off set mount ,, will prevent your transducer from having to sit on that off sit on the mount ,, will make it level ,, so your transducer will sit flat on the mount ,, what makes me not knowing if this will work ,, I don't have my transducer yet ,, if that transducer has ,, which I am thinking if my brain is working right lol has a 8 degree off set built onto it ,, it won't work ,, I tend to think it doesn't because if it did ,, you would have two off sets sitting on top of each other ,, that would make it sit even ,,

    • @lvsaltwater
      @lvsaltwater 3 года назад

      @@CATCHAHAWG Sorry no I don't ,, I will try and explain it as best I can ,, You have your transducer mount at the bottom of your transducer pole ,, built into the transducer mount is your off set ,, you take your PVC washer ,, like whats in your garden hose to stop it from leaking ,,
      you place this PVC washer over that off set ,, so that its sitting around that off set like a donut ,, this PVC washer is just tall enough that it sits just a little bit higher than the off set ,,
      This is the part I don't know ,, I have never held the transducer in my hand ,, if I saw how the transducer attached to the transducer mount ,, I would know in 2 seconds if this would work ,,
      Pretty much the way I see it ,, that PVC washer stops the transducer from sitting on that off set at the off set angle ,, keeping it sitting flat with no off set ,, the part I don't know ,,
      Will how ever the transducer is attached to the transducer mount fit around that PVC washer and still lock the transducer mount ,,
      All that is kinda hard to follow ,, seems like if this were to work ,, everyone would have thought of this by now ,, and no one would be selling 0 degree off set mounts ,,

      @@lvsaltwater yeah it does seem hard to follow. I looked at an extra mount I have and it looks like if you adde the washer it would still be at the same angle if I’m understanding you correctly. Probably best just to purchase what Garmin recommends on this one lol

      James Henderson the handle is connected to the aluminum tubing that runs through the pvc. It just sits on top of the pvc where it’s connected. I’m not sure of the handle name. It was on an old trolling motor I had.
