Any chance you could lend some insight on how to power on the MFD outside of the Vehicle? I wanted to test one at my local Pick n Pull before I picked it up.
No way unless you can get 12V power working in the car (the 12V is always gone in a pick n pull). Best bet is to pull the part (it's easy to get to with an impact driver, 10mm socket, and phillips head screwdriver), test it in your own car, and return it if it's dead.
Thank you for the great tutorial! Successfully did an MFD transplant, but then immediately received the Red Triangle of death light. Any ideas on what to try to clear it? Hybrid battery is brand new.
thanks for sharing. recentely i replaced one the sameway you did but the touchscreen is totaly irisponsive. i can still control few functions from the steering wheel. what do you think the problem is? is it some kind of set-up or circuit problem? i appreciate your opinion thanks

My screens configuration is so far off that I cannot reconfigure it. Would replacing the digitizer most likely correct that, or is it more likely a computer problem? Mine is the NAV type. Also, just to clarify, you charge 199 plus S&H if I send you the unit (parts included)? How much would the part be by itself for a DIY? If you would prefer I email you let me know and I will.
Hi. I just recently bought what I (though) I needed to do a repair. What I got was just the glass panel with the ribbon cable. Is this interchangeable (I'm guessing maybe with some adhesive), or do I need the whole digitizer panel, with the plastic and metal bezel etc?
So sorry for the late response - You'll need to heat your old screen to remove the digitizer, and attach the new one with double sided tape. Ours come with adhesive already applied.

I can replace the failed circuit board for $500. This doesn't usually end up being a realistic option though, because used MFD's can be purchased for $350 +/-
This video is deceiving if you don’t watch beginning carefully. Its a dumb video because he already repaired the digitizer and LCD screen. Then announces it with words. Then he shows you issue of digitizer not working. (Touch screen no work) Misleading Actually this video is stupid, watch a the other video with guy working on it on dinner table.

My 2005 mfd goes in and out and the Lexus logo often pops up. I put in a used one and it did the same thing. Any suggestions?
